I haven't yet (I'm keeping a few away voluntary because when I will have seen all of them, well there won't be anymore, and seeing something for the first time is just not the same as rewatching it...) ooh me!.. though the two banned episodes.. (Lost Horizons.. and Flying Dupes I won't be able to see again because of 9/11 fears.. the first episode had to deal with Baloo finding a lost city of Panda's then later the Pandas attack Cape Suzette by firing rockets or something at them..( been a while since I've seen it) the other episode was that Baloo was delivering a bomb (unkownedly) to Thembria.. ( so basically a bomb scare).. I think this has been mentioned.. but T.spin has 2 dvd's out in Region 1 ( I believe around 27 eps each) you can probably get on the internet , Library, or your video store if interested...

Last Horizons is one of my favorites episodes - I'm not sure if the ban was justified, but it's on the DVDs (the second volume) Haven't seen Flying Dupes yet. These two episodes are available here : http://www.spinnerstuff.com/pl.htm (as well as some other rare stuff!) Yes of course, I made a review of the DVDs on the site : http://www.animationsource.org/talespin ... &id_film=9

My favourite episode (don't remember the title exactly)- the episode when Baloo fights against Don Carnage & nearly loses his Sea-Duck. If I'm not mistaken, it's the 4th part of "Thunder & Lightning". It impressed me so much that for some time I was dreaming of being a pilot of a hydroplane

It impressed me so much that for some time I was dreaming of being a pilot of a hydroplane There are several episodes where Baloo is attacked by the air pirates, although yes you're probably talking about the end of "Plunder & Lightning". Actually...

He really destroyed the Sea Duck in many pieces, and it sunk. Rebecca spent her money on repairing it entirely instead of buying a new plane... The movie version of PLunder & Lightning (which is VERY rare, many cuts have been made for the syndicated 4 parts version which is on the DVD - and the movie version has never been aired since 1990...) is available on the same site : http://www.spinnerstuff.com/pl.htmAnd this is a MUST SEE for any TaleSpin fan, and for everyone else too because this is actually the pilot of the series. I'll probably make articles about this.

Not only is the uncut version of “Plunder and Lightning” the pilot, it also does a great deal to develop the characters and their relationships to each other. The uncut version portrays Baloo, Kit, Rebeca and Molly as more of a family than the syndicated version. In fact, many of the cuts seem to have been made to dull the emotion of various scenes. For instance: Rebeca's entire song was cut (1 min 30 sec) which is, by far, the most egregious edit as that scene speaks volumes of Rebeca's character and of her relationship with Kit. Also, a short segment in which Kit decides to go his own separate way and Baloo convinces him to stay, was cut. Later, Kit shares some details of his past with Baloo and they hug. A second or two where Kit hesitated before hugging Baloo suggesting that maybe he didn't fully trust him, was cut. I can't say why Disney would cut such heartfelt moments, but it is definitely a shame. Maybe they didn't want to set the bar too high because they were not willing or able to maintain the level of quality of the uncut version for the rest of the series. Regardless of the reasons for the cuts, the uncut version is, without a doubt, better than the syndicated version in pretty much every way. If you haven't seen the uncut version, you may download it at the link provided by steet. It will be broken into four parts and compressed into rar archives. Or if you would like, you may download a contiguous version here: http://www.spinnerstuff.com/files/misc/plcomplete.avi It is the same video, only not split into parts and not compressed. I just prefer it as a single file because one file is easier to keep up with than four and no having to deal with extracting archives. Not that multiple files or archives are really that much trouble; I guess I'm just lazy sometimes. Anyway, size is 981Mb, run time is 1:30:41. So if you haven't seen the uncut TaleSpin pilot, here's your chance! Don't delay, you will not be disappointed!

I also noticed that. And don't forget Kit's last word "Always" which has been cut too (a strange cut...) I wonder the reasons behind these cuts... Quote: Maybe they didn't want to set the bar too high because they were not willing or able to maintain the level of quality of the uncut version for the rest of the series. But they DID, and actually my favorite episodes aren't from the pilot (even though I like it pretty much too and think it is on-par with "real" animated movies from Disney...) I think I'm going to make a dedicated topic for this...

If some of you are interested to continue the debates on Jungle Cubs and TaleSpin, Gregory Weagle has written a very interesting (and long) article about that on his livejournal : http://gregory-weagle.livejournal.com/

^wow, that's a really long article steet but very informative.. this really has to do with Jungle Cubs.. but if you saw those extra scenes with the adult Jungle book characters I can understand why they cut it ( at least in america)..it's too cheesy even for my tastes .. and Baggy's and Mowgli's new voices are just too irritating.. the odd thing about those scenes is that Baloo is much better drawn than in that darn sequel.. he's not so Blue anyway..

Hi. First post here. I remember Talespin fondly. I got Volume 1 of the DVDs the day after it came out, & have been a big fan ever since. It's in my top 5 shows, & my favorite Disney cartoon aside from Gargoyles. My favorite character is Wildcat. He's hilarious. Baloo is second, followed by Kit, Rebecca & Molly. Currently, I own 57 of the 65 episodes: the 54 on the DVDs, The Sound & the Furry on the VHS tape Wise Up, Mach One for the Gripper on the tape Fearless Flyers, & Destiny Rides Again on a recording of Talespin which I bought from a thrift store (seeing as how Disney has forgotten about Talespin, Gargoyles, & the rest of the Disney Afternoon I consider these tapes a blessing, especially Sound & the Furry). This is a great site by the way. One thing I would like to see on it is episode reviews.

Quote: Currently, I own 57 of the 65 episodes: the 54 on the DVDs I have the two DVD packs, and the 11 other episodes by another -not so legal- way...but it's not like we have much choice (especially since NO channel airs them here...) The VHS are very rare, expensive (especially considering there are only 2 episodes on each) and "used"...And most episodes have not been released to VHS. Quote: I consider these tapes a blessing, especially Sound & the Furry Strange, considering it's the only episode I just can't bare watching But hey, everyone should make his opinion I admit that Wildcat was a very good character in that one, even if I prefer "Flight of the snow duck" a lot more. Quote: This is a great site by the way. One thing I would like to see on it is episode reviews. Thanks, and yes, I am planning to add this because I would like very much to post reviews too. But you can already start a topic here on the forums, if you wish...

Wowie Zowie! Boy do I ever! Although CDRR is my all time favorite show of the DA, Talespin ranks as my second favorite. This site rocks! So new and fresh with low numbers. Life here is going to great!

Hello. I'm new here and would like to state that I actually took the time not too long ago to watch the uncut pilot on YouTube, and I have to say I was quite impressed with the depth and quality that was shown in "Plunder and Lightning". I must confess, that even though when I was younger I didn't really care for TaleSpin all that much (was more or less indifferent toward it), just watching the pilot has me all the more interested in seeing this show air someplace again.

Welcome here If you liked the pilot, you'll be sure to like the entire series because it's up to the quality of it. You're not the first one stating you didn't watch Talespin when younger and who like it now - that's my case too! If you want to watch the episodes, you can of course see them on Youtube, but I would recommend getting the DVDs : they're enough cheap, and it really deserves more sales - just to show Disney it truly has potential. You can order them from the site (in the left menu : http://www.animationsource.org/talespin/en/) or get them on any store. (they're easier to find online)
