As Rose led the group into their first class of the day, she gave the teacher an apologetic nod of her head before taking her seat in the second row. She couldn't help but notice Griffin was sitting just behind her and a seat closer to the window, and she was ashamed to even admit to herself that she noticed his attention was not on the classroom. Rose couldn't decide why yet, but she was very attentive to this boy. After catching herself glancing over her shoulder three times, she finally tried concentrating on what Mr. Johnson was writing on the board. She supposed that she should probably copy down the notes and pulled out her notebook and pencil.
Out of the corner of her eye, Rose saw Devin and Darius passing a sheet of paper between the two of them. She sighed in slight annoyance. Passing notes in class was not the best way to be starting out at a new school. Rose tried to ignore the two of them and turned back to the front just in time to hear Mr. Johnson scold Griffin for not paying attention to the board. Rose flinched a bit, knowing that some sort of punishment was on the way for Griffin. Mr. John was one of the strictest teachers at school, and he would be the one to give a dentention on someone's first day back.
That was why Rose was so shocked by Mr. Johnson's happy reply when Griffin somehow conviced the teacher he had been looking at the board. She turned around fully in her seat to stare at Griffin with a puzzled expression, but turned back in her seat before Mr. Johnson noticed. Rose made note to ask Griffin about it after class.

Griffin saw Rose enter the class before the whole mishap and smiled innocently. After the incident of the teacher noticing he wasn't paying attention, and after he had compelled him to believe he was telling the truth, he was now facing Rose's eyes once more. He could tell just from the expression in her eyes that she was puzzled and a bit confused. He could almost feel what would come next. He knew almost instantly in his head that she would ask about it after class. He cursed under his breath. It couldn't even be heard to anyone but himself. It was that low.
He would eventually probably have to explain, but tonight he had big plans. He was going to have a feast. After all, it was about time he fed. He hadn't killed anyone or drinken blood in more than a week. The lack was starting to get to his head.
The bell rang, though, just then, and the second it did, Griffin grabbed his bag and headed towards the hall. He wasn't sure where his next class was, or even what is was, so he braced himself to come face to face once more with Rose. She would be askin questions, and with Griffin's normal nature, he wasn't used to being nice to people in the first place. Not really, anyway. He would usually pretend so he could get them alone, compel them, and feed on them. But this girl, he wanted to stay real with. He didn't want to have to compel her. That came at a cost though. If she found out his secret, he was done for.
With the sense it wasn't just him in this town, there were bound to be monster hunters everywhere. If she found out his secret and decided to tell, he'd surely be staked from behind and murdered for all his past (and future) crimes.

As soon as the bell rung, Rose turned around to ask Griffin about what happened immediately. But she found his desk already empty and his body already out in the hall. Not lingering too long on the though of how fast that boy could move when he wanted to, Rose gathered her books up in her arms, slung her bag across her should, and headed for the door. She spotted Darius and Devin, and she made sure that they saw she was leaving.
Rose thought about how she was going to bring the subject up with Griffin as she walked toward the door. She wouldn't have a whole lot of time to talk to him before they were at their next class. She also wasn't sure exactly what she was asking him about anymore. How did she even know that Griffin did anything? Maybe Mr. Johnson just happened to be in a good mood that day. And even if she asked Griffin if he did something, wouldn't she just sound crazy? After all, she was basically asking him if he had some super power that allowed him to control people or change their thoughts or something else like that. When it came down to it, though, Rose would probably just sound either dillusional or idiotic.
By the time she was waiting right outside the door for Darius and Devin, Rose had made up her mind not to bring the issue up. At least not yet. She stopped beside Griffin and, trying to make some sort of small talk, asked him, "So how was your first class of the day?"

Griffin saw Rose coming towards him from across the hall and dreading for the worst words to come out. Something like 'I know what you did, I'll tell everyone!' But instead, you could clearly see his face of shock. He wasn't sure how to react. After a few seconds, he quickly regained his recomposure. "I-I.. uh... Yeah! My first class was awesome!" He leaned against the locker casually. "What did you think of the class? I know it wasn't your first time in it, but still..." he trailed off. He just realized he might have provoked the dreaded question.

