Shiva stood silent the whole time, listening intently as the others argued and talked amongst themselves. Wagging her tail she turned to the cage Romeo was in. The small dog was curled up in the dark shadowy corner of his kennel, his wide terrified eyes darting in every direction. Shiva sighed, the other two newcomers were very interesting and talkative and almost every dog in the kennel was eager to get to know them. Hardly any of the dogs paid attention to the shy runt who had a look of horror permanently stamped on his face.

She decided to leave the dog alone. Clearly, since she was a stranger, he would be unlikely to be comforted by her words. Turning her attention for the scared dog, Shiva pricked her ears as a sound came from the door close to her cage. "It's coming!" Shiva barked a warning to the other dogs. Usually, if the catcher found that the kennel was too noisy, they would be punished and either not that evening or worse; not let outside.

Bic:// Sadie thought about how to answer Banshee's and Sable's question. Explaining where she had her siblings were headed made more sense in her head than when she actually though about how to tell these other dogs of their desination. She thought while Sable and Ace discussed humans, but paid enough attention to the conversation to giggled at Ace's sarcasm. "I think I better tell everyone at the same time," Sadie finally said to answer both of their questions. This would give her some more time to pick out the right words and also prevent her from repeating herself. This was going to be tough doing this once, she didn't want to have to do it again and again.

Sadie jumped when another dog whom she hadn't met shouted from the end that she had heard Shade before. Sadie had no idea what the dog meant by 'It's coming!' but all of the doors at the back of each kennel began to rumble just after she shouted. Sadie backed away from the door, unsure of what was happening. Then, the metal door raised just a crack to let some fresh air into the stuffy room. Sadie breathed in deep, taking in the sweet scent of grass. As if in slow motion, the door crept up, pulling by a chain until finally it creaked to a stop. Unsure if it was safe to venture outside, Sadie took a tentative step out onto the soft grass.

Jackson slunk through the door just as soon as it was wide enough for him to squeeze through. He trotted a straight line to the large tree that stood in the middle of the rather small yard, taking a seat between two of the roots. This was the place that the dogs spent most of their outside time, since the shade of the tree prevented the grass under it from drying out and browning like most of the grass in the rest of the area. Of course, there were no toys out here, and the plants weren't taken care of, but it smelt a whole lot better than the kennel.

"Well then, we'll just have to learn and see which choices we make are right and wrong," said Sable. "We never know which is right and which is wrong." When she heard one of the dogs, Shiva, shout 'it's coming', Sable grew excited. She stood by the door at the back of her kennel, and when it opened, Sable bolted out, feeling excited as she gave a good run with the amount of energy she had in her. She loved being outdoors, though personally she thought it would be much better with a human. With her old master, Sable spent most of her days outside learning the course that her owner had set up in their backyard. It was all work and no play, not that Sable minded because it gave her something to do, something to drive for. But she wonder what it was like to play with a human. When she finally got out a lot of her energy, she came back over to the tree, taking a spot near Jackson while having enough room underneath the shade to relax.

Shade shrugged. He seemed to feel very comfortable around this dog. Usually, he didn't exactly feel the need to talk so much. However, with this dog Ignis, she seemed to know to dodge certain questions. It felt as if she was avoiding the uncomfortable questions and the feelings that went along with answering them. It impressed Shade greatly. Since, a lot of the time a canine couldn't care less whether or not the one they were talking to was enjoying the conversation.

To say the least, Shadow found himself talking a lot easier. He didn't feel the need to hold back too much. He could at least say the general things and not regret it. "It's no problem," He replied. "Uh, it could be cleaner to say the least." He took a look around his quarters and rolled his eyes in a very playful manner. He surprised himself after he did this, letting a chuckle slip out. That shocked him even more. He was actually having a lot of fun talking to this dog. It was one of the first times he'd felt so comfortable talking to a stranger.

