Kodi shook out his fur, holding his ears as Pakak sang. He growled. "Okay, okay! I get what you're saying, I've got bad luck!" he said, gritting his teeth, he shook his head. "But... It can't be because of what happened... Even if it is, how could I stop it from giving me bad luck?" he asked, looking at the two/


Belladonna grinned, stretching. "How do I know? We don't even know about your problems, boy. But a lot of good can come from repenting."



OOC: I could see it taking on a jazz tune. I thouht it'd be good to end it when Pakak told him straight he had bad luck.

"Well, my boy, you see there are many ways to get bad luck," said Sakak, coming around behind him and looking up at him. "Maybe finding out how you got jinxed will help remove it. I don't think ether of us have crossed your path yet," he said. "Tell me, doggie, have you broken any mirrors lately?"

OOC: Yeah, good idea.

"I guess I'll come along," said Dusty. "I still feel rotten though."

"Momma...will karma give papa bad luck?" asked Cachen, a little worried.

Dusty winced at that, knowing Kodi had done more than just that, he was being quite self centered.

Kodi shook his head. "No, no..." he said "No mirrors, no ladders, no salt. But what could give ne bad luck?" he asked himself, before looking surprised. "It can't be what I did... Can it?"

Belladonna smiled and leaned into Pakak, whispering to him. "This is easier than I thought it'd be."

Katie shook her head, shrugging lightly. "I'm not sure baby." she said, not wanting to hurt them by saying yes. She sniffed the air. "I smell salt water, we're close to Grandpa."


Tai smiled at Dusty, wagging her tail. "Mama knows you're sorry, so don't feel guilty, it wasn't your fault."

OOC: He probably shouldn't believe it that easily, there'd not be much of a story otherwise, and Kodi is very stubborn.

"My dear boy, did you do something bad?" asked Sakak, shaking his head. "Oh, Karmic bad luck, that's the worst kind," he said, sitting down and licking his paw. "Good luck charms don't work, repenting doesn't help, only one thing will turn that kind of luck around," he said, smirking. "Setting things right, that's the only way. If you don't, this is how your luck will stay. Set right what you've done wrong, that's the only way for that kind of bad luck to be undone." he explained, looking him in the eye. "If that's the case for you, that's the only one thing that'll do. If you don't turn things right, bad luck comes with all its might. Until right is what you make, the worse turn your luck will take," he said, then chuckled. "Of course that's IF its karma and not just you've become the play thing of some spirit, that happens from time to time."

Balto set on his boat with Jenna. "I can't believe Kodi did this..." he said, disappointed. "If he'd broken up with her then gone to Dusty, I wouldn't be so disappointed but cheating under both their noses? That's just rotten..."

Cachen nuzzled his mother, but he was still worried. Kodi and Katie were a good couple, this just seemed...wrong, like something that absolutely shouldn't be.

"It's not so much her forgiving me," said Dusty to Kai. "It's me forgiving myself."

Belladonna snickered at the last part, and nodded with concern. "Oh dear, you are right, you have to make things right if you've done something wrong."

Kodi shook hishead abd stood, shaking his fur off. "No... That's not it." he walked over the cats, scowling. "Everythig is fine. It was just a realy bad coincedence. Just, leave me alone."

Jenna nodded, looking upset. "We may hae seperated once or twice... But neither of us ever gave our children the impression that something like this was okay." she said, extremely dissapointed. Looking over the boat, she blinked. "Is that Katie coming with the pups?"


Katie smiled and nuzzled Cachen back, her tail wagging.


Tai nodded, concerned. "How can you not forgive yourself? You should. You can't blain yourself for all of this."

Sakak chuckled and shrugged. "Alright, well if you don't think it's karma, I'd suggest finding yourself some lucky charms and seeing if that'll do the trick," he explained. "I with you good luck," he said, chuckling at the last part. "Come my dear," he said to Belladonna, heading outside.

Balto nodded. "I know, Kodi's going to learn the hard way that this is very wrong," he said, looking over. "Yeah, that's them, I hope Katie is alright..."

"Momma...will everything be ok?" asked Cachen, having a natural reaction to his parents splitting up.

"It's hard to explain," said Dusty. "Maybe you'll get it when you're older."

Kodi rolled his eyes, Watching the two cats leave. He sighed abd stretched, looking glumly at the ground. He Didn't need to make amends... He had no bad luck. He certainly had no bad karma either!

