Kai chattered happily to Frida, ignorant to Twilight and Tosca's conversation.

Tosca shrugged, smirking. "Had to ask. But if she isn't your pup, then who is she? Maybe she's your sister?"

Twilight shook his head. "No." he said. "I have two sisters, neither of which look like me." His mind raced through the possibilities. She couldn't possibly be related to him. The odds of that were astounding, to say the least. Unless... "The black wolf drew in a shuddering breath and turned away from the cave. "I need some time to think. I'll be back later."

Twilight stalked off towards the forest, passing Farren by as the red wolf approached the den. He gave Tosca a questioning look. "What's his problem?" he asked.

Tosca watched the wolf curiously but sighed. "We just found some female wandering around, maybe you know who she is?"

The tawny wolf led Farren over to Dusk. "Do you recognize her at all?"

Farren had to do a double-take. "Uh... Well if I didn't know better, I'd say that was Twilight. Good thing I know better." he said. He looked over his shoulder to where the black wolf had disappeared. "Is that what's got him so peeved?"

"I guess." Frida said as she entered. "It does seem a bit odd, how much she looks like him." The tan she wolf smiled at Farren and Tosca. "I'm sorry I made a mess of thing and spilled the beans on you two. You're secret is safe with me from now on." she said.

"It's okay" Tosca replied. "But yeah, that's why he's pretty ticked. I don't really know why..."
Tosca padded over to the dark figure whose coat practically blended into the dark.
"How are you feeling Dusk" she greeted politely.

The black she-wolf looked up at Tosca. Her light-golden eyes seemed very tired. "I feel much better now, thank you." she said. The others were greatly surprised. She even sounded like Twilight! Her voice was the same quiet hiss as his was, yet at the same time it carried a warm, pleasant tone that made everyone in the room smile.

Tosca smiled gently. "If it's not to much to ask, where did you come from?" Tosca asked curiously. "We didn't see you until you were already in the territory"

Dusk frowned a moment. "I... left home about a month ago." she said quietly. "I've just been heading west for weeks, and then came to the river out there." she continued, nodding out the area outside the cave. "I followed it down here, but I must've fell in somewhere." The black wolf shivered. "Thank you for taking care of me like this. It's awfully nice of you."

"You're welcome" Tosca smiled warmly, turning away to let Dusk get some sleep. Still, curiosity was eating away at her. Kai on the other hand, didn't care. She and Yuma had a new playmate!
Tosca sat down next to Yuma. "Do you know where Twilight went? I bet he knows something about this... why else would he be so mad?"

Yuma thought hard, but nothing came to him. "Sorry. I got nothing." he said. "You could ask Rowtag, but I think he followed Twilight to wherever it is he went." It was true. A brief look around would reveal that Rowtag was nowhere to be found.

Farren walked up beside Tosca and gave her a brief nuzzle under the chin. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find him soon." he said. "Maybe he's at the Southern forest? He likes to go there a lot. A little too much, if you ask me." He looked out at the rapidly darkening sky. "I need to go. I'll see you tomorrow, if I can get away." He bid them all goodnight and ran towards his pack's territory. Frida had decided to stay the night to watch Dusk and Kai, and she would leave in the morning.

Tosca nuzzled him back and watched him go. With a quick glance over her shoulder at the others in the den, she plodded off through the powdery snow toward the Southern forest. Twilight had to know something...
The sky got darker but Tosca wasn't worried. No major threats had ever entered the territory anyway.

Twilight was sitting by his self proclaimed 'Reflecting Pool' in the forest. His yellow eyes mirrored in the still waters almost perfectly. He heard Tosca coming long before she arrived. Rowtag stirred from his sitting position a few feet away to greet his sister with a nod. "Come to pump me for information?" Twilight asked ruefully.

Tosca hesitated for a moment, nodded to her brother as she got closer.
"Uh.... yeah..." Tosca replied, voice trailing off. "I mean, it can't be a coincidence"

The black wolf let out a heavy sigh, then turned to the young pack leader with an unexpected amount of pain showing on his face. Many emotions had stirred within the wolf before, but they had always been suppressed behind a wall of logic and reason. They had now both betrayed him in his hour of need, and the worst feelings of innermost turmoil were rising to the surface. "I agree." Twilight said. "This is hardly a coincidence." He began to pace back and forth slowly. "It seems my past is finally coming back to haunt me. I never expected this, though..." he laughed scornfully.

Tosca remained quiet for a second, a bit caught off guard by Twilight's reaction.
"Is it uh... something you want to talk about...?" Tosca offered awkwardly, not really sure how to respond to the black wolf. "So she is related to you?"
