Kodi saw Jessy, whom he had only met a few times, and another dog walking out of the woods toward Nome. He ran up to them, tail wagging. "Hey, Jess!" He said. Jessy was kind of like a sister to him, not a crush (he doesn't know that Jessy's really his sister, not yet). "You're headed in the direction of Balto's boat. Want me to show you where it is?" He smiled sheepishly. "I kinda guessed that you were going to find him. Or maybe you're not." He was feeling very talkative. "Balto's my dad, and I'm on his mail team."

"Okay!" Kodi chirped "Right this way!" He led Jessy through the woods, toward the edge of town. He splashed through a small creek, then checked to make sure Jessy was following him.

Luke secretly followed the two, he was curious and wanted to meet the great Balto, the dog who saved Nome.

Kodi trotted on, taking a trail he knew well, and they finally came out of the woods. Before them stood Balto's boat. "Umm, you want to talk to him first?" He asked Jessy. "Or, should I come with you?"

Luke followed silently, he hid when they came to Balto's boat. So the story was true, Balto lives in an old boat out of town. Thought Luke.
