Zero followed him, smiling. "Never tried it. Scraps and whatever I could get on the street was the order of the day." He got a thoughtful look on his face. "So... When did 'Z' start?"

"Just a little nickname I gave ya; like Sash for Sasha." Says Charlie proud of himself believing that he came up with an original nickname.

... Don't you think you could have been more... Y'know, creative? Zero wondered. "So... How long have you been here? I just got here as you know and as you just said, I wanna 'know the ropes' to get around smoothly."

"Been here fooooorrrr, about a year I think" said Charlie hesitantly. "Trust me its not all that hard to get used to Frisco" as he was rubbing the back of his paw accross his chest." Charlie exclaimed proudly.

Ahh. I know these streets like the back of my own paws. Hmm, thats new! Charlie thought to himself.

Zero looked around at the other patrons in the Cafe. Some would look his way oddly, some would stare, and some would just ignore him. All in all, the usual cafe attitude to the new guy. He looked back at Charlie. "I heard Sasha mention someone called Itchy in the other room while I was taking a look in my room. Who's he?"

"Ahh, Itchy he is a very good friend of mine, he's been feeling a bit under the weather so he's been upstairs this whole time." As he looks up into his room. "That weiner dog shows no compassion! can't believe you haven't met him yet." He says in a somewhat angry voice with Itchy because he wants Zero to meet Itchy.

"... I hope you know that I could just, y'know, go up there if I want to to meet him?" Zero asked, raising an eyebrow and letting an ear flop forward.

"Don't you worry, I'll bring him down here. He just need some fresh air, he's been our apartment for like a week." exclaims Charlie still a little irritated with Itchy for not meeting our new neighbor. "I'll be right back"

Charlie makes his way back to his apartment to get Itchy. He opens the door and yells in, "Hey, our new buddy is here, he would love to meet you. So get your lazy rump out of bed and get down stairs." He yells at Itchy, implying that if he doesn't go downstairs there will be a price to pay.

"Achoo! Okay guess a little, Achoo, fresh air wouldn't hurt, Achoo. Tell Zero, achoo, that I'll be right down." Mumbles Itchy still battling with a nagging cold that he has had for a week.

"Righty-O, I'll tell him." Charlie makes his way out the door and rushes down the stairs to tell Zero that Itchy will be right down.

Charlie has just made his way down stairs and back to the cafe trying to catch his breath. "Just talked with Itchy, he said he'll be right down" taking a deep breath between every other word.

"Expecting me to move if you came to slow or something?" Zero said, grinning. "You could have walked and I would have still been sitting right here, still waiting for our food."

"I have no idea what is taking them so long, I'll go into the kitchen and make 'em hurry up." Says Charlie hungrier than ever and getting more and more angry with every passing second. Charlie jumps over the counter and makes his way into the kitchen. "Come on guys. Chop chop hurry it up okay!" he demands and just as soon as he was in the kitchen he made his way out. "I'm back, I gave 'em a what for, we should be getting our food any moment.

Itchy thinking to himself, I want to look good for our guest, what should I wear, what sould I wear?[i]as he stood staring blankly into the closet scratching his chin. [i]Perfect! find the right outfit Itchy makes his way downstairs and out the door squinting his eyes at the afternoon sun.

"You must be Zero, pleasure to meet you." Itchy welcomes the newcomer home. "So what brought you to San Francisco?" he questioned.

Charlie giggling under his breath Wonder if he knows that plaid went out like in the 50s.

Zero, after Charlie left, heard a crash from the kitchen as if something had been thrown at Charlie but hit a wall inside the room, but he didn't mention it. "Not much, went from stray to house-pet and back down again and needed a place to stay. I heard on the street that Charlie here was opening up a few rooms and decided to check it out. Next moment, here I am living in a room." He replied to Itchy.

"Just to let you know, don't give Charlie any bones, he usually just gambles them away." Itchy whispers to Zero hoping Charlie would not hear there conversation.

Charlie still wondering where is our food, "What did ya say Itch? Heard my name." Wondered Charlie if they were talking about him.

"Guess you missheard, I didn't say anything" said Itchy trying to keep a straight face.

Zero was trying just as hard to keep a straight face, but muttered lowly back, "A bit late, already gave him my rent for the room."

"Uh oh. He's probably spent it all ready, I'll talk with him later tonight about the bones situation." Itchy whispers back still hoping Charlie wouldn't overhear their conversation.

"Finally!" yells Charlie exuberantly as the food finally arives. "Whatta ya waiting for, dig in!" as Charlie puts his face into the bowl and begins to scarf down his food.

"I don't think I'd be to far off when I say 'he has really bad table manners' huh?" Zero said, eating a bit before looking back at Itchy. These two were fun guys to be around.
