I bet it will still work fine unlike a windows-based computer that would normally overheat. That's more of a hardware issue. Most cheaper laptops that have Windows pre-installed have poor ventilation and whatnot over time... Also laptops are more susceptible to hardware failures anyway. My sister's laptop's power supply burnt out, got it replaced, a few months later, it burnt out again. Fail. I have issues with my computer though, dust keeps building up in there and I don't know why. I'm not even in a dusty sort of room or climate. Weird.

Of course it is hardware-related; that was the point. When you build a computer for mobility, there is much to sacrifice. Obviously, component space, heat buildup, sensitivity to environment, and this list can continue. And yes, all computers accumulate dust all the time. If not, your computer would not be able to breathe, because a CPU fan pulls outside air through the case to push the heated air out of the CPU- and of course your room or the outdoors is going to have dust particles in the air.

Well, I'm getting my own computer on Monday, but since I don't have my own yet I use my parents'. It's crashed twice XD But we were able to get the really important stuff out of it (we called my dad's friend who's a computer expert).

It was a while ago now, but my Compaq laptop finally crashed. The mothertboard died. Its no big deal. I can easily recover the filed from my HDD. Once I get a SATA connector. I also have two computers (although my desktop is old, slow, and crappy.) I've mostly been useing my Acer aspire one netbook.
