Audrey rolled her eyes as Tony yelled at the trio as they fled, finding his call a bit childish. She nodded a greeting to Kat, trying to be friendly and polite. "They call me Drey," she stated simply. "It's nice to meet you."

Kat hid the immediate pain with anger. "No!" she replied, venom clear in her harsh voice. "I can take care of myself!" Her tail lashed furiously, and she turned around, a soft snarl accompanying the motion.

"Geeze Scouty," Audrey huffed as she looked at Scotty. "She doesn't need anyone to take care of her just cause she's young." Audrey hated when people were judged on who they were physically. "Don't be so ignorant."
Audrey turned back to Kat. "Hey don't worry Kat," she said. "He don't know what he's taking about. I'm sure you're perfectly capable of taking care of yourself."

At least the talk about parents had somewhat stopped. Kat struggled to push away the pain again, focusing on taking deep breaths. After a moment or two, she calmed down to some extent. She turned to face Scotty again. "Sorry," she forced herself to say. "Parents are just...a sore subject for me, okay?"

Sweetheart? Audrey growled quietly, folding her ears back. The harmless name infuriated her. It took all she had to keep silent and not explode on Scotty. She kept her mouth shut and kept her attention on everything else.

"It's alright," Kat murmured. Even if she hadn't been waht some called "anti-social", she would've felt a bit out of place. Everyone was so much older than her. Toby seemed the closest to her age, bit he was still much taller than her. So far she liked Audrey the best, though. She seemed the nicest and most understanding...then again, she had only known them for a little less than ten minutes.
