Aleu: "Ah...okay. Not much of a climate change then from what you'd be used to." For a few moments she trudged on mentally going over the different places she could show him and the most important things to know about life in town. His scent kept filling her nostrils, overwhelming her thoughts and making it hard for her to concentrate.
"Here we are" she said as she turned onto the main avenue. "This is main street. It runs right through the heart of town and will take you anywhere you want if you just follow it. Trust me...it's saved yours truly in the past from being totally lost" she added chuckling at a memory.

Aleu: "Yeah." Deciding to veer off she took to pointing out different things with her nose. "Over there is the butchers. Sometimes when he's in a good mood he gives handouts. One source of food...Um oh....and this is the square where most of us gather to watch races and stuff." Aleu hoped that she wasn't annoying him. She couldn't figure out why he seemed to have aroused her feelings and make her feel this way. She decided that she'd keep them a secret unless he showed any signs of liking her in the same sense.
"This right here is the boiler room where on some nights all of us dogs get together and talk things over. It's always a warm place to stay when it gets cold."

Aleu: Her heart seem to be pounding, blotting out everything else but his voice. Slowly she turned to face him hopefully her voice quivering slightly. "W...w..what? Do you really?"

Aleu: Hardly daring to believe what he had said she slowly looked deep into his eyes smiling warmly at his comformation. "Well Luke...I...I think your very cute and I like you although we just barely met." Slowly she leaned her head forward and buried her nose in the soft warm fur along his neck. "It's getting late...I should probably show you where you can spend the night. I could meet up with you tomorrow and show you more of Nome if you wanted..."

Aleu: Taking a moment to gather her thoughts she grinned. "It's Aleu. Your first night you probably want to sleep in the boiler room to stay warm and get to know some of the others."

Luke walked into the boiler room, "its cozy in here."

Aleu: Somewhat downcast she turned slowly heading for her usual spot which only she knew about turning her head to give Luke a smile. "Um...goodnight then. I'll see you tomorrow I guess." Without a second thought she made her way past the boiler room and into a little hole that tunneled under the foundations of the houses until it came to a low space with a shaft of light showing through a grate set right in the middle of the ceiling. The smells of medicine and the sounds of human voices drifted to her as she laid down on the mound directly below the only source of light sighing to herself.
