That night Carlyn was hounded with the same questions over and over. 'Where were you?' 'What did you do?' 'What happened?'. She refused to answer any of their questions. She sat with her friend for awhile, talking about casual stuff. Then, after awhile she decided she'd go to sleep.

Cress sat with his father for plenty of the night, as his father was lecturing him on his future alpha-ship once again. Cress tried to pay attention, but he desperately wanted to go to bed. The first moment his father seemed to be finished, Cress crept off to bed.

That morning, Carolyn woke up, trying not to wake everyone else up as she snuck out.
She crept to the same spot they were the day before, looking around nervously.
