Aurora dispatched the dragon quickly, leaving him lying lifeless with a broken neck. She stood in shock for a few moments, she had never killed anyone before. She felt bile rise in her throat, but when she saw Glaedr collapse she pushed it down and pulled another dragon to her. He joined the first, and Aurora launched herself at the rest in a sort of berserker fury.

Pheonix's eyes narrowed as he stared at the blue female with the golden coloured eyes. She seemed to have great fighting skills. 'She sorta reminds me of Emily.' He thought, a smile creeping onto his face. A few years ago Pheonix had met a dragoness named Emily, it was love at first sight. Pheonix was a rogue and Emily belonged in a clan that had made their home beside a river, so they were forbidden to be together. But the two had ignored that rule, and when the clan found out she was with a rogue, they killed her. Pheonix's smile faded and he held back his tears, he continued to watch Aurora fight. Finally, he decided it was time to help Aurora and Glaedr and leaped out of the shadows.

Aurora didn't even notice the stranger who had just appeared and carried on snapping at any dragons thast got within her reach. One managed to pull her down and kept his jaws clamped tightly around her throat. Aurora felt herself writhe as she struggled to break away, but she was held down by another. She couldn't breathe, she was choking but refused to give up. Darkness appeared at the edge of her vision and she felt dizzy and faint. I can't give up, I can't die. Glaedr... she thought as her mind slowly went blank.

Pheonix leaped at the dragon that had Aurora's neck in his jaws. He tackled the dragon then bit down on his skull, showing no mercy. 'Show no mercy. Show no mercy.' He thought repeatedly. He didn't exactly enjoy killing, but he knew he had to, he felt as though there was no other way.

Sound. Colour. Movement. It all rushed up to meet Aurora's senses in a frightening wave. Her eyes unclamped and her first sight was a stranger standing over the dragon who had attacked her. The dragon was dead. Aurora lay, stunned, for a few moments before she remembered Glaedr. She leapt to her feet and barraged her way to Glaedr's side. She stood to face the attacking group, eyeing Huntress warily. 'Call them off' she growled, her anger rising quickly.
Huntress didn't laugh, the freak had gotten involved now and that was bad news. 'No. I have waited too long for an oppurtunity like this. I am going to kill him and break every bone in your body. Freak' she snarled back, hoping her words would cut deeper than claws. If she could just get Aurora to move away then she could kill Glaedr.

Glaedr's vision was blurry at first, but it was soon normal again. He soon noticed Aurora was by his side, but he still couldn't stand. He also noticed the dark red dragon that had decided to help them. Glaedr could tell the dragon was a rogue, for he had filthy scales and battle scars, and smelt as though he'd been just about everywhere on the continent. The red dragon appeared to be around Glaedr's age, and had almost-perfect fighting skills. 'Maybe he was trained by someone when he was younger.' Thought Glaedr.
Pheonix seemed to have no trouble at all fighting away the attacking dragons, but even though he didn't show it, he was getting tired.

Aurora winced. Huntress' words did cut deeply. She had always been a bit sensitive in that area. She didn't feel so sure of herself suddenly. Her wounds from earlier began to sting badly and she felt exhausted. She saw Glaedr stir, but his reluctance to stand worried her. Beyond the circle of dragons formed around her and Glaedr she spotted the red dragon again, still fighting. Maybe he can help, but I can't let Huntress see him she thought, lowering her gaze back to Huntress. 'Fight me then, you coward' she growled, knowing it was a risky threat.
'Fight you!?... Yes I suppose that would dispose of you nicely' Huntress muttered. She snarled and the circle of dragons parted to let her approach Aurora. Now you will know what it feels like to hurt she thought, and leapt for Aurora's throat.

Glaedr lay there, wide-eyed, he couldn't believe what was happening. As soon as Huntress attempted to go for Aurora's throat, Glaedr forced himself to stand and tackle Huntress to the ground. His wounds burned with pain, but he didn't care as long as Aurora was ok.

