"Why do you carry that thing? " She asked, eyeing his scythe.

"Oh - we're just busy busy busy!" Lock said. Shock stepped in, "Don't you have something to do?" She impaitently asked Jack.

"Yes, I do, but that's none of your concern." Jack replied, now looking suspicious. "What are you three so busy with?"

"I just do." He replied as he stuck the scythe back in the ground. "I've heard before bad things have happened so its good to have something."

"Bad things? Like what?" Annie asked, she seemed interested.

Barrell was whispering something to Lock. "Thats non of your concern." She said, mocking him. She giggled and the other two followed in on the laughing.

"They say there was this monster, Oogie Boogie, before you and I were around." Emirme said, scratching his chin thoughtfully.

Jack shook his head. "Just stay out of trouble." He said, pointing at each of them before walking past them.

Lock proceded in mocking Jack as he left.

"Oh?" Annie asked, wondering who this thing had been.

"Hm..." The werewolf lay on his back, tapping his fingers idly. "Apparently, if I remember right, he was a giant sack full of bugs that made him keep the shape of a big fat ghost. He loved to gamble, or so I heard."

Jack took another look around, and saw the graveyard gate ajar. He strode toward it, having a feeling he knew who was there already.

"A pillow with a gambling problem?" Annie had to laugh at that. Then she heard Jack comming. She spun around.

Emirme laughed also until the gate creaked open, and he went silent.

"Hello Annie, Emirme." Jack said, arms crossed.

"Hello Daddy." Annie said in a much sweeter tone than usually. She was atempting to get on Jack's good side.

Emirme had learned from experience that she only did this with Jack around. "Hey Mister Skellington." He said, trying to be respectful.

"What have I told you about sneaking out Annie." Jack said, ignoring the werewolf.

Annie looked at Emirme as if for help, but then looked back at her father.
"Not to..go out." She said, as if reciting something she's repeated so many times.

"Without permission." Jack finished, with the same tone as his daughter. The werewolf felt uncomfortable with these two together.

"Without premission." She repeated. She took a step closer to Emirme.

The skeleton shook his head. "Why is it that that is the one rule you ignore?" He asked as he looked at her.

Annie looked down, ashamed almost. "I don't know."
