You're allowed to tell them that you don't like the Jonas brothers, but all it will do is cause a war. If it's upsetting you this much, just stay away from the SB when these sorts of conversations are happening.
Well I am also saying that the mods get a lil uptight whenever I place an opinion, they either yell at me to stop it or they call me rude. I have NOT been rude, the J/B fans have.
Proof?PM us when/if you have proof of that.
And the bolded question summarizes the problem perfectly. You (members) either don't report the mods, or you lack sufficient proof/solid material to base your report on when you do.
(unedited - that means not tampering with it, cropping it or screening anything in the screenshot, no matter what it is )Screenshots is commonly accepted as valid proof. If you don't have a screenshot, but you have the time and date of the offense (and in the case of forums, the link to the posts in question) things may take longer to happen; but we do investigate every report and things will happen - only subtly.
It may not appear that things change on the outside, but behind "closed doors", a lot of things happen. We just don't share our mysterious secrets with you members ;]
In any case, stop ranting about "the mods are mean" or "that mod did that to me and it was unfair", or whatever type of rant it is regarding moderator behaviour and actions.
Because not only (if it was the purpose of the topic exclusively) would it get your topic locked, your rant would be disregarded. What you should do is what I said above: send us a report with the evidence that you have.
I'd recommend sending them to one of these five: Myself, Togo, UK - Ban Cat, Rusty the Fox, Swords of the Wolves.
You can send copies to the rest as well.
Either way, your report will be kept 100% anonymous. The moderator you reported will not know that it's you.
We're not "uptight" when you place an opinion. The only time we
should correct you is when what you say violates the rules (or common etiquette, for that matter). If a moderator did call you rude or ask you to stop what you were doing, then it is very likely that it was done for a good reason. I'm not saying we're all "good guys", but as long as you don't supply the proof we need to start an investigation, nothing's going to be done about it. Don't pull a Slackoth and think it corrects itself automatically.

I am so sick of this mentality. Topics are not locked because they "may" downgrade into a flame war. If that were the criteria, every single topic would be locked.
This. We only lock topics for flaming/potential flaming when we see that this is clearly the way it is heading. We don't lock them because they may downgrade into a flamefest.
I see "watch this topic closely [link]" in the moderator shoutbox very frequently; we do give most of the topics a chance as long as they don't directly violate the website rules.