Aurora had braced herself for the cold sharpness of Huntress' talons, but all she heard was a muffled 'oof!'. She peeled one eye open, not even realising she had shut them, and saw Glaedr pinning Huntress to the ground. She wasn't sure whether to be relieved or angry. She was trying to protect Glaedr so that he could run, why did he keep staying and protecting her? Because we are friends, that's obvious she thought sadly, guessing that Glaedr probably wouldn't leave her to save his own skin. She sighed and approached Huntress slowly. 'Please, just let us go' she said softly, her voice and body suddenly tired.
Huntress writhed under Glaedr's weight, spitting and snapping at his paws but unable to reach. She could tell he was tired, but so was she. The whole group was. They had been travelling for days without much rest or food. Aurora's voice reached her ears, and Huntress desperately wanted to say yes, but that would show weakness. An idea came into her head. 'Alright, as you have beaten me I will obey this command. But hear me...this will not be the last you hear from us' she growled, pushing Glaedr off of herself. She stood up and shook herself down, glaring around the clearing. So many dead. This was so unexpected. I hadn't thought we would be attacked first she thought sadly.

Glaedr backed up until he was right beside Aurora, he glared at Huntress. 'Thank god she is letting us go.' He thought, his facial expression softened and his muscles relaxed. He looked over to the dark red dragon with the crimson eyes. Even though the dragon had helped them, Glaedr didn't trust him. There was something about him that made Glaedr slightly uneasy.

'Fall back, we will regroup at camp' Huntress roared. Her group scattered, disappearing into the shadows and mist that lined every tree around the clearing. Huntress hung back for a few moments, her glare locked on the two...no three dragons that had defeated her group. Once we are well rested and fed, your clan won't stand a chance. There are more of us than you could possibly imagine she thought, before turning and disappearing as well.
As soon as Huntress vanished from sight Aurora felt her legs turn to jelly. She sank to the ground beside Glaedr, staring blankly at the ground. 'Thank you' she said in a voice that was barely a whisper, not even knowing who she was talking to. She allowed her eyes to shut and she lay her head gently on the ground, her breathing slowing gradually.

Pheonix watched as Huntress and the remaining members of the group disappeared from sight. He stared at the ground for a brief moment before turning his head to look at Glaedr and Aurora. His facial expression didn't soften and his muscles didn't relax, he was feeling uneasy for he was not used to being around other dragons. One part of him wanted to help them get back to their clan safely, but the other part wanted him to lunge forward and get rid of them for good. He finally decided to help them get back safely, and so approached the two.
Glaedr glared at the dragon and growled. "Don't you dare come any closer." He growled, not taking his emerald-green eyes off of the blood-red male.
Pheonix snarled at Glaedr. "How insulting...I helped you." He said in a low and somewhat angry tone. He kept on walking until he was right infront of Glaedr. "I could take you down with one paw tied behind my back..But I'm not going to, I don't attack unless I know for certain the dragon I am going to attack is a threat. And right now..You don't look like much of a threat." He added, looking at Glaedr's wounds.

(Sorry it took so long)
As soon as Huntress disappeared from view Aurora felt her legs turn to jelly. She sank heavily to the floor, feeling her whole frame shake with adrenaline and fear. She stared at a point just beyond the stretch of her claws, slowing her erratic breathing with huge concentration. She barely heard Glaedr growl, but she did and it made her pull her gaze away from the ground. Her eyes met those of the blood red stranger, and in her half dazed state she foud she didn't have the strength to pull them away. She stared at him as he drew closer, but felt he was threatening Glaedr even though she couldn't really make out what he was saying. 'Leave him alone, he hasn't done anything to you' she said softly, allowing her eyes to fianlly shut and her head to sink to the ground in exhaustion.

Glaedr was about to snap a comment back at the dragon, but decided that for now, he would stay calm. He sighed then looked at the stranger with the crimson red eyes. "What is your name? And why are you here?" He asked.
"My name is Pheonix, and I am here because I want to be." Pheonix growled in reply. He stared down at Aurora when he heard her speak. "I wasn't going to do anything harmful to your boyfriend." He said in a slightly lighter tone.

Aurora looked up at the stranger who called himself 'Phoenix'. She could already sense the building tension between him and Glaedr. 'I'm Aurora and this is Glaedr. We...aren't a couple' she said softly, hoping Glaedr wouldn't notice the last part. She nudged Glaedr with her nose and looked up at him in a way that said 'don't cause trouble, he helped us remember'.
