and to that regard, I read that developers are finding PS3 much easier to work with. Its easier to interface and to code. That is music to my ears.

I think the PS3 is able to read DVD's...meaning there's a chance for it to be backwards compatible.

i heard that comptibility is not gonna be that high. jsut cuz it reads dvds doesnt mean compatibility. It will be kinda like the 360 I think, where some games would work ,but it needs to be emulated. THe reason the ps2 was able to play ps1 games was becuase it had the ps1 chip in it. Ps2 will not be as easy.....

I hope that compatibility will be ok.

I think there were official comments saying that they currently managed to emulate perfectly 95% of the PS1 and PS2 games, or something like this. One sure thing, it will have much better compatibility than Xbox360 (especially when Microsoft does not give patches for several games only for commercial reasons, for people buy the sequels to these games instead, for example Project gotham racing 2 or Dead or alive 3 in japan...)

If what i read is correct.

PS3 as most of you know will be using Blu-ray disk readers..if anyone knows how much they run at now...i think its like 1500. Thats theirs first drawback, not to mention the blu-ray disk costs about 90 bucks. It only holds like 10 or so more gigs than a HD-DVD. Sony is prone to massive problems at launch too, i expect it from them. Then I was looking at graphics, I compared the two from videos...from what I am seeing, xbox 360 can pull off those graphics. Im also worried about the controller design of the Ps3 and the fact that the technology they are using is new. I just have plenty of worries with PS3..since well, PSP has huge problems, along with PS2 and PS1. And the earlier comment on the recall of the xbox 360 for fire hazard...every system will cause a fire if not ventilated correctly.

As u can tell, right now my vote is on xbxo 360, but I will wait for PS3 to come out.

If the PS3 has a DVD player, than it must I guess Steet is right, as most PS2 games are burnt on DVD-ROMs.

The ps3 the main reassons are the blue laser and the posseser and space so i don't xbox 360 has a chance.

I myself am not sure how they are going to pull that off, because it(as i said in an earlier post) Is suppose to be using Blu-ray technology.

Well, I, for one, am just waiting to be surprised.

Well I know that lots of the top selling game companys are for ps3.

Some of the games comming out for ps3 are Resident Evil 5, Silent Hill 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, the new version of Final Fantasy 7 is coming out for ps3 and Devil May Cry 4, I saw the previews to the games that I just said and they look wicked and the graphics out match the 360 by far.

Proof? Every game so far has pretty much bene cut scenes..and Silent Hill 5 and RE 5 are on xbox 360. Me and my friend had this argument (h is a hardcore sony fan) He even claimed PS3 will have barly any graphical improvements from what 360 looks now. The final fantasy 7 thing from last i heard was just there to show off the PS3 graphics. My Proof of that I myself see no reason to remake an RPG almost everyone beat.

Also there is going to be a Grand Turismo 5 and New Grand Theft Auto. Yah I know that the only things we have seen from GT5 is GT4 but with more cars.

Dont forget, Forza Motorsport for Xbox 360, and GTA...I'm getting sick of it now. Might just be me though.

As it stands No Ps3 game even catches my littlest bit of attention.
