I don't even want to talk about school right now! I'm moving on into High School in the ghetto that's giving me a lot of anxiety right now, so ummmm....maybe not school more like Library, there are more even-knelled people there

People in school could care less to the idea of Balto, the real Balto, i'm sorry but that a cold-hard fact, i've got in fight over spreading Balto in school, okay, fights! why ? Why should i be in fights at school because of Balto? Because people don't know or care about him. When i tell them info, they think I'm wasting their "Valuable" time. Can you believe that!?

10 years ago, I introduced the idea to my teacher to have the kids watch Batlo and she did. We did like a "book report" on it, regardless of how the movie doesn't hold all the way true to the real story (like how Batlo isn't 1/2 wolf dog). Can't believe I brought my VHS copy and run it thru the school's VCR player - bluah.

As much as I want more people to know about Balto, trying to spread information about him (real or the movie) is just going to create problems.
Unless you're in elementary school, trying to get everyone to know about an unpopular animated movie is practically like putting a giant sign on yourself that says "Hey! I'm a fan boy/girl of a little kids movie! Come and make fun of me!" Especially when all the kids are interested in seeing live action or horror movies with as much gore or violence as they can see! If you want to spread the movie in school, you're better off mentioning it to just people that like dogs, wolfs, or animated movies.
Now trying to get people to know about the real Balto and the serum run is much more realistic, but there are still problems with that. First off, you can't just ask you're teacher if the class can learn about the serum run because teacher's have their own plans that they want to get through first and chances are that the serum run won't even be remotely related to the class's current topic. Now that doesn't mean you can't mention it if a topic that relates to it comes up, but most of the kids are probably going to end up forgetting about it by the time class is dismissed. Unless you're learning about the history of Alaska or the evolution of transportation as CCCN mentioned, the real Balto and the serum run probably isn't going to be a topic that you're teacher would be interested in hearing.

When I was in like 7th or 8th grade, the computer teacher was having us track a runner assigned to us in the Iditarod using Excel. Before that we had to watch some video on it. I can't remember if the teacher was asking questions, or if I was blurting out facts, but my class mates were getting annoyed with me and told me to shut up, nobody cares. So apparently no one was interested in the subject.

I've actually gotten alot of people to know alot about Balto by simply being funny about him (Not in a rudimentary sense). That's the hook! You get 'em with jokes and then within a month or two they'll be interested to know more about the facts and later on the movie! I'm in Highschool and this has worked to about eight classmates! Even they're beginning to spread the word!

Trust me... In my experience, yes it's awesome to get the word of Balto around, but it's not a good idea. People will bully you like there's no tomorrow and they won't feel the least bit sorry for it. I was teased and bullied three years straight because of my like for Balto and the only reason they backed off the least bit from that subject was because they asked our sixth grade teacher about it in order to embarrass and tease me some more and she burned them by saying she did in fact know about it. She turned out to have watched the movie and known about the subject and everything.
And even then, they never really stopped. Moving to a new school now is my salvation, my escape from that. So... while your idea may be good intentioned, I'd suggest DO NOT spread Balto in school. Anywhere else, but NOT school. Well gee Moki i sure am sorry, but i have to disagree Cx I have liked Balto for what, 7 years now? And just about everyone who knows me, knows i like Balto and they don't tease me. Friends or not, they all respect that i enjoy drawing dogs and wolves and balto. Now, i do somewhat agree, that we shouldn't force the liking of Balto onto people, and i think that it'd be fine to just keep on doing whatever your doing now. If people wanna know, they'll ask or look it up.

Everyone knows i like Balto and draw pictures of him but ono one seems to tease me.
