Derrek set his gaze unsteadily at the new guy's face. "Dangerous? Pfft. I come here all the time," He said rather cooly, but not at all in a joking manner. He studied the kid, making sure he wasn't just a spy before making a decision. "Why, are you?" He finally asked. He took another breath through his nose and realized there was yet another were in this forest. The scent seemed slightly familiar and slightly not. He couldn't tell for sure whether he knew that one or not, simply because the creature was so far off at the moment.

Derrek was pulled out of any current thoughts when a small canine voice became audible to his ears. He slowly turned to see Treya. "Treya! Good to see ya'!" His voice, at once, became more enthusiastic and cheerful, that is... until he saw her limp leg. "Treya... are you alright? Your leg..." he trailed off.

Derrek replied this time with that same cool tone, but in a bit of a joking matter as well, now that he knew for a fact that this person was actually a were. He turned for nothing more than a minute away from Treya and said in response, "Listen man, school is for worthless humans who have no choice. Us on the other hand? We have worse problems than acne or finding 'the one'. We deal with the fact that everyday we're at risk of dying from something or someone. By someone, I think you know what I mean." The someone he was referring to, was of course, vampires. "So, no. We don't really go to school that often. Why should we? We'll be around long enough to find out all the stuff anyways. It's not like we're ever gonna get jobs and be normal."

He turned back to Treya, but while still looking at her, he said one more thing to Sevrin. "Nice to meet ya, though. The name's Derrek. This is Treya." Without another word, he took a hold of Treya's paw, as gently as he possibly could. "You alright?"

Derrek looked into Treya's eyes and said, "Don't worry, we'll fix it somehow." He turned back to Sevrin and gave a roll of the eyes. "Listen tough guy." the comment was dripping with sarcasm. "We don't need you telling us we're weak. We handle just fine. I've been a were all of a few months and guess what? I had to battle those stinkin' blood suckers this entire time. The day I turned I had to face one. Why the heck do you think I even turned out like this? The stupid werewolf that turned me was idiot enough to be influenced by a leech. He got talked into turning me this way."

That bit of history, he had never told anyone, not even Treya. Anger tended to get the best of him, though. He didn't know what he had said until it was too late. "Oh god... did I just say that out loud?" His tone was purely fearful. He initially hadn't wanted anyone to know. Now, it was too late to take back his words. His history was out.

Treya's eyes flashed in anger, and she stood up impulsively. A soft cry of pain followed the motion, and she quickly sank back towards the ground, though her glare never strayed from Sevrin's face. She was trying not to reply to Derrek's outburst; by the look on his face, it was obvious he hadn't meant to spill.

"Don't you dare call me weak!" she seethed, steam practically coming out of her ears. "Or I'll show you what I can do." A wolf-like snarl accompanied the words, and she bared her teeth at Sevrin, both an act of pain and rage.

((Sorry. I just didn't know where to come in and I didn't want to make my post to short.))

Ticsso continued listening from a distance, unsure whether to show himself. After hearing everyone starting to get defensive, he decided that he should try to bring a bit of peace. Stepping out, he looked at everyone. "Woah, why is everyone flaring up?" He asked. "The guy just feels we need our education, that's all. Sure it won't help us in survival but... Its something..." He finished rather lamely. He didn't know how they would react to his presence.
