Scotty took a few steps back and picked up his ipod looking down at it, he looked back at Cole's Mom and wondered why he wouldn't talk to her. He shrugged it off, Cole was okay and that was all that mattered.

Scotty couldn't help staring at the door after the doctor shooed them out. His phone vibrated in his pocket and he looked to see a text from his dad reading, 'U home yet?' Scotty quickly replied 'On my way!' He put Cole's ipod in his backpack planing on giving it to him tomorrow. He slung the backpack over his shoulder put his hat on and began to leave.

There was a knock on the door followed by a voice "Scott? Get up, boy! Breakfast is ready!" his dad called.

Scotty groaned sitting up and rubbing his neck. He looked at his phone to check the time then went to the kitchen.

Cole pulled on his clothes and shrugged on his hoodie, slowly but surely walking downstairs.
"Morning Cole, how are you feeling?" his mom called, finishing up making belgian waffles. Cole simply sat down at the table a shrugged, begining to eat his waffles. "Cole...I signed you up for speech therapy." Cole dropped his fork and stared up at his mother.

Scotty entered the kitchen were his Dad sat with two plates of bacon -n- eggs.

"Mom leave already?" he asked sitting down and sliding one of the plates over to himself.

"Mhhm..." his Dad replied. Scotty started eating and the kitchen got awkwardly quiet for awhile, then his Dad spoke up "Are gonna see Cole today?"

Scotty swallowed his mouthful of food and looked at him across the table "Ummm, yeah. I need to give him his Ipod back." Scotty replied simply. His Dad was staring at him thoughtfully. Scotty looked down and started eating again, when he was finished he stood up and put his dish in the sink then pushed in his chair. "Can he come over tonight?" Scotty asked getting an energy drink out of the fridge.

"If it's okay with his parents, but remember I have to stay at work late tonight!" His Dad replied. Scotty nodded hurrying back to his room to get ready.

Scotty was starring in the mirror fixing his hair, when he noticed the reflection of his guitar that now sat in the corner of his room. He turned and walked over to it, 'I wonder if I can still play?' he thought picking it up and holding it. 'Bing!' his phone chimed making Scotty jump and drop his guitar onto the floor with a thud. He picked it up and leaned it against the wall before grabbing his phone and looking at it. When he read the text he hurried out of his room into the hall were his Dad was walking out the front door.

"Dad! Cole's on his way over!" he called.

"Alright!" he replied scribbling onto a piece of paper "Here's mine and your mother's work number, if you guys need us!" he said. Scotty nodded and his Dad left. Scotty hurried back to his room and began going through his drawer pulling out a note book and a pen trowing them onto the bed next to his laptop.

Scotty read the note then looked at Cole "A therapist? But therapy's for crazy people! You're not nuts, you just don't talk!" he obliged.

Scotty thought a moment, "Well speech therapists are for people with speech impediments, or people who are trying to regain their speech after accidents... not guys who just wake up one mornin' and don't wanna talk." he voiced his thoughts out-loud.

Scotty thought a minute "Some of the guys from school, the ones we skate with, are havin' a party down on the beach. Wanna go check it out?" he asked picking up his hat.