Devin glanced at the note again when Darius passed it back to her and had to cover her mouth to keep from laughing out loud. She always loved his doodles, especially when she was in a bad mood. She handed the paper back to him, in case he wanted to do more, then looked straight back at the teacher, trying to pay attention for the remainder of the lecture. It was hard though - in their last school, she'd gotten past this point in her class, so it was a little tedious having to hear it all again.
When the other new kid, Griffin, got in trouble from the teacher, she cringed internally and waited for the dreaded word; "detention". But when it didn't come, she was a little surprised. With a frown and her brow wrinkled, she glanced over at the boy quickly. How had he done that?
For the rest of the lecture, her mind was occupied with that, along with thoughts about the rest of the day, and that night's activities, which would probably include handing out candy to the bratty neighborhood kids. Boring. She was contemplating the idea of a Halloween party when the bell rang and saved them from the teacher's droning. Grabbing her bag, she met the others outside the classroom, grinning, already forgetting about Griffin's little trick in class.
"Yeah, what did you think, Rose? I thought it was kind of boring, honestly," she chimed in.

Darius did, in fact, add more detail and quite a few other sketches to the now crumpled paper. Deciding none were worth building on, he dropped it into the trash can on his way out. He slung his bag over his shoulder, and began to walk out into the hallway. His mind was occuppied; it was mainly about candy. Back at his old neighborhood, he would often volunteer to accompany a younger child, and grab some candy himself. After all, he rationalized, you're never to old for candy.
But it would be different this year. He was new, and wasn't willing to risk the embarassment of going alone, with or without a costume. His thoughts were interrupted as he ran into Devin's back - hard. "Dang it!" he muttered, stepping back, an apologetic look already forming on his face.

Rose bit the inside of her lip to keep a smile at bay as Griffin struggled to string together a sentece. After her first impression of him, she had assumed that nothing caught him off guard or caused him to stumble over his words. She opened her mouth to answer his question when Devin popped up beside her, repeating Griffin's question. When Rose made to answer, she was again interrupted by Darius running into his sister. Rose looked at him for a long moment to convey her annoyance, but her smirk showed that she was only kidding. As Rose stared at him, she realized that this new kid wasn't hard on the eyes at all. She supposed that she had been so distracted by Griffin that she hadn't had time to take in Darius or Devin. But, of course, her attention was too easily pulled back to Griffin when she realized that she had not yet answered the question.
"I guess it was alright," Rose said, no enthusiasm in her voice to support her statement at all. "I've never been a big fan of history, and I had Mr. Johnson as my history teacher last year too. He hasn't improved much." She gave a shrug to portray her indifference. "Anyways, Trig is just down the hall with Mrs. Dines. It will only take us, like, a second to get there, so we can talk for a bit."
Rose looked from each face to the others, trying to think of something to talk about that they all might have in common. "So, it's Halloween tonight. Is anyone doing anything?" she asked unsurely. Rose always had her annual Halloween bonfire at her Uncle's farmhouse, but she didn't want to invite the three there just yet. She wasn't even sure if they were even in to Halloween anymore, or at least not as much as Rose still was.

Darius shook his head, the movement underlied with a subtle touch of regret. "No...wish I was though. You're never to old for candy, you know?" He managed a crooked smile at that, hoping to convey that he was only joking around. He often did this with his friends, or when he was trying to make new ones. Rose could be a wonderful friend, as far as he could tell. Besides, she was rather cute.
He cocked his head, the grin still lingering on his face as he looked at her, waiting for her - or someone - to reply. He noticed a look on her face; was she already doing something? If she was, he longed to be invited. It might even be some form of party; a perfect oppurtunity to socialize and ecspecially get to know Rose more.

