It's relly cool to make huge theories but don't see what's lying on the surface.
A king is military power of a pride in TLK. That's what Nala's quest for. So a heir is only male and there's no reason to make presentation for a girl. There're many ways how kings can solve a problem with the lack of the male among their children if they happend to be so unlucky. The simplest way is makeing one of the pride lionesses son a heir (With any common sense from Simba who must secure the future of his pride Kovu has no chances even to be included in line). But why make presentation for every cub especially if royal family can have a son in the future?
The main problem that if Disney had any respect to TLK this topic would never start. I've spent thousands of hours trying to explain logical problems with SP and why it can't be glued up with TLK SNA. So my feelings about the whole thing may be discribed by single picture.
In my own head canon the cub's name is Tanabi as in most important TLK-fandfctions ever created.