"Never been here before so I can't say whether I'm a fan or not. My sister, brother, and I have been able to elude the catcher for as long as we've lived so far. I guess we were just lucky." He gave a faint smile. As the doors began to open, he slid back into the shadows of the kennel. Once the cages were all open, he slipped out of his space and breathed a big heap of air. Walking cautiously out onto the hallway type of floor, he made his way forward and out into the sun and fresh air.

He attempted to look for his brother, Romeo. He hadn't said a peep in return to Sadie and himself. Probably because he knew they wouldn't be able to hear. "Romeo?" He asked aloud, hoping his siblings could hear. However, his ears were still tuned into the various conversations around him. Somewhere nearby, he heard a somewhat familiar voice ring in. It slightly sounded like that dog who had been in the kennel next to his sister's.

Banshee bounded off to the outside, wagging his tail the entire way there. This was the highlight of his entire day. He loved running around and rolling in the grass. Just the fact the air and sun and clouds hung around and above them gave him a happy kind of chill. He turned back to Ace and called, "I could agree with you there! Most humans are terrible!" Though he spoke from experience, he knew in his heart that Sable had been at least somewhat right. After all, Banshee's first owner may have been a nutcase and negligent, his third and last owner may have been an abusive jerk who couldn't help himself to hurt an innocent dog. But his second owner had been so kind and thoughtful... This was the only reason Banshee still had hope in humans. He didn't trust them all the way, but he could say on Sable's behalf that she could have been right that not all were the same. "Not all are idiots, though. There are some nice ones..." He trailed off, not wanting to remember his past owners any long.

Ignis decided to ignore Ace's words and turned to Shade to hear his reply. "Agreed. It would be a lot better if it was cleaner." She voiced her opinion. She actually thought the kennel could be at least tolerable if it was not as dirty. But she also knew that it's just not going to happen.
"Heh, I got caught by them rather quickly. I guess I wasn't so lucky myself." Ignis smiled. She could see that the dog felt comfortable talking to her. However, the conversation ended rather quickly. The steps and Shiva's warning made her realize that finally, they're going to be let out to breathe some fresh air.

"Finally."She sighed. The puggle was used to the rumble of the cages as she was in the pound for a rather long time. Just as the door fully opened, she confidently stepped outside. She loved being outdoors, feeling soft grass beneath her paws. She started sniffing around, taking in all of the information she could pick up with her nose.
After a few moments, she picked up her nose from the ground, looking around place where it led her. The puggle took in all the various scents and sounds. She never really heard anything new and her nose never led her to a place she hasn't been to, but she imagined that everything around her is new and untouched, and that made her a little happier.

After a little while, she dashed to the shade under the tree, only finding out that the spot is taken. Nevertheless, being a small dog she fit under the shade and sat down there. The joy of being outdoors almost made her forget the fact she was planning to talk with Sadie as she seemed the most open dog out of the three newcomers.

Romeo jumped as the door behind him began to rumble. Crawling away from it, he crouched against the wire mesh at the front and felt a gust of fresh air hit his pelt. Breathing the wonderful air, he realized that they were being let out. Quick as a flash, Romeo pelted out of his cage and into the sunlight. The ground under his paws caused him to trip and he tumbled forward. Down the line of cages, Romeo heard the familiar sound of his brother's voice - calling to him.

"Shade!" Romeo barked eagerly in reply, bounding towards his brother. Throwing up small clouds of dust with his paws and skidded to a halt in front of Shade and pressed his muzzle into his brother's fur. He was almost a head shorter than Shade but this fact didn't bother him as he looked up happily.


Shiva blinked at Romeo and in a second he was gone. She watched as the small dog ran over to the other newcomer. Stepping out into the bright sun, Shiva waited for her eyes to adjust to the light before trotting out onto the grass. She saw a few of the dogs under the only tree and shyly walked over to them. She had never really talked to everyone else in the kennel, not wanting to make friends she wouldn't know very long and having the pain of watching them go one by one.

