Disney was at it's best duiring the 90's with the "Disney Reinassance" era.

Can also be considered in the late 80's and 90's with it's original series.

I see the needs in Disney adquisistion that there's a big need to attract a male audience. As Disney nowadays attracts girls the most. They tried in Disney XD, and so far they failed. The female audience came the most when Disney took focus on aiming programing at teens with their "origina" movies, the Jobro, and series like Hannah Montana. I don't see that this problem around the 90's.

So rather than separating genders, Disney should unite them. Making stuff that bothe genders can enjoy.

Hahaha Disney shoulndn't make series targeted at boys with a cast of msotly guys. I it believe it will just attract more fangirls XD

The only comics I ever read are all Disney ones, like the comic strip in the Tinker Bell magazine and my Special Edition Lilo And Stitch, and the ones found on this site.

I'm afraid this is off topic.

Tinker this is a conversation about the "Disney buys Marvel".

Tinkerbell and her CGI movies, don't have anything to do with the topic. :|

It may do some well to Marvel, actually I have never said the opposite...
But I care more for Disney. It bothers me to see that they spend 4 billions (!!!) on buying a company instead of making new creative projects - because after spending such amount of money, they will be less enclined to take any risk on their future projects and/or will reduce the budgets.

Actually I think the biggest problem seems to be that everyone expect different things from them now. Something due to the fact they have expanded in many different ways, which even for a big company like this is difficult to handle.

But who asked them to expand into these different ways in the first place? Everything was fine until late 90 / beginning of 2000, as you mentioned.

With a company as big and ever expanding as Disney i feel like each purchase they make they treat as a long-term investment and plan for it as such. I might be wrong, but I don't think Disney let's it's purchases get in the way of doing whatever projects it wants to get done. Perhaps I have too much faith in Disney's accounting department but I just don't see this putting a damper on any productions in the pipeline.

That isn't spam, it's on topic.

No, The faries I used were an example, you weren't using them as an example. This isn't just about Disney, it's About Marvel being bought by Disney. And you can PM a person a question.
Please get back on topic, I honestly am getting Tired of your spam....
Anyway- I wonder when Disney and Marvel are going to do something together, a movie maybe? I'm wondering how that would work out.

I think Jersey Captain and Keptz bring up a good point. one cannot predict the future but what one can do is look backwards for some context. Disney has purchased many other companies overtime Miramax, Pixar, and ABC. Now back when they bought Miramax in the 90's Disney didn't stifle projects Miramax wanted to make and they ended up making Pulp Fiction a film which defines the indy film genre for the 90's. unfortunately Miramax has crumbled since that time but it wasn't really Disney's fault for the studio's failing.

When Pixar joined Disney I think the turning point occurred, Pixar is now the life-source of Disney animated entertainment and that was when Disney felt it was time to splinter it's ideas into this OR mentality, make a show for boys OR girls, teenagers OR young children. I'm not blaming Pixar for any of this shift because their productions seem to be the only ones that held through as films for everyone.

The ABC buy out really seemed to be Disney's attempt to further it's television influence to a large network and was a much more expensive deal than the Marvel one at $19 billion. All I can say about this one is Disney proved it was ready to be as big a television giant as it is movie giant.

So what does this all mean for Marvel? well I think it proves that Disney isn't all about mass consolidation ad conformity. Disney has stated they want to be the sole producer of Marvel products eventually when all the current deals expire, but as before this may not mean immediately that all of Marvel's characters will become watered down. As previously stated we can't predict the future but perhaps we can take a look at the past to give some reassurance to what may happen.
