Trav laughed nervously. "Oh, yeah, that's right." He grinned in an effort to erase the embarrassment. He pulled it out of his back pocket and opened it up, signaling Charlie and Devin to come up by his sides and take a look. "It says there should be some pokemon here, here, and here." He pointed to different areas on the map.

But little did they know, that instead of finding just the usual caterpies, weedles, pidgeys, and rattatas, they would find some pokemon a little rarer. Ones that had found their way to that area merely by accident, but would fuel the trainer's mission and journeys for good.

"Uh, there looks the closest," Devin said, glancing over Trav's shoulder at the map. She was personally hoping for a Pidgey, or maybe a Weedle.

"Oh awesome! Let's go!" Charlie said starting to walk in the direction he thought it was, hoping for maybe a Eevee so he could evolve it into a Jolteon! Or maybe any other electric type Pokemon!

ooc: ...I can write stories about wolves that can go on for maybe a page or two...but only one or two sentences for POkemon? D: that sucks.

Trav grinned. "Alright then, let's go!" He said, and began running in that direction. Every now and then he checked the map and the surroundings of the area to see where they were and if they were on the right track. So far, so good.

When they got there, Trav's eyes glittered. There was a... vulpix in the middle of the field?? What the???

OOC: LOL. I know I usually write paragraphs but pokemon are hard... If you guys take a look at this, I think we should each pick one from the first box past the more common pokemon. Since it's kinda the plot that they're lucky and stuff.

A Vulpix? Wow, this was amazing! Devin had expected Weedle and Caterpie, not a Vulpix. And what the-?! There was a Sandshrew right next to it, digging around in the dirt. She had always liked Sandshrew...this would be a great Pokemon to catch.

Charlie was looking around, and he happened to glance over at a tree, where a Pikachu laid, sleeping under the shade.
"....Guys..." he whispered as he watched the Pikachu sleep. "..there's...a Pikachu..right..there..." he said, trying to keep his voice down so he wouldn't disturb any of the Pokemon. He just stood, staring at the Pikachu like he was a deer in headlights.


ooc: XD sorry for such a common Pokemon. I wanted to stick with the electric type..Since that's Charlie's Pokemon type xDD

OOC: lol no problem. Trav will be fire type XD

Trav looked at his friends in astonishment. "Woah, you guys... this is just... wow." He tried to keep his voice as calm and quiet as possible. "I'm going to try and catch that vulpix. If it doesn't belong to anyone, it should go in right?" He said, and creeped up behind the vulpix.

It was using it's paw to try and pull back the slicks on it's head, and it's nine tails moved ever so slightly back and forth. Almost in a tail wagging motion. It seemed too engrossed in whatever it was doing to pay attention to the footsteps in the back of its hearing, and so, never noticed Trav until it was suddenly swept up and curled into a pokeball. All in a flash of light.

The vulpix pounded and fought to get out, but after a few seconds, the lock was sealed and it was captured. It now belonged to Trav. Trav held up the pokeball in astonishment, amazement, and pure and utter disbelief. "Oh my gosh... I caught it?! I mean.. I caught it!" He was so excited. "They usually say it doesn't work!" He still was trying to keep his voice quiet for the most part, seeing as his friends needed a chance to grab a pokemon too.

He brought out the vulpix and it made a delighted sound. It curled up against Trav's ankle and Trav smiled. He brought it up in his arms and giggled as it licked his face ever so gently. "My first pokemon..." he whispered. "A vulpix. Who would have thought? I guess it's luck." He grinned.

"My turn now!" Devin said, eyes sparkling in excitement. She fumbled for a Pokeball, and tossed it at the active Sandshrew. The Pokeball hit it in the head, and it was soon in the ball. A few tense seconds...and then the lock sealed. She had caught a Sandshrew!

She picked up the ball in awe, then let it out. "Sandshrew!" it called out happily. Devin, grinning widely, took up the Pokemon in her arms. She looked over at Trav. "Who cares about your Vulpix?" she asked teasingly, bumping his shoulder. "I caught a Sandshrew!"

"Then there was one," Charlie chuckled and turned to the Pikachu, walking closer to it.
The Pikachu sat up, just waking up and stared forward at Charlie, trying to figure out what he was doing. Suddenly Charlie thrw the Pokeball.
One...Two...Three...Four...Five seconds passed then the Pokeball locked. Charlie finally had fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams. He caught a Pokemon! He couldn't believe it!
He let the Pikachu out of the Pokeball after a few seconds and picked it up. This was possibly the happiest moment of his life!

Trav turned to Devin who too had caught her own pokemon. Trav laughed and looked at his vulpix. He turned back to Devin and shook his head, still laughing. "A sandshrew? Please. My vulpix can take your sandshrew anytime!" He said as a teasing response.

Then he turned to Charlie and grinned. "This is so cool! We got our very first pokemon! Wait till everyone finds out! And not only that, they're awesome pokemon too!" He was so excited he could practically explode.

"As if!" Devin retorted, unable to stop smiling as she hugged her Pokemon. "Shrew!" Sandshrew agreed. Devin's grin widened. "We should start putting up signs," she added jokingly. "You know, that way everyone would know we caught really awesome Pokemon our first try."

Charlie laughed.
"Signs? Let's get an airplane to spell it out!" he said, jokingly. "I can see it now..'Trav, Devin, and Charlie got their first Pokemon! And on their first try!' Get the plane to do flips and stuff too. Make it to where people HAVE to look at it." he laughed.

"Or a giant blimp!" Devin added enthusiastically. "And we could parachute down into the middle of the town and announce it even more!"

Trav was seeming not to notice as Charlie and Devin discussed ways on how to get their new additions noticed. However, while they did that, Trav was both listening to their conversation and thinking of what they should do next. When he finally got an idea, he grinned as he said, "We should go level them up!" He said.

Vulpix gave a happy 'Vul!' in response and followed Trav as he bounded off to the grass again.

"Yea! Sounds like Skydiving! And skydiving id fuu-" He was cut off by Trav, then he smiled. "We should leavel 'em up!"
