Bic:// Shido just yawned loudly, as usual, as he woke up to a bright, late-morning sun. He looked down to his mate, who was also sleep, and just smiled before heading out into the open air. He was still tired because he had to do a Midnight Patrol last night, and Madoka had stayed up all night waiting for him. Even though their two chicks, Ban and Kira, were out and about already, he knew he still had a lot more to do. But how to solve this whole human problem, he thought, is going to take a whole lot of thinkig and hard work. But what to do!...

Kira and Ban were just chasing each other throughout the camp, but when they both saw their father finally awake, they both ran passed him and shouted out their good mornings before continuing out towards the forest. They knew it was dangerous, but they just want to get some exercise. No harm done... (^_^)

Roran heard the little pitter patter of paws near-by in the forest, he went to investigate, leaving Flare and Skye behind. He soon came to Kira and Ban. "Hey, I know you two, yeah..you're the alpha's kids." He said.

(Pure one it says in the first post that food is scarce (ie not a not of it) and that the dragons are only as big as wolves so I don't know how one dragon could carry 10 cows, the humans don't even have cows or anything like that yet, please go back and edit your post)

Reyan nodded, sighing to himself. He knew that Fyro was not the best of hunters, he had been one of the dragons to find him with his head stuck down a rabbit hole, and had stood there laughing to himself for five minutes before some other dragons came along to help him out. He of course had run away so that Fyro didn't see him, but he always had a laugh with the other dragons about it. 'I suppose you realise that catching things will be hard seeing as there isn't very much, but of course everyone knows that, but some dragons are saying that there is plenty to eat because the humans are edible, what do you think about eating them, I personally don't like it' he said. He stopped, sniffing the air before sighing and carrying on again. 'I can't even scent anything, I am surprised the humans haven't moved away by now' he muttered bitterly, everyone's lives had been ruined by the humans, and he often wondered if any other packs had the same problem.

Kira and Ban both stopped when they saw Roran. Ban was a bit curious, but Kira just smiled and nodded. "Yeah!" she replied. "I'm Kira, and this is my brother Ban. Please to meet you!"

"They're edible," Fyro agreed. "They just don't have the best taste to them. At least most of the wildlife that used to live here didn't have guns and tacky armor to defend themselves with. Whatever happened to the good old days when fights were settled with scales, tails, and claws?" He was ready to fire off on a series of rants when he suddenly realized Rayan was only paying half-attention.

"Hey," he said in as serious a tone as he could. "You can't blame them for who they are. Our kind prospered through a time when the earth was once considered to be ours too. Perhaps it's just time the Age of Men succeed the Dawn of Dragons."

He didn't know whether the idea of stepping down would offend Rayan, and although he usually wouldn't care, hunting was a cooperative effort and it wouldn't help if they started one being angry at each other. So before he could reply, Fyro quickly pushed the idea aside and changed the topic. "We'll probably have to fan out farther than our usual hunting grounds go," he said. "If anything, you'll need me in case we step into hostile territory -- humans may be the invading force, but that doesn't mean they're our only enemy." He dipped his head down, waiting for Rayan to agree with him.

Reyan blinked a few times, feeling slightly dazed from letting his thoughts wander so much. 'I agree that they are edible, but as you say they do taste bad, and they are sentient as well which I think gives them a good reason to exist' he said. He looked down at his feet, once again thinking of how life used to be, of his childhood and his family that had been taken by the humans so long ago. He shook his head, desperate not to start his blubbering in front of Fyro, he could do that later when he was by himself. He looked up sharply at something that Fyro had said, and all of a sudden he felt dizzy, a bit woozy maybe. 'Succeed us? Are you saying we are a dying race' he said, his voice hoarse with worry. The truth was obvious, there was no way that their kind could survive against what the humans had unless they evolved in some way, but still it hurt him to think that there was no possible way to save their kind. As Fyro started to say about hunting, all noise seemed to dissapear, he could see him talk but wasn't really listening. Something else had caugh his attention. 'Ssh, Fyro listen, what do you hear' he hissed, keeping his voice low. He didn't know if Fyro had noticed it, but all the birds had stopped their songs, and there seemed to be no noise what so ever.

(Right I don't know who is still in the den site but get out quick, because in a couple posts the explosion is going to happen )

Illis had watched Melinda warily as she landed and threw a rabbit to Ladon. The male, Ladon, seemed to know her well, maybe they were friends, maybe they were something more, she wouldn't know, no one ever talked to her and she never talked to anyone, it was a mutual rule. A strange scent tickled the edge of what she could scent, the kind of smell that came with fear or a fight for power. The smell of smoke. It was a strange thing to scent here, no one would be breathing fire unless they were attacked, but she knew the feeling that went with the smell well, a feeling of impending doom, a strange out of body experience that could only mean one thing. Not again? Please don't let it be true she thought, as images of fire and dust filled her mind. The den site was blackened with soot and burns, dragons drifted like ghosts from one place to another, searching for things that wouldn't be found in the way they want. When will this happen, soon? In many years? After she is dead and gone? It didn't matter, it would happen and there was no way to change it. She hadn't realised Ladon had been speaking to her and she looked down to see the rabbit Melinda had brought, and Ladon had backed away. She looked at him with her golden eyes, blinked once, and then silently turned away and dissapeared into the mist.

Kira and Ban both nodded and they started digging into the rabbit. "So..." Kira had to say, just to break the silence. "What do you think is going on?" Since she's still young, she can't really understand anything. Unlike her brother, she tends to be a bit slow on the news. Ban just sighed and rolled his eyes. He's heard this question a million times...

Shido also stopped and listened hard. ...Not a sound was to be heard, and the birds have, in fact, stopped singing. He suddenly had a very bad feeling within the bit of his stomach. He whipped around and flew back towards his den to see if Madoka was still there. Thankfully she was awake, but when she saw the look upon her mate's face, she knew that something terrible was going to happen. "Shido?...."

Fyro halted and twitched his ears. He looked around, scrutinizing over their surroundings, but he didn't find anything particularly out of place. "Yeah, I hear something," he scoffed. "My stomach growling, that's what." He took a single step forward and something seemed to snap in the distance. Instantly, the ground underneath Fyro exploded, and he cried out a series of startled roars as a web of rope constricted around him and lifted the thrashing dragon high into the treetops. For a few moments, Fyro struggled, but the more he twisted, the more entangled he became. He couldn't even bend his spiked tail enough to sever some of the ropes. "I hate hunting!" bellowed Fyro vociferously. "I hate hunting anything smarter than me! Get me down from this thing before I burn the whole forest down!"

"Really. Well, thank you for that wonderful piece of insight," snarled Fyro from somewhere in the treetops. In his annoyance, plumes of sparks were flying out of his nostrils. He thrashed around some more for a couple more minutes before finally deciding he couldn't do it alone and his energy ran out. With a poisonous glare burning down at the others in his eyes, he hung suspended in the air, limply swinging back and forth. "Sometime before the humans come back to see what they've caught would be nice," he snorted, thin wisps of smoke curling from the sides of his mouth.
