"Oh, have you not heard?" Zira inquired as she padded around Kwanza "It seems your son has developed quite a crush on Kovu's eldest daughter. It's the perfect oppertunity for us to take back the throne in the name of Scar!"

Zira knew it was a long shot but she couldn't let this oppertunity go to waste, Rasul didn't hold much value in Kwanza's eyes and that was probably for the best, it wouldn't matter as much if he was killed in the process.

Zira smirked at Kwanza's question.

"What better way to get the Pridelanders to surrenderr than to threaten their weakest spot? If we have the princess then Kovu will have no option but to obey our wishes, he wouldn't dare let any of his children get hurt." she explained "And, if Rasul should fail, I have my apprentice in the pride, Kivuli. I believe you have met her."

It was too perfect, everything was falling neatly into place. Kivuli's role was to relay information and she had been the one to sell out Rasul to Zira.

(I didn't even realize you replied!)

Kwanza began to smile, even wider, he knew who Zira was talking about, and he thought she had been doing an excellent job.

"Yes, I remember her, she's an excellent spy, I give you that" he said, raising an eyebrow with a sly smile. Then, he chuckled evily and continued his sentence:

"Oh, Zira, I must admit, you are the master of deception"

Zira's smirk, if possible, grew wider at Kwanza'a words

"My dear Kwanza, when you have been doing as long as I, deception becomes as easy as breathing. I'll take my leave now. You can tell your mate that your 'walk' has been very productive today."

With that the tan lioness skunk away once more.

Kala had no idea what had gotten into Chaka lately, since Penda had left the Pridelands he'd suddenly developed a protective streak a mile wide. Unfortunately for her and Jia, that meant he always insisted on accompanying them wherever they went. Thankfully, Kala had escaped Chaka for the moment.

The princess approached the Watering Hole but she let out a deafeated sigh. She'd been hoping to see Rasul once more, she had to admit that she found herself quite fond of his company, but he was nowhere to be found today.

Kala turned her head with a smile to look at Rasul, her cheeks turned slightly red at the complimet n s ducked her head so Rasul wouldn't see.

"Hi Rasul." she said "It's good to see you."

Suddenly remembering about her brother, and his new overprotectivness, she glanced around but to her relief foun he was nowhere in sight. Her smile widened at the thought of a while alone with Rasul.

"I'm fine." Kala replied looking at Raul once more "My brother's been seeing to that a lot recently."

Kala had a nagging suspiscion that Chaka's overprotectiveness was partially the work of her father, trying to keep her from seeing Rasul...or Rasul seeing her. She didn't voice this thought aloud but she knew Chaka would kick up a huge fuss if he discovered Rasul in the Pridelands.

"So how have you been?" she asked.