Devin grinned at Darius' reply and nodded. "Yeah." It was a pretty unenthusiastic response, but then again, she'd never been much for the whole candy scene at Halloween, even as a kid. Back then she'd always ended up giving her candy to her brother to munch on happily and she'd typically move off to try and scare the other neighborhood kids, or just run aroudn pretending to be whatever she'd dressed up as that particular year. Ahh, good times.
When she came out of her reverie, she replied, "No, I don't think we're doing anything. Which reminds me, do you know of any good parties going on? I wouldn't mind trying to get to know some of our classmates out of the learning environment."
She adjusted her bag on her shoulder because it was starting to hurt. Devin had managed to cram it too full again, as always.
(OOC: Actually, is anyone opposed to a time skip after they get to their next class?)

OOC: No, not at all. I actually wanna skip to the night time X3
Griffin puffed out a breath of relief as he realized Devin and Darius' arrival on the conversation may have turned the tide in his favor. He didn't have to answer the question he so hoped that Rose wouldn't ask. Or... at least... not right now... He gulped silently.
Walking with the other students, he began to notice that Darius had a certain look in his eyes. He seemed to think Rose was cute. Normally, a human wouldn't be able to notice an emotion on sight, but since Griffin wasn't human and had been around for more than 150 years, he had seen that look many times before. The first time he ever fully recognized it, his life had been completely messed up. His "best friend" had gotten that same look in his eyes when he turned his girlfriend evil and transformed him into the creature he was today.
Griffin's past being brought up was a very, very bad thing. Any speck of his past that lingered in his brain made Griffin unstable. It didn't matter where he was or who made him remember the stupid flashbacks. The slightest move, and Griffin would literally pin Darius to the wall and snap his neck. You could see this in Griffin's eyes as he glared at Darius. The look he gave basically said it all: 'Back off of Rose'.
All this was going on as Griffin turned his gaze back to Rose and answered hesitantly, the anger disappearing from his face, "I.. uh... I have-erm... things to attend to. Stuff to do. I guess, though, if I finish early, I can meet you guys somewhere if you'd like?" From his tone you could clearly tell he was trying to cover up a secret. It was almost impossible to resist asking him what he was hiding, but he was hoping that they would keep their questions to themselves.

Ooc:// Sorry I haven't posts in a while. I won't bore you with the long explanation, but I will try to keep up this this rp. I may only be posting once a day, but it's better than nothing, right?
Anyways, I thinking skipping the rest of the day is a great idea!
Bic:// Rose smiled sweetly at Darius, knowing exactly what he meant. "Well, since you mention it, I do actually know of a party," Rose said to Devin. Her voice quieted as she admittted, "Halloween is actually my favorite holiday. My Uncle Jerry has allowed me to have a big party at his house since I was, like, nine years old. Practically the whole school comes, and half the neighborhood, so if you guys want to come, you all are definately invited."
When Griffin confessed that he had other plans, Rose's heart dropped and her bright smile turned down into a slight frown. She was tempted to ask what his mysterious plans were, but she didn't want to be intrusive, especailly since she just met Griffin.
"Um, well, the party will be going on all night probably, so I don't really think anyone would notice if you came in late." Rose realized that she might sound a little desperate, but she really wanted Griffin to be there. "Here, I'll write the address down for all of you." Rose ripped a peice of paper out of her notebook and tore it into three peices, which she wrote down her Uncle's adress on all of them. She handed everyone a seperate torn paper. "It officailly starts at seven o'clock, but no one really gets there until eight, sometime nine. So, you can come at whatever time, it really doesn't matter." Rose shrugged, trying not to show how excited she was to have the three of them come to her party.

Griffin was a bit surprised to find out the time of the party would probably end up right smack at the end of his hunt. He grinned at this fact and said happily, "Looks like I'll be able to make it on time after all!" He chuckled.
He took the piece of paper and studied the address. It would be close to the spot he had picked earlier in the week. I'll have to be careful who I kill... he mentally noted. He then turned back to Rose and the others.
"What I have going on ends at about 6:30 or 7:00 so it looks like I may be able to get there right on time." He gave another smile. "You guys coming?" He said with an expectant look at the others.
It was unlike him to be this... social or even nice to humans, but for some reason he was being that same way to them. Never before had he experienced happiness. At least, not real happiness anyways.

Hey, guys, is that roleplay still going on? I really don't want it to die, but I think it's too late for that. But maybe we can bring it back...
