Setsuko turned to answer the question. "Ara-what now?" she questioned, confused. "And I'm not sure where my parents are. That's why I'm trying to find them!" That last part came out a little more harshly than she'd intended. "Er, sorry," she apologized quickly.

"It's okay," Rue said quickly. "And haven't you ever heard of Arizona? You know, the state?"

"Nope. I've never heard of an Airie-zonuh or whatever. What's a state?"

"Arizona," Rue corrected. "And you've never heard of a state? Like, you know, in a country? The US?"

"The...what?" repeated Setsuko blankly.

"You've never heard of the United States?!" Rue asked in surprise.

"The....what!?" Setsuko said again, face contorted in confusion, giving her head a quick shake for emphasis. Had Rue lost her mind?

Rue's mouth opened a little in shock. "Okay...then have you heard of Africa? Asia? Australia?"

Setsuko shook her head at each option. "Nope, nope and nope. What are you talking about? Did you hit your head or something?"

"Well, actually, yes, I did," Rue said, a hint of embarrassment edging her voice. "But trust me, they're real."

Setsuko stared at her blankly. Aaaaaand I'm quite sure you're just saying that due to that head injury. You didn't deny that, she thought. Aloud, she said, "Well, if you're still not going to talk sense, I'll just keep going." And that she did.

Rue walked hurriedly beside Setsuko. "Listen, I swear I'm not making this up, or saying it because of hitting my head. I didn't hit it that hard," she added. "Besides, I think we're both a bit lost. Why don't we stick together for a little while, okay?"

Setsuko turned, her eyes narrowed. She didn't really want to put of with more of the nonsense that this Rue kept going on about, but she did have a point. Setsuko reflected the idea for a long few minutes. "Fine," she said at last. "But just for a while." She gazed upwards at the trees, which seemed thinner here. It would be easy to glide up...

"...but let's hope you can use those wings of yours." She twirled her glider-staff rapidly, the blue mechanical wings popping out of the side, and took off with a blast of air, soaring above the forested canopy and into the morning light.

Rue's eyes widened in surprise. Setsuko could fly...and she didn't have wings! Rue took off immediatly after Setsuko, catching up easily. "I've never met someone who could fly like that without wings," she said.

Setsuko twisted and turned in the air, flying delicate patterns as if to challenge Rue's ability. "Ah? Well, you've obviously never met an Airbender, then!" she called seriously over the wind.
