Okay...following up with Phase 2, I have already begun to contact one or two fan artists whom I feel can tackle this drawing (and coloring) of the teams, and am looking at more possibilities as well. MEANWHILE, I still need to flesh out these two teams with some MALE characters. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? LOL Please? (Siberian huskies only please...no wolfdogs or anything). Here is what I have so far on the line-ups (though these may change as circumstances develop). Any dog in bold/italics is actually an historical dog who was known to be on the teams in question. Open slots are shown before or after the double dash marks (--). TOGO & FRITZ'S TEAM On this particular team, Leonhard Seppala allowed Togo to run out ahead of the team on what was called a "long lead". Fritz probably ran ahead of the swing dogs in a single position as well, when he wasn't running tandem with Togo (which he did occasionally...there is photographic proof of this). Scotty, another relative of both Togo and Fritz, and one of Seppala's other famous racing dogs, was said to be one of his leaders as well. Which means it is at least probable that he was in a swing dog position near the front of this particular team. This team had twenty dogs on it (leaving eleven positions yet open). Togo * * Fritz * Chianti -- Scotty * -- Milena * -- * Morgan -- Marisol * -- * -- * -- * -- * SLED BALTO'S TEAM There WILL be an upcoming fiction (of epic proportions) for this team! It may take a while, but it WILL get here! Meanwhile, I should point out that this team's history is probably going to play out almost identically to how the historical one did. Which means that, once the team leaves for the filming and the vaudeville tour, none of the dogs will return to Nome or to Alaska (at least within the confines of any fan fiction I happen to write. Their individual owners may craft something after that fan fiction I will be writing if they wish to resolve that for their characters in time). This team has thirteen dogs on it (leaving four positions open). Balto * Fox -- * Tillie -- * Rabiosa -- * Billy -- Old Moctoc * Sye -- Alaska Slim * Ilakulik -- * SLED NOTE: A few characters from the contest, after checking their histories, don't seem to be sled dogs (Pixie, Olivia and Fefferi). So I have not included them in the line ups. Unless their owners wish to change that...but for the serum run it wouldn't work given how their histories are laid out so far... Additionally, most of these historic dogs are not clearly identified in photographs from the time. Only Scotty and Fox. So designs on these are pretty wide open.

Oh, so its the same year, that could be a problem. Oliver is crush to Anabelle, who is Demeter's char. Anabelle is Balto's great-granddaughter, so unless hes a lot older than her, he may not be able to participate. He would have to be at least 4 years older, but that is possible, if I don't count the image of them as pups as official fanart of them. Hmmm...

Then perhaps you could design another male character? A shame...I really kinda like Oliver. lol InsanitiaWolf21 wrote: I would like to put the Unnamed female on Fritz and Togo's team, and put Nick on Balto's team. Or if they can stay together, on a same team, that's fine too. Unnamed and Nick are kind of a couple. For size, Nick is bulkier, so he may fit in back of the team as the wheel dog. And Unnamed is built smaller, so a swing dog or a team dog. Thanks once more, JC! You have no idea how much this means to me! ~Insanitia You're welcome Inanitia. I think both on Togo's team might work better. There's more room. Given Nick's size, I think I'll use him as a "wheel dog" (immediately in front of the sled). That is usually where larger, stronger dogs were put. As to the unnamed female, not sure where I can squeeze her in yet, but there is room. Nice art, by the way!

Ah, as for Fef, I think I'd just keep her as a companion dog. Though I did come up with something else if you need more slots to be filled. I'm here to help if you need anything. xD Just ask.

Cool, so Ilakulik would be on Balto's team then? I really like the idea of her being a serum dog.

Tanta was/is a lead sled dog...And she could do another run with Togo to get to know him better. I'm guessing she'd have to take the backseat though. All of my husky characters on Cade's team (including Cade himself when he was young) could be a possibility. Pavel's probably too young, but I could adjust that if you get sold on him or something. PonchoCadeMarcoPandeI've also got a heavy built (like Poncho) guy named Reese coming up and Sacco, who retired form Cade's team. I haven't got Sacco's info up- but he might be perfect. Lemme know if you're interested. I'd like Tanta to spend sometime on the team if possible, her owner might run her a few times- so she doesn't get too restless. I'm sure taking a working dog to a new home- and halting their work all together to serve as a bit of a shock and some destructive behavior, thus getting Tanta back into some routine wouldn't be totally unrealistic. Rudy would probably like to show off how well she can preform on a team, anyways.

I just didn't want to infringe upon the character's status as a lead dog of another team. lol And perhaps we can talk about some of the other characters. I am interested!
