Zelda rolled her eyes. "Not now Midna!" she snapped, drumming her fingers against her crossed arm impatiently.

"Alright, alright!" she sniffed. "Anyways, that creep beat the daylights out of both Cynder and Spyro; I barely arrived in time to witness that suit of armor blow Cynder away, literally! Her attack didn't even phase him; he just simply dusted off the ash. Anyways, after Cynder's defeat, Spyro tried to take him down. Unfortunately, he was turned into a trophy as well. The Black Suit-Guy then kidnapped Cynder's trophy, saying something about making her his 'evil general'. Knowing that I was no match for that outsider, I waited in the shadows until I could safely revive Spyro," she finished, glancing at Fox, Falco, and Lucario in acknowledgement.

"So let me get this straight; this creature is stronger than all of us?" Zelda quiried in dismay.

Midna nodded. "Even if I had assisted in their skirmish, the results would have been the same, and there'd be two trophies lying out in the field."

Link dodged the attack -barely. He shot several arrows towards Mario in midair, using his spin-attack to land safely onto a ledge, and leaped from his perch, swordtip facing down -a down smash.

Boredom settled over the dinosaur once more. A mischievious look crossed his face; Yoshi quickly glanced around, and, when no one was looking in his direction, hurled an egg at Peach, and ducked behind Kirby. When he heard the princess's shrieks, he quickly hunkered down, pressing his belly flat against the ground, and attempted to sneak away. Several people yelled as he bumped into their legs and feet.

OOC: Alright, I've got to move on with the story so...Link wins the fight, use the Final Smash to end it if you don't mind.

Spyro looked up at Midna, understanding what she was doing. "Thanks Midna..."

"Then we get Peach to go with us, simple as that." said Samus. "She's tough in her own right."

OOC: Just for the record, you may 'rent' any character from the second game that's not claimed for a period of time if you want to.

Occ:Ok,Mario loses and Link wins. Got it.

Falco nodded cracking his knuckles "This guy is toast,"Falco grinned.

Fox nodded also "I'm in,and-"he took out his blaster "I need more practice,"He grinned

Lucario nodded in agreement with the two "Very well,"He said breifly.

Kirby giggled,but saw Peach stomping tword them,he squealed in terror. He ran the way Yoshi and crawled.

Mario got hit with the arrows and flopped down on the ground. "I'm losing,he barley took a hit,"Mario grumbled,daring to get up from the ground.

OOC: sorry about the late responce... T_T I'll temporarily "rent" Peach; her "Peach Bomber" will be the fire version in Melee, not the heart one in Brawl

A glowing orb that pulsated with each color change caught the corner of Link's eye; he quickly leaped into the air, unleashing a spin attack against it's brittle shell while his opponent was still pinned down. Cracks formed rapidly all along its exterior before shattering, bathing Link in it's mysterious liquid. "Sorry Mario, but this ends now," he murmured grimly. He suddenly rushed the plummer, who instantly became trapped between two rotating golden triangles.
Several furious and rapid slashes battered Mario's. The Master Sword suddenly stopped its barage; Link held it back, building up energy, before delivering the final blow; his competetor's body went sailing through the air before bouncing down the terrain, leaving a crater mark underneath from impact. Link squinted; when the dust cleared, a trophy lay in the heart. He slowly walked over, sword trailing in the dust, touched the trophy, and shook hands with the newly revived Mario. The spectators cheered. Link flinched slightly at the unexpected noise; back in Hyrule, he had gone -and still went on- as the unsung hero. Praise was still something new to him.

Heated lonlon milk passed through his parted lips, gently warming his mouth and pouring down his throat. I'm out of shape, he realized. It's been what feels like a lifetime ago since I've last crossed blades. He spotted Midna hovering above the many heads of the crowd, scanning each face as she went. He smiled slightly at her antics.

"Hey Midna! Over here!" he called, waving an arm as he sat up from his seated possition along the wall in a less-crowded sector.

Midna quickened her pace as she glided towards her friend. Upon reaching him, she slowly landed by his boot, eyelevel when she touched the ground. "There you are! Nice brawl by the way, though you got lucky. Next time, more sword and less projectiles; it makes for a better show, and requires more skill."

Link chuckled. "But then I wouldn't be the "humble hero"; I'd be just another showman of a hero, the kind that we despise."

She shrugged. "Fair enough, though you could still use the practice. Wanna face off against Ganon again?" she added with a wink.

