I'll take over again now. I'm back! XP
Now to post:
"Maya! Get up! Fen said, his normally calm voice urgent.
"Don't wanna," Maya muttered into her pillow, her voice slurred by sleep.
"Oh well. DO it anyways," Fen said teasingly.
"Urgn," Maya groaned as she sat up. "What time is it?" Her hazel eyes opened, and she blinked them rapidly, beginning to wake up. She ran a hand through her toausled, tawny hair and yawned.
"I don't know! But you're alarm went off 10 minutes ago!" Fen said. He hated being late.
"Crap," Maya said, sliding off of her bed. Fen leapt off lightly, paws making almost no sound on the floor. She qickly got ready, and was standing in front of Fen in record speed.
"Now let's go," Fen said, his voice still sounding urgent.
"Geesh, Fen. I'm goin'," she said. She hurried to the front door, grabbing her keys. SHe threw herself into the drivers side, and carefully pulled out of the parking lot.
"Can you drive any faster?"
"No! I just got me learner's permit, and I am not going to speed!" Maya said. The pair soon reached school, and she braked, parking. Fen seemed to relax, obviously releived.
She got out of the car, Fen padding close behind her, tail twitching. She spotted SHay, Zane, Victor-Zane, and Angel nearby, and hurried over to them. Fen gave an irritated sigh as she did, but followed. "WHo's that?" Maya asked, upong seeing another girl talking to Zane.
I don't know," Fen said.
"Let's go find out," Maya said, and increased her pace. "Hey guys," she greeated as she reached the group. "Who are you?" she asked, cocking her head as she turned to face Ciara.

As she woke up, the first thing she looked at was the clock.
"Crap," she muttered, her voice husky from exhaustion and her bronze hair tousled.
"Crap is right kid. Get the heck out of bed." The voice was slightly husky as well, but it was that way naturally. Even in her exhausted state, she could hear the lanky tone in his voice, the exotic throb like that of a cat.
She reached out a hand to swat the annoyance, and he dodged it on time. His silvery reddish pelt shone in the sun's rays that poured into the small room past the gauzy purple curtains, bathing the room in an odd glow.
The small squirrel grinned.
"My reflexes aren't bad eh?"
"'Twas beginners luck."
She grunted as she slowly rose from bed. Today was going to be one of those days. Kaylum quickly scampered onto her shoulders, warming it slightly. The room was slightly drafty, and she regretted getting up. This was what sucked about sleeping downstairs.
"Hmmmm, so what to wear." Kaylum murmured, mockingly reflecting. "Oh I know! How about that t-shirt, pair of jeans- that you set out the night before and the purple hoodie that you WEAR EVERY DAY".
"You psychic or something? Hey, don't knock it 'til you try it."
"I dont wear clothes."
"Right."
"I prefer to go nude. Let's be twins!"
This time her slap was right on target. Kaylum flew backwards, brandishing the brush he now clutched in his tiny paws. He struck his human's head, the brush combing through in a clean sweep, partially taming the bronze mess.
"Ready now?" he grinned.
"As I'll ever be."

Luckily, the school was nearby, enough to foot it and be there within five minutes. She arrived and spotted the others nearly instantly.
"Watch out for raccoon boy." Kaylum muttered. It was a self assigned nickname, mainly representing Zane's eyeliner.
She took out a book, and sat on a stone wall surrounding the school faking non-challence, hoping someone would approach her.

Ilac was running late. He had to get Louie ready, and with one broken paw and a snippy personality, the Daemon wasn't making things easy.
"Do you honestly think other, normal, labs would not laugh if I use that stupid wheelchair?" the labrador retriever snapped.
"I really don't know, but if you want to limp, that's fine with me," said Ilac. Now poking through his first-aid kit, he pulled out a small pill and tossed it down. "Here's a painkiller anyhow. I stocked up on doggie first-aid stuff last night at the store."
"I'm a Daemon, not a dog. Remember that, human," snapped Louie as he scarfed down the pill.
"Oh, yes, you said something about that when you first spoke, what, last Sunday?" Ilac said, making sure he had everything. "What else did you say? Nothing." Hurrying out the door, Ilac grabbed his scooter, with a leash tied around it to a small stretcher so that Louie could ride along.
Reluctantly, Louie got on the stretcher.
"Okay," said Ilac. "Let's go." They zipped off to the school, which was more or less a mile away. He quickly got there, setting down on one of the many piles of stone around the front of the school. Pulling out a cell phone, he quickly checked his e-mail, then whispered to Louie, "Remember. You're a normal dog at school."
"Yeah, right," muttered Louie.
"If you want to risk human authorities around here, that's fine with me," Ilac said. That ended the conversation quickly.

