Even good gaming compainies like Capcom have screwed up games before. (DevilMayCry2) To take a movie like Balto and make a great video game is not an easy task.
On the other hand it would give Balto some good publicity. Even if the game was bad, I would still buy it.
(Off topic, but I love you new sig baltolover99)
I totally agree and thanks, but they should try it and find out Balto is a great movie with a lot of good ideas and lessons and I think it should be seen.

The company matters alot. If someone like square-enix took a crack at it, it could easily be wonderful. But, if it went somewhere like EA games, it would sell to younger children, but it would probably be... *cough* not good...
Capcom isn't bad, but it isn't the best either. They've made some fairly good things before, but they've had their fair share of messups too. -_-. If universal could get ahold of Square-Enix, then we can be reassured, it'll be good. ^^

Errr, Square Enix making a Balto game, and Universal controling it...There's absolutely 99.999% of chances it will never happen...
However, I think that if Universal decides to make one, they would use a newly-created studio, or a little one to make it. That doesn't mean it would be bad, I even have more faith on the young developers than the big nowadays. (big companies only know how to make sequels to video games, and it is what is getting me away from my old passion for the video games. I don't like the recent Square productions, either - to me they stopped making awesome games since the end of the psone)
Universal did "the chronicles of riddick" on xbox, and even if I hate FPS games, this one is one of the best FPS ever made. And it wasn't really experimented developers who made it.
Capcom are good developers overall, they made Resident evil 4 which seems to me like the best game of this generation of consoles. (I'm glad I have a cube I'll wait to buy it cheaper, though, I never buy my games new and besides I don't have much time to play these days)

Personally, as cool as it would be, I do not see it happening. Balto did not make a great deal of money and I do not think making a video game would be very profitable. IMO, it would be too risky for the game people and Universal.

No, I have to disagree with that. There are a lot of games that are made with a small budget (Universal even did a Land before time two or three years ago). But it's sure that it's becoming more and more difficult with the new platforms that requires more and more high budgets. BTW, it will be a disaster with the new next gen platforms when they come out - I'm talking about PS3, Xbox2 and Revolution...Only big companies with big projects will be able to work on them, and without taking risks, so you'll only see sequels and sequels and...sequels of sequels to sequels (not kidding, look at what they've done with Need for speed, making a sequel to a sub-series (NFS underground 2), and it's becoming more and more frequent

If they were going to make a Balto game, what type would it be?(Action, RPG, etc...). If any thing I would say Action Adventure, but I still think it would be hard to pull off.
As for square I agree that there is only a 00.01% chance they would make a Balto game. Also, I don't see where square had dropped in quality. I must only be playing their good games. What was wrong with FFX, FFX-2, or Kingdom Hearts? As for Capcom, they have issues with plot loopholes. Ever play DevilMayCry2? A horrible sequal in terms of the plot. It never explained how it conected to the origonal game. If any one has played the MegamanX series then you know what I'm talking about. Their games are still fun to play though.

I was saying since Balto the movie was not that popular, I do not think a video game would go over well.

Yes, Ubi Soft would be a good choice. They already made some "family" or "kids" games, and they aren't that bad. And of course, their big productions are great : splinter cell, prince of persia, beyond good & evil (I loved this last one! And it's a french game, that's enough rare... )
