Kavik soon found the small group he'd been looking for. Some dog and some wolf. But what did that matter. He explained all that happened and was careful about how he described Mishka not wanting to put her in any danger. He then smiled one of those 'heh-heh'... kinda smiles and padded off without another word knowing they'd see eac other later...

Mishka:
I walked over to Diana's room and hopped on her bed. I lied down and when BamBam tried to get up there I growled in warning. He put his ears back and walked out. I didn't want him in there with my Diana, I didn't know or trust him that well. When Diana came in and lied down I didn't sleep, I watched the door, waiting for anything. BamBam snored so loud that it was actually like a song almost.

Kavik lay inbetween two trees that sat intertwined. He looked up at the stars and prayed with all his might they wouldn't come back...but who was they?

There was a knock at the door and I jumped up and jogged to the door. Me and BamBam barking deeply at the door and letting slight rumbles slide. Diana called us off and moved us slightly away from the door before opening it. She tied her robe and rubbed some sleep from her eyes.

"Kavik"... A voice called from out of nowhere."Kavik"... Kavik looked up in surprise and yipped happily when he saw Sasha, the husky he'd had his eye on for months.

Mishka:
I barked and barked until my throat started to hurt. Diana had said that I would stop eventually but not as long as that man was standing there. He had hunting gear on that I had never noticed before. Mainly because all dogs, even me, are color blind. I barked more and more. BamBam right beside me.

Soon my sharp ears caught the fiantest sound of hwat was believed to be barking. I howled to confirm my hypothesis and headed off to see what was going on.

The man left and I shoved through the closing gap between the door and outside. I slipped through and walked around just to relieve myself then come back inside. I walked around and noticed Kavik walking away. I grinned and saw that my friend was coming over to play with me like we always did around this time.

I watched closley as the two dogs yipped happily playing in the yard. I sighed not wanting to see any of my friends ever again. Actually, I never wanted to see any dog at all again...

I was playing happily when all of the sudden a man put a steel rope around my neck that extended from a long pole. I wipped around barking and snarling. Bitting at the poll and doing flips. The man had a hard time holding onto me, I could tell, my advantage. I ran at him which bent the pole back and bent it.

I knew that man was coming. I always did. Growling I just stood as if my mucsles wouldn't work. I wanted to lunge but I seemed frozen in time.'C'mon, c'mon'... I thought.

Mishka:
Another man came with thick gloves on. I bit him on his forearm. Drawing blood from his scrawny arm. I yanked and ripped and tried to get away from them. The man grabbed my neck and slammed my against the ground. I squirmed and thrashed hard until I couldn't anymore. They tossed me in a cage and shut the rusty latch. I could tell they were going to load me on a sled with big dogs pulling it.

I looked at those big dogs recongizing all except one.'I used to lead that team'. I whispered mostly to myself.'We'd one the World Championship not to long ago, and I was lead dog'. Without knowing I lunged hoping to pin the lead dog and snap his traces.

Man:
He stood and shouted at Kavik. Waving his arms and throwing snowballs at him. I could hear Mishka barking from the cage and kicked the door. It swung open and she bolted. I stomped my feet and threw the cage, me and my partner ran.

I growled in disbelief at what the man had just done. I barked at the lead dog and excpecting an anger filled reaction I was surprised that he just stood. He looked at the harness he wore and whined. I nodded and stepped forward freeing him and taking my place. Oh, it felt so good to feel those leather straps again!
