Skye laughed. "Your so young, You must be what.. 2?" she said tilting her head slightly as she pawed your head again.

Rosey nodded and tucked her legs up to her chest playing with her necklace with one hand. She watched the two German Shepheds and smiled.

Connie continued tugging on Skye's ear. "yeah...... about that." she swatted at Skye's noes.

Angelica driffted off to sleep.

Noah began to worry as he wandered around the house. Nothing was as it should be. Mom obviously hadn't left- her car was still in the garage, although it looked as if it hadn't been driven in years. The closet was full of clothes- moth-eaten rags, but definitely Mom's.
H went to the phone to call for help. Punching in 9-1-1, he waited for a response until he realized the phone was making no sound, not even the buzz it usually makes. It was plugged in, but there was no power. Now more than a little panicked, he dashed out of the house, grabbing his pocketknife from the table by the door, and out into the neighborhood in desperate search of someone, anyone, any fellow human being.

Opal felt hollow, panicked. What was going on?
This couldn't be true.
It couldn't be real.
It.. just.... couldn't.
Looking around, she knew it was real.
Hopelessly, she sat down on her front porch.
Maybe there were others?

Maybe... she was alone.....
If she was alone, what would she do?
Was there a point in living if she was alone?
Yes. Bramble needed company too.
Meow Her cat was on her lap, looking at her, wondering what was wrong.
It didn't bother him that there were no other people, as long as Opal was around.

Opal grabbed her cat and buried her face into his fur as a tear began to roll down her cheek.
"Oh, Bramble, what are we going to do?"
Bramble simply purred, trying to comfort her.

"What are we going to do?"

Cat's meow woke Jack again. He slowly stood up, yawning, and started to walk around the house. Soon he noticed a room with closed doors and he heard the same cat meowing(sp?) and someone talking. It sounded like a female voice. He smiled and entered the room. He saw a girl, sitting there with a cat. "H-Hello..." he slowly said to her, blushing. She looked somehow beautiful to him. "Sorry for disturbing. " he said. "Name's Jack. It's just that... Whole town is empty and there are no people around. Well, I have met few girls before, but they are the only ones I met except you. If you want to, I'll leave..." he said and was ready to leave whenever she tells him to, apart that he didn't want to. He was still very weak. His eyes were half open, half closed, and he had to lean against a wall, because he was almost falling. He tried his best to stand normally, so he wouldn't look like he's drunk.

Noah jogged up and down one street after another, looking for any sign of life. He nearly jumped out of his skin when he finally spotted a girl sitting on a porch, storking a cat. "Hey!" he called.

Opal looked up, and saw someone, who said their name was Jack. Before she could react another guy ran up to her, and called out "hey!". Breathing in sharply, Opal quickly wiped ehr eyes to wipe away any traces that she had been crying.

"H-hello! Do you guys know what happened to everyone? I think... it was...." She let her voice trail off, and looked down at the papers.

"My names Opal. And you don't have to leave. I guess my house is... Okay to stay in..." She said, clenching her teeth.

She was so grateful to see more people she could nearly have hugged them, but she wasn't the sort of person who would hug someone she didn't know.

"I'm glad there's other people, I don't know what I would have done alone..... Anyways, whats you name?" She asked, gesturing to Noah.

"We don't know what happened to others. I just met some new people here. We're trying to look for more. Well, I guess we can go. I mean, I know two more girls who might feel a bit lost...I wanted to say...We could form something like a gang or group or something and try to figure this out." he said, smiling at both. "Anyway, name's Jack." he said, looking at Noah. He soon remembered something."Hey guys, I can tell one thing. Before I met you and those other girls, when I was still alone here, I've spotted a shadows. They didn't look like they were human shadows. They looked more like a shadows of some kind of a creature. I've followed them, but then they dissapeared in the air. I was nearly shocked and now I just wanna find out about those..." he said, looking around the house. "And, I cannot stay here. I've gotta more important things to do like the one that I just said, so...May we go?" he asked, trying to not appear annoying to them. He couldn't stop looking at Opal, so he lowered his head and looked at Bramble. "Anyway, cute kitten you have here." he said, smiling.

Noah sucked in his breath. "Sorry," he said. "I didn't mean to startle you. I'm Noah." He looked at Jack. "You said you found others, and you saw some kind of shadow?"

"Yeah. There are two more girls here that I've met before. And, about shadows...Yeah, it looks like...They didn't beling to a human. Maybe to some kind of creature but just not a human and not a stray dog or cat." he said. "But anyway, I'm glad that you appeared, Noah. Now I won't be surrounded by girls..." he whispered into Noah's ear and quietly laughed.

Noah laughed a little too, more to cover up his unease than because he thought Jack's remark was funny. "Well, where was it? And did you see what it looked like?"
Then he thought of Opal. She looked withdrawn, afraid. And who wouldn't be? "Are you okay?" he asked.

Jack laughed too."Well...I didn't see how it looked. It somehow appeared it has fangs and...I don't know. Almost like prehistoric creature, but more uglier and stranger looking...I don't know really. I just wanted to ask if maybe we, you and me, could go find those?" he asked Noah.

Angelica woke up and looked at Rosey. "i'm up, d'ya wanna go look for more people?" she said, not smiling, smiling a lot wasn't her thing. she walked into the pet store, grabbed a callor and a leash for Connie. she pulled out Connie's tags from her pocket. she walked out of the store. "here Connie!" she said.

Connie ran up to Angelica. "hey! so now what ya wanna do Angie?!" she wagged her tail, she loved people.

Angelica laughed. she put the tags on the callor, the callor on Connie, and the leash on the callor. "there, we don't want you running off." she sighed. "i can't believe that you're my only loved family......." she whispered to herself.

Rosey stood up and smiled. "Yeah, Lets find some more people" she said looking over at Skye. "Skye, Come here" she called.

Skye's ears prick up as she runs to Rosey wagging her tail. "Coming!" she said. It seemed like a bark to humans though.

"Good girl" Rosey smiles as she pats Skye's head.

Jack stopped talking with Noah and looked at Opal. She looked pretty much scared, and a sad look appeared on his face. He walked up to her and sat next to her. He wrapped his arms around her. " Why are you so afraid?" he asked, but that moment he noticed a newspaper. He picked it up and readed everything. " Oh my..." he just said, getting an idea of what that means. He put his head on Opal's shoulder, and sighed."I hope everything will be okay..." he whispered. Then added."Just please don't think that I ment something by wrapping my arms around you...I'm just trying to be friendly." he smiled at her.