"Tessa and Kaylum's here," Fen announced. Maya turned, and waved, gesturing for them to come. "And Illac and Louie," Fen added. "Wonder what happened to his paw," he wondered aloud.

How bout I only know Maya? It makes the whole thing more interesting.
Tessa sighed with relief and sidled up to Maya. She mostly avoided Zane, because after Kaylum's commentary, she couldn't help but compare him to a raccoon, and risked cracking up. Not that she was scared of him or anything, but she preferred to avoid conflict. And if he knew what she was thinking, then conflict there would be.
" 'Lo there." she said. "I'm Tessa, the daemon's Kaylum. I don't believe we've met before." she said, gestering to Zane, Shay and Ciara.
She avoided looking Zane straight in the eye, not wanting to set him off. If he thought he was superior, let him do so, she certainely didn't agree. But she didn't want to disrupt any signs of peace, as fragile as they were.
"And you are?"
Kaylum remained on her shoulder, stationnary as a statue.

Maya introduced her friend. "This is Shay, Zane, Ange;, and Vikto-Zane," she intoduced, pointing to each one. "ANd we don't know who that is yet," she added. "Do you know?" Fen asked. He was overwhelmed by his natural curiousity.

"I believe she just introduced herself." Tessa said calmly.
"Ciara and Clover was it? At any rate, daemians are in short supply so we should all try to be friends yes?" She shot a look at Zane, that was probably more of a scowl than anything.
"Ah Zane of Angel, Shay of Victor-Zane and Ciara of Clover. A certain pleasure to meet you." Kaylum sunk into a bow that was more mocking than respectful, though it was more directed at Zane and Angel more than anything.
"And also," he said to Angel, "I have never seen such a....." Tessa cut him off, preventing him from finishing his sentence. She wasn't sure exactly what he was going to say, but she was betting it wasn't good.
"Such a lovely pelt on a tiger. So unusual." Hopefully, it would offend less.

Maya rolled her eyes, in Zane's direction. Unlike many, she wasn't afraid of him. SHe had known him for a while, and although he did need anger management classes sometimes, he wouldn't actually hurt anyone. Or atleast, that she knew of. "He's kind of emotional," she said softly and knowingly, which made Fen smotehr his light laughter that sounded more of a mrrp, then a real laugh.

"I'll say!" Tessa replied to Maya.
"I'm not a tiger." Tessa replied to Angel. "So, no."
"Certainely." Kaylum replied. "If I didn't. I'm not exactly settled. Plus, I prefer panther form."
He changed, and a low growl emitted from his throat.
"All talk, and no action 'coon boy. At any rate, you COULD be a little nicer. No harm in it now is there? I only mock those who deserve it after all. At any rate, I'm not picking a fight. But you are not dominant, and it wouldn't hurt to be a little friendlier once in a while. It wouldn't kill you. Unless, of course, it does."
Chuckling, and seeming unerved, Kaylum changed back into his 'little' squirrel form.
"I'm assuming they don't want us T. Shall we hang with Clover and the gang, or get back to reading that intensly cool vampire story you were reading?"
Tessa groaned and rolled her eyes.

" 'Coon boy." Kaylum replied. "I mean, with that eyeliner, what other kind of look could you be going for?" he kept a straight face, but Tessa could tell he was suppressing laughter.
"And don't even bother. I've seen more graceful elephants. Try it now 'copper toes'"
Kaylum shifted, into a beast probably unknown to Zane. The Elasmotherium, the prehistoric unicorn. Looked like a hairy rhino, but with one difference. From the reddish pelt rose a massive at least 2 meter long horn, capable of goring through a person's body in an instant. He whirled around.
"It's really quite pointless, but if you want to try beating your head on a wall, go ahead kid. I'm fed up of fighting with you. A little bit of coffee could have helped no problemo. So do the public a service. Drink coffee."