Katie smiled, nuzzling Cachen tenderly as she hit the beach. "I promise you, little North Star, I will make everything better for you four..." she said as she licked his cheek.

Jenna smiled softly. "The least we can do is make sure they have fun right now. Poor pups, this must be hard for them."

Sakak chuckled, returning to his true form. "That kid is hard headed, even Steele caught on quicker!" he said. "Alright, she said help the pups and teach the boy a lesson," he said. "Hope about we go see the pups?"

"Momma, can we play on the beach?" asked Lena. "We haven'te played on the beach in awhile," she said, truthfully, though, she just wanted to talk with her siblings.

Balto nodded. "...I don't think they're meant to be apart though..." he said. "Kodi messed up...but it doesn't feel like they should be apart forever."

Belladonna sighed gently, returning to her form. "Hes so stubborn! Even his father isn't so stubborn." she said, angry.

Katie nodded, nudging Lena sweetly. "Go ahead and play with your sister and brothers sweetie." she said, walking the beach. She looked at Balto abd Jenna with a smile, sitting down on the beach.

Tai smiled and trotted by Lena, nodding. "You wanna talk, right?" she whispered, Kai coming up with a nod.

Jenna nodded, going down the boat's gangplank. "I know, but what can we do?" she asked, concerned.

"I know," said Sakak. "But hey, we get to have more fun with him," he said, walking towards the beach. He then snapped his fingers, causing the boiler to die out. "A touch more bad luck."

Lena nodded. "Yeah..." she replied, smirking.

Cachen followed. "I knew I wasn't the only worried one."

Balto nodded, jumpping down to the beach. "Well, we'll have to talk to her."

Fang looked to Katie. "Your pups are great."

Belladonna smirked, nuzzling Pakak. "You positively evil litle mischief maker!" she said as she headed towards the beach.

Kai chuckled. "We're all worried, Cachen."

Tai smiled softly, tail curling. "Is Momma acting odd? I mean, she's happy, not sad."

Jenna sighed. "Of course we have to, if anything I want to make sure she's okay."

Katie nodded. "They're such wonderful pups..." she said, wagging her tail.

"Alright, so we stay invisible to the adults and not the kids or take on a different form?" asked Sakak. "Let the pups know who we are but not the adults."

"I don't think she's really happy," said Lena. "I think she's sad but hiding it so not to worry us," she explained. "Tai, can't you do that one thing where you feel what someone is thinking with momma?"

Balto nodded and walked over to Katie. "Hey Katie...how are you doing?"

Dusty tried not to look Balto or Jenna in the eye, they could tell she felt guilty.

"Shape shifting takes a lot out of me. Let's just stay invisible to the adults." Belladonna said, looking at the beach.

Tai shook her head sadly. "Momma is really good at blocking her emotions."


Kai sighed. "What are we gonna do? We all know they're not supposed to be broken up."


Katie smiled, her tail wagging. "Balto, Jenna... I'm just fine. I've just got things to do, and icwas hoping you could watch the pups. I'd be so grateful if you did."

Sakak nodded. "Yeah, I'm sure there's something we can do," he said. "Those pups are smart, after all."

Lena nodded with a sigh. "Maybe in that way, but I can tell," she said. "Momma's unhappy...I bet papa is unhappy or will realize it soon enough..."

Cachen nodded. "I just want our family to be happy again..." he whined, tears running down his face he'd been hiding from his mother.

Balto nodded. "Of course..." he said, then looked to Jenna, reconizing Dusty's look. "Jenna, please go talk to Dusty," he whispered. He looked back to Katie. "We'd love to."

Katie smiled. "Thank you so much, I really have to go. I think there's going to be a storm soon and I want everything ready." she said as she stood. "And you know how they are- you turn your back on them for a minute and they're off on some adventure." she said with a laugh. "Ill see you, say, sundown to take them home?" she asked, walking away.


Tai licked Cachen's cheek. "Don't cry Cachen, we'll get everything back to normal." she said, looking sad.


Kai nodded, looking angry. "Of course she's sad. We all are. But we're fixing that."


Jenna nodded and went over to Dusty. "Dusty, are you okay? You'll get a crick in your neck if you keep your head like that." she said, trying to keep it lighthearted, even though she knew why Dusty wouldn't look at them.