Ace dashed out of his cage as soon as the door was open, running as fast as he could around the tree, feeling the wind against his body and smiling. He ran towards one of the newcomers, the one apparently called Sadie, and barely stopped almost crashing with her. He hadn't noticed it until he was right in front of her, but she looked quite shaken and maybe even a little bit scared. Ace's smile grew bigger. "Awww don't be like that, come on, smile! There's nothing to be afraid of, really. Take a deep breathe and enjoy the view, relax and have some fun. Oh I'm Ace by the way, if you need anything you can count on me. So welcome to the pound, home of the finnest, high classed dogs you'll ever meet." He giggled at his own sarcasm." I'm kidding, you will find in fact, many good souls in here, and all kinds of stories and tragedies too. But first...as an offical new member of this... beautiful pound you have to tell us why you are here."

Sadie heared Shade called out for Romeo, and despite the fact the he had not called to her, Sadie quickly padded out of her kennel, still hesitant on the dry, crackling grass. Before she had even gone a full foot, a german shepherd nearly run into her in his sprint around the yard. Sadie jumped in surprise but calmed down and giggled at Ace's long explanation. She did remember him from the kennel though he had been far away from her. She hadn't seen him barely at all, but in the bright afternood sun, she smiled at him clearly. "I will, I will, just as soon as everyone gathers at..." She paused glancing around and seeing most of the dogs already gathering by the tree. "At that tree right there. Then, I'll tell everyone at once," she said to Ace, his hyperness slipping into her as she actually began to fell excited about talking to all those dogs. Even though Sadie liked to be socail, she didn't really enjoy being the center of attention.

"What do you guys think of the new dogs?" Jackson asked Sable and Ignis as they also came into the shade of the tree. Jackson hadn't had a chance to meet them yet, so he wanted some opinoins before talking to any of them. He never trusted easily, and the other dogs wouldn't be surprised that he was wary of these strangers. He treated almost every new dog at the pound the same.

"I think they're nice," said Sable in response to Jackson's question. "Quiet, but they'll open up around here, unless they're taken away by humans who might want them." Sable shrugged. "They're nothing to worry about. They seem nice at least. Well I guess the one, the female, is very nice. I didn't talk to the other two yet." She stretched out her legs and then relaxed underneath the shade. She leaned over and laid down on her side, though she had her eyes and ears alert in case something was going to happen. "Mmmm, today's such a nice day!" she yawned as she settled down.

"I have only talked to one of them, Ignis told the bigger dog,"But as far as I seemed to notice, they seem nice. The one I had a chance to talk to was a little reserved, but not shy in the slightest. Plus, they're new here, it's only understandable they're a little quiet now." She turned to Sable as she spoke those words.

She noticed Sadie chatting with the German shepherd Ace. Ignis thought she could try to make friends with the most open of the strangers. She stood up, looked back at Sable and Jackson for a moment as if to make sure they'll be okay if she leaves them, and trotted down the yard up until she was close enough to Sadie to speak to her.

"Hello there, if I'am correct we haven't spoke yet. I'am Ignis, and if I'am correct again, you're Sadie?" She smiled. Ignis was a small dog, probably smallest out of the pound dogs, but she was an incredibly confident pooch, not scared of strangers in the slightest. Actually, rather the opposite - she was eager to meet them. She also loved chatting with other canines she already knew, too, but she much preferred getting to know dogs that she never had communicated with before.

Ignis was also rather witty, but she knew when to butt in with a joke and when to keep her muzzle shut. She needed to find out first if the dog she is talking to will actually find her comments amusing, or will think they're offensive and unnecessary. True, sometimes they were slightly offensive, but Ignis rarely did ever mean to hurt anyone. She was a dog that got mad easily, but forgot everything just as easily. You have to do something really horrible to her to really make her mad.

Personality: Very understanding towards others feelings. Friendly and sociable yet has a shy side. He willing to risk his own life for another dog due to the lack of care for his own life.
History: Jaidee was neglected by his former owners living on a puppy mill. He didn't like the life of a stud dog for no other purpose but for making puppies and not truly falling in love and wanting to raise a family with the love of his life. So the only option he had was to run away. He ran for days it seemed like and he finally found a town far enough away from his past he became a stray dog and now enjoys his life away from his horrible past and hopes for a better future.
