Yeah, just a VERY ANNOYING version of her. More annoying than Aleu?! That's almost impossible!

They do look similar even though the eyes are different colors. Aleus are yellowish amber while Dusty's is blue.

BaltoTrain1996 wrote: To be honest, I really don't see any resemblance between Dusty and Aleu. They're completely the opposite of each other in my opinion. Aleu was sort of like a teenager going through one of those "teenage drama" moments and she also acted like a spoiled brat a lot. As for Dusty, all I can really say is that she was more mature and wasn't as annoying. I'll seventh or eighth or whatever that number is. But think about it: They are only alike in a couple of simple notable ways: - similar [but NOT alike] facial marks - lived in Nome at one point [we don't know Dusty's background, so note I did not say "born in Nome"] - have husky blood in them [some more than others... obviously] - blue eyes [although Aleu's are more bright and surrounded in gold like a wolf's; Dusty's are duller and tame-ish looking, again showing the husky look] - THEY HOWL [Dusty howls like... twice/thrice in the entirety of the film... rewatch it, I dare you, and see for yourself. She's the only other frequent howler in that movie other than Balto, Jenna and Kodi [and the sled team that one time when they were convincing Balto to lead the team with "THE CALL"]. Trufax.] ...and that's it. Seriously, THAT IS IT. There's nothing else similar about Dusty and Aleu, so stop saying so... or at least I can't think of anything else. I agree that the slight similarity is nothing more than a coincidence [and that the character designers could have spent some time and looked at how different the dogs looked in the first Balto movie for some artistic inspiration...], but they could have made her more different looking in design, regardless of budget. Again, personalities are totally different, if only because of age difference at the time of each film. Dusty's probably... eh, matured age of a few years old in WoC, while Aleu is merely over a year old in WQ... which she would be about three or four by 1928, the time setting of WoC. They sound different, they focus on different things... heck, their BREEDING is way way different [despite sharing husky blood, as I mentioned above]. And finally, Aleu could never make it as a sled dog, even with her 3/4 husky blood from Balto and Jenna. She was always meant to be wild, and the events in Aleu's past only back that up... oh, and the fact that she's with a wolf pack and probably can't come back. Then again, she could try.... but eh, she didn't even seem to know that her dad was a famous sled dog until he mentioned it to Nava and the wolves [and I quote the half-breed himself from WQ: "...I mean, I've led a dog team before... never a wolf pack."]... but nah. Dusty, on the other paw, seems to be all-husky, so she must have been born, bred and raised to be a sled dog and nothing else - remember that one line that Dusty says in WoC, reguarding the possible loss of the sled team's job: "I don't know how to do anything else!" So there ya go, guys and gals. Case closed. Let's leave it be and just move on to something else, yes? ...Oh, and just to make a quick shipping note to the shippers out there: Even though Dusty/Ralph has been confirmed as official by the director or whoever it was [in an interview, mind you; not everyone knows or cares] though it was only seen on film for a few seconds, the lack of a fourth film only makes Dusty/Kodi fair game now and forever... and any other crazy pairing that you can use Dusty or Kodi for. Can you guys just deal with that too? Remember, I'm on everyone's side, as I ship EVERYTHING. Seriously, I do. Look at THIS and THIS for proof. Thanks for reading! - Juuchan17

A very sensible argument, Juuchan! I agree completely! Thanks, JC~! I'm just... really sick of the whole "he says that X and Y are official, so it IS official" argument, and I know that it's not really on topic with this, but... yeah. There's your conclusion. Yes, this may be true for Balto and Jenna, as it is canon [thanks in part to the two sequels - thank you, Universal, for the obvious], but not for Dusty and Ralph, regardless of a single interview. Heck, anyone could say something ridiculous about two characters getting together - like... oh, I don't know, Stella and Boris - yeah, the WoC plot between them made it seem like they were eventually a couple, but I only see them as friends, not a couple just because he's a guy and she's an overly-flirtatious goose with a rack that's enough to make Lola Bunny from "Space Jam" jealous... er, but I digress... Back on topic, the whole "Dusty and Aleu are alike" thing... it's nothing more than stupid and childish. Here's the answer to it, so I think it's done. - Juuchan17

I see this as a good point seeing as when I was about four years old I saw a preveiw for the other two Balto movies since I had only seen the third and thought Kodi and Dusty were brother and sister.

I can honestly see the resemblance, but I think it's pretty much obvious from the start that Dusty and Aleu are nothing alike. From the voice to the personality, any comparison stops dead on the surface.

She doesn't have the same build, movement and even colours. Only face markings(even leg markings are different...)

They were similar yes but I just watched Balto III not to long ago and realized Dusty is very different. She shorter, more plump and like many have already stated she has different leg markings so technically she didn't have any similarities at all except maybe the eyes...

So as to make a point to others Universal did not just use Aleu with a different name to save money.
