"Well its true." said Cynder, smiling. "I'm sure if there were other males our age they wouldn't act like that to me...a lot of dragons still treat me like a monster." she said, slightly saddened at that. "But at least Ember looks up to me, she might have annoyed me, but it still feels good to meet another dragon that doesn't judge me on our first meeting for when I was 'Terror of the Skies'."

Cynder smiled. "Thanks Spyro...you always know what to saw." she said smiling. "I just wish Sparx agreed."

"What? What do you mean?" asked Sparx, a little nerviously, know what she meant. This comment earned him a glare. "Alright! I know I give you grief for it, but I'm just fooling!" he said. "...Well now anyway, I admit it, three years ago, I did mean if, but not anymore...you did live up to your promise, remember?"

Cynder thought back, remembering. Sparx had made her promise to watch over Spyro as they traveled to the Burned Lands, him having had to stay behind, as he wasn't durable enough to survive there. It was akward, given their relationship, but she still apprciated it. "Yeah Sparx...I did." she said. "Thanks." she explained. She then looked to Spyro. "Well...we adopted that egg...looks like you're a father now." she said, smiling.

Ember looked to Combustio. "Hi Combustio, how are you doing today?" she asked. "Spyro and Cynder are pretty cool, aren't they?"

Cynder gave him a nuzzle. "Spyro, you're the Purple Dragon that saved the world, what kid wouldn't love having a hero for a father?" she asked. "I don't see what there's not to like about you...Sparx on the otherhand..."

"Hey!" yelled Sparx. "What's that supposed to mean?!"

Ember nodded, smiling to Bust and then heading to her own room, which had a shrine to Spyro in her closet.

"I guess I deserved that," said Sparx. "So, any name ideas for the kid?"

"Naming ideas? Sparx, we don't even know its gender yet, or what it looks like, or what its personality is." said Cynder, a little confused. "It's so confusing."

Cynder nodded. "Yeah..." she said, remembering. "...Is it strange I remember when I hatched?" she asked. "I think maybe its because for the rest of my life after that until you set me free, that was the only happy moment I'd ever had to reflect on."

Cynder chuckled. "Yeah, he's still a little clumsy...actually, they weren't there when I hatched...no one was, maybe that's why I was happy, a part of me knew I was in for a hard run..."

Flashback:

Cynder scratched and pecked at the egg shell around her, knowing it was her time to come out. The egg broke and she had to keep her eyes held shut for a few moments to get used to light at all. When she did, she noticed she was in a large cave, a nest built around her egg to keep it warm to hatch. She got free of the egg shell and wobbly started walking around the little nest, seeing crystals around her that were to give her energy and light the room. She didn’t really care, in fact she only had one care in her entire world preventing her from care freely enjoying it. She went over to a crystal and absorbed the energy, since she couldn't eat solid yet and dragons didn't partake in milk, it'd be all she'd eat for awhile.

Full and content, she curled up in her nest and let herself fall asleep. A part of her wondered why her mother or no one else was here yet. But she was indepentent by nature, even at this age, and a part of her felt she should be happy to be alone at this moment...unfortunately, that part was right.

"And that's what I remember...that first sleep is the only time in my entire life I've had a truely calm slumber." said Cynder, remembering. "Spyro can testimant to that..." she said, even sleeping with Spyro, she'd often have moments of unease as she sleapt, rememeberence of the horrible past she'd had. On the worst nights, she'd wake up screaming or sobbing at her past memories, the most horrible ones. "Volteer...I have this one dream...its the worst of them all...I dreamt that when I was that...monster...I killed this dragon...and she tried to talk me down by saying...she was...she was my mother...but I didn't listen..." she said, then looked to Volteer and Terrador seriously. "...Did I do it?...Is my dream real?...Did I...did I kill my own mother?" she asked.

OOC: Your choice. Personally, I feel this would be something running through Cynder's mind with all the blood on her claws.

ooc: I think that's a good idea. It would explain why Cynder's mother is never mentioned in the games.

Volteer sighed, for once not knowing what to say. Finally after a while he spoke. "I-It may be a possibility...But then again it may not be true." Said Volteer, not wanting to tell the young dragon the full truth. Volteer remembered when he and Cyril had been out flying over the area, looking for signs of Cynder or danger...And then they saw something, and they landed. It was a female dragon, one they recognised...Dead.

Terrador, being the more straight forwards of the Guardians and knowing more than anything, Cynder needed closure, put a paw on her back. "Cynder...I'm sorry young one, but it's true...Volteer and Cyril found her dead...the dragons with her said you did it...I know this is hard...but you need to know...otherwise closure will never come..."

Cynder gasped, staggering back. She sunk into a sitting posture, tears starting down her face. "I...I killed her?" she asked aloud, beginning to sob. "How can I be a good mother...when I killed mine?!" she asked, horrified by this fact. "I'm a monster..."

"Hang on a minute, you're not a monster Cynder. You were under Malefor's control, it wasn't your fault..If it was anyone's fault, it was Malefor's." Said Spyro.

ooc: Writers block, I'm a bit sick today.

"I know I'm normally the one who says its your fault just to bug you, but this time, I agree with Spyro," said Sparx, knowing this wasn't something to joke about.

Cynder turned to Spyro and per her head over his shoulder, seeking comfort. "Spyro...I want to be a mother so bad...but...even if it was Malefor's doing...I killed my mother..." she sobbed. "I just...I just don't know how I feel..."

"Young dragon," said Terrador. "I knew your mother, she was a great dragoness, but she never gave up on you...she always said that your weren't a monster...she still believed their was good in you...I don't think Malefor making you kill her would change her mind, she was too stubborn about it...I just wish we'd listened to her...maybe if we had, we'd have saved you sooner..."
