I really think people that have to resort to making sparkledogs/vampire dogs/ and whatever else are just crying for attention because they can't make a NORMAL character good. xD


Ralph's color can occur naturally in nature though. I guess he's just special. Technically speaking it would mean he'd have to be mixed with another breed, but that color still is possible. Now the sparklefans can't wine about him at least being physicaly impossible lol.

There's really no such thing as a "good" sparkledog. It's (99.9% of the time) a wolf with horrid colors, emo hair, and tons of human accessories. Sparkledogs don't belong here. At all. On the rules as they are it says they have to fit into the Balto universe. And last time I checked, there weren't any of those eyesores running around in the Balto movies. (OH? There's that key word again : BALTO). This isn't "OC Source". If you're really that desperate to show off your 'speshul snowflake' then mosey on over to devinatART where they don’t care how many people you cause to go blind by the rainbow colored mutts.

Rofl. I don't have creativity because I can take a character, make it look real, and not make it a piece of crap? Oh yeah, that screams how uncreative I am. A green wolf is far from creative. It makes the person that 'created' the character look like a three year old kid. Like it has been said, the TRUE uncreative people are the ones that need every color of the rainbow to make a character.

And for the people who sit there and cry about how (the one example I've seen so far) "Well Kiona is brick red so why isn't she a sparkle dog???" Really now? You can't think of a better argument after having your snowflake being labled as a sparkledog that you have to attack a real fan character? In case you forgot, Kiona is an artist's version of one of the unnamed puppies who all ready had the fur color of bright red.

If I were you, I'd do my research. We can't even argue with you because we have to explain the situation to you. So you're hardly worth acknowledging.

Sparkledogs (and I use the term loosely) belong on Furaffinity and deviantArt. Not Balto Source. Simple and plain.

Oh god every time I hear "YOU JUST HATE CREATIVITY" or "LET US BE CREATIVE" as an argument for letting sparkledogs on the site I want to shove my fist through my computer screen.

The argument implies that you can't be creative with natural colors. Frankly, if you can't be creative without insisting on having no boundaries, you are not creative. That's the point of creativity, to come up with something rockin' within your current set scope. Sounds to me like people whining they can't have their sooper unique vampire wolves or speshul fursonas on the site, both of which have no place on BS. (Small tangent but why are fursonas still allowed?)

All it comes down to is the fact that this is BALTO Source, not Original Character Source. Want Original Character Source? It's called DeviantArt, knock yourself out.

Everyone playing the part of the censored, indignant artist fighting for creative freedom: please stop. it is making me very sad. Nobody is stopping anybody from creating anything. If you think that one private website having a rule against uploading fantasy dogs is robbing you of your deserved freedoms you're delusional.

There have been times in history when artists have been persecuted and their work destroyed by iconoclasts and banned by the government and uhm. this is just not one of those times.

this is just arguing about putting non-Balto things on a Balto site.

You're missing the point.

The Fan Characters sections of each source are for fan created characters that fit into the movie world and story.

So lets analyze that shall we?
Jenna was red, background characters were natural shades of blue, purple and yellow for variation. Stands to reason that characters like these fit into the world.
Now remember they must fit into the story too; so if one of them has a story that is "Lives in New York and has seen Balto's statue" - it doesn't belong. If one has a story that is "Lives in Nome and is on the sled team with Kodi, Dusty, Ralph and Kirby" - it belongs!

However, a character that looks like this or this obviously doesn't belong.

Basically, it's just being sensible about your character designs.
AS is not the place for all of your OCs - Fan Characters for the movies with a source ONLY.

We're not saying "members aren't allowed to be creative" (which is silly anyway, you can be creative with only 2 bland colours) but what we are saying is "keep your characters related to the movies and not just any random character you feel like".

This is Animation Source; not "Characters Source".

Look at them. Those characters are nice, creative, interesing and realistic. You don't need sparkles to create an unique character... Stop whinning. You are just too lazy to think up some good designs and stories if you need sparkles to make them "creative".
Now YOU go to deviantart yourself where the sparkledogs belong and stop begging for them in Balto realated site. YOU are rude one here.

Ironic how one of those examples was by Jordan, who made this rant in the first place. Why the complaining is beyond me.