"I'll pass. Anyways, why are you down here again? If you say it was just to 'congradulate me', you rarely offer anyone praise and could have done that later; you've already said that it wasn't that spectacular."

"I've taught you well, Wolfie. But you're right; the Brawlers have called a meeting. Want me to finish that milk for you?"

Link's eyebrows raised a few inches before he glared as he heard her comment. "I can finish it myself, thank you. But why would the Brawlers suddenly call a meeting -and in the middle of the annual festival, no less? They usually plan those things months in advanced, and I only recall being invited to two, maybe three, total."

Midna rested her index finger on her chin, gazing skyward in thought. "Hmm... it's hard to explain; I'll brief you on the major details along the way. Mario's already been fetched and the rest of us are waiting on you."

"Me?!?"

Yoshi rubbed a goose-egg on his forehead, groaning slightly. She didn't have to use her frying pan!, he thought, glaring at the blonde as she flirted lightly with the plummer by the railing over looking the stadium across the widened hall. The rest of the brawlers were either debating the current crisis or attempting to comfort Spyro when the two Hyrulians appeared.

"Alright; we're here!" Midna announced as soon as they were in earshot, dragging a reluctant Link by his tunic sleeve.

Zelda turned away from her conversation with Samus briefly when she heard the impertinant imp. "Hmm? Oh, hi Link. Took you long enough, Midna."

"What can I say? When a fellow doesn't want to be disturbed, he can be hard to find!"

Zelda giggled slightly. "Lonlon milk?"

"What else?" Midna sighed theatrically.

Link's head lowered slightly. "Okay... is this going to turn into 'let's pick on Link day', or are we going to act mature?"

"Naw, that would be giving you too much credit!" Midna winked.

"Oh! I like milk too! And sugar cookies," Peach exclaimed. "But they half to be fresh, baked with all-natural mushroom oil and milk from my favorite cow...

Midna groaned. "Is she going to do that all day?" she hissed in Link's ear.

"Unfortunately, most likely. Knowing her, she could go on for hours. Must be nice to have a personal cow though..."

"Not you too!"

Zelda glanced at her two friends and cleared her throat. "Ahem. That's wonderful, Peach, but everyone is present now. Samus, would you like to start?"

The clouds parted, allowing an eery white light shine through. Out of the light slowly drifted a black orb, dangerously sharp and alarmingly thin. Several colors sluggishly pulsated around its nucleus in thin, electrified waves that encircled it, its crystaline spines glinting dully in the strange light, Or rather aborbing it, Midna thought grimly.

Zelda's eyes widened, the Supspace Emmisary episode, nearly two years ago, flashing a brief image behind her eyes. "It's a bomb!" she shrieked. "Quick! Fox, Falco, take as many people as you can fit into your A-wings. Kirby, take Yoshi with you on either your Dragoon or Warp Star; I don't care which one just so long as you do it! I can hold onto two smaller individuals and warp us away from here using my Fayore's Wind, but that's all!"

Link nodded. "Once that thing touches the earth, it will absorb much of the land into a 'blackhole'; the rest of the map will be blown apart and scattered. Fox, Falco, can either of you carry me? I think that either Samus, Peach, or Midna should travel with Zelda."

Midna sighed. "This guy is really uncreative. Doesn't he know that the last guy did pretty much the same thing...?"

Peach gasped. "I-I'm not going anywhere without my Mario!" Her already rediculously enormous blue eyes widened larger with fright as her alabaster skin paled, the roses fading from her smooth cheeks.

Midna snorted. "Fine by me, blondie!"

Yoshi exchanged a wary glance with Kirby. "Yavvshi? [Him?] Awvahsheh yavi hhm! [At least let him copy somebody's powers first!]"

The Emperor merely laughed at this from his own base. "Did they really think I'd try the same thing?" he asked. "Then again, how would they know it's merely the storm generator? Alright Cynder, do your thing."

"I'm afraid you're mistaken!" said a deep, corrupted female voice.

Spyro looked shocked and disturbed. "No...that voice...it...it can't be..."

Dark Cynder descended from the sky and landed in the arena. "I'm afraid that device is the least of your worries," she mocked. "You have no idea what that device is, but it's doing its job, right now, who you need to worry about is my new master, the Dark Emperor."

Samus clinched her fist. "He did it...he turned her back into a monster...he's going to pay for this!" she yelled, furious.

"Cynder...no...please no..." muttered a clearly heartbroken Spyro, horrified to see his love turned into this...this monster again.
