Quote: As soon as the Balto series stops using numbers, I'm out. (hopefully, Universal will spare me from doing this . . .) Err, but it's already the case, at least in europe...It's not named Balto 3 but Balto : Wings of Change in england for example... (or another subtitle for the other countries) Quote: I mean, I'd love more sequels for Balto, just not one new movie every year. That's overdoing it IMO. Maybe every two years (to help make sure that it's going to be the best quality that it can be (almost like WoC)), but not annually.
It wouldn't affect the quality, in fact. Because the production time would be exactly the same. The LBT films have exactly the same production time as the balto sequels had (one year and a half), they are just organized and probably have a few teams to succeed in releasing one every year. And besides, they would never give a higher budget for the balto sequels, because they don't sell as much as the LBT sequels and they haven't got such a high budget either. (probably the same)
No, the problem would rather be that the fans wouldn't follow the rythm. I think they should just do one every two years, but as I said with the petition, not only sequels please...
But, don't get all this wrong. Nothing tell us that they are really coming out with a balto every year, and not even that there will be another one. It's just a supposition I made from all this.

Maybe the three makes some buyers think it's super cheap, or they are doing like LBT.

Not exactly, I think it's to make the people who don't have the previous sequels to buy the new one. People usually don't like to buy "xxx 3" if they haven't seen "xxx 2"...That's why nowadays, most sequels starting from 3 or 4 don't have subtitles (it's the same for the video games too, for example : Gta San andreas and not GTA 5, and it can be worse, for example when they make sequels to sub-series...like Need for speed underground 2 or Tony hawk underground 2, which would be in fact the seventh or eighth sequel in this series...)
BTW, Universal don't put numbers to titles of the LBT sequels since a long time...

Actually, they did have numbers for the LBT sequels up to about the eighth or ninth one. I think I remembered the tenth one had a number too (in the US).
I just hope Balto doesn't get destroyed. Godspeed, Balto. Godspeed.

The last one released in the US (which is still isn't out here) is LBT 11. A LBT 12 is in production, and a LBT 13 in the writing stage. (as far as I know)

Quote: I guess 13 is the biggest number in a sequel in the story of the cinema...
For animated films, that's sure. (for the others, the most would be 4, and that would be An american Tail which is also from Universal, with two DTV sequels...)
But that's why they don't use numbers anymore. Think of the James Bond movies for example, I think they made many more than that, but they don't call them "James Bond 23" or so...

That's probably why Baltos 2&3 have so many mistakes: Universal is spending most of their money on making The Land Before Time(just so you know what that is if you don't know) sequels, and less money on Balto! DIE, LITTLEFOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
