I'll join when I find my book on hyenas. I'll do a brown hyena, I knew of them before now, they are too, too cute!

Name:Arapmoi

Meaning: son of war

Age: 2

Personality: Arapmoi is a tough type, he isn't afraid to state his opioin or fight for his life. Arapmoi is a devious Hyenea with all kinds of tricks in his mind, Arapmoi is exstreamly quick to anger which is why he is always up getting in fights and out on his own. Arapmoi can be nice at times but only to those he is really close to, Arapmoi is very hostile when it comes to others hunting his friends.

Realtion to Boon : No he was just a loner who was saved by Boon

Appearence:(note any markings ect you carnt see from pic) he has a scar on his right eye.

why you want to join boons pack: Arapmoi felt he would be able stand stronger enimes with a pack of Hyenea's to help him.
do they like/hate/love boon: Arapmoi doesn't know how to feel around Boon, He doesn't like him as much as the others but he feels he owes him for saving his life so he sticks respectful and tries his best to get along with everyone.

breif history of charecter: Arapmoi was born in a pack of his own in a small litter of three, He was the toughest out of his brother and sister and there pack was pretty strong to untill somthing happened. When Arapmoi was a year old he went out on his first hunting trip but sadly when he got back he found his pack fight off a pack of rogue lions and the lions were winning. Arapmoi did his best to help his pack but he was slashed in the right eye by the lead lion. Arapmoi was knocked out but when he awoke he found an awful sight. His entire pack was gone every member including his brother and sister and parents. From that day on Arapmoi became a lone Hyenea fighting off anyone that tried to harm him. About a half year later he was attacked by the same pack of lions from before. Again he tried his hardest to fight off to lions but they manage to pin him down, just as Arapmoi thought he was going to die another Hyenea jumped at him and yelled for him to run. Arapmoi got up but he didn't run, he fought but was pulled away by the same Hyenea. Arapmoi was furious at what this Hyenea had done but he realized that if it wasn't for that Hyenea, he wouldn't be here right now. Arapmoi soon found out that the Hyenea's name was Boon and had offered him to join his pack. Arapmoi wasn't going to enter the pack but he figured he owed Boon so he joined as there hunter and fighter. Arapmoi is now two and he is still with the pack and stronger then ever and he doesn't regret joining and may not leave but he still isn't sure.

Name: Kwilly (Rafe)
Age: 4-5

Personality: She is actually very sweet and gentle but pretends to be a tough uncaring dude. Tries really hard to be as strong as the males. When the day is done she is really beat and feels like her limbs are going to fall off, but she still gets up and does it all over agian the next day. She is ashamed of who she is and has a low self-esteem. Kwilly is called Rafe by her pack members. Very smart and can disguise her voice to sound like a male's. Tries her hardest to fit in. She eis not really a tomboy and definately not girly she is just sweet an. d gentle. Kwilly tries her best to fit in. She spends so much time hiding who she really is that she is not sure if she can ever be herself agian. She loves to play with the packs pups when nobody is around, and she secretly wishes for some of her own. Deep down Kwilly really just wants to be loved for who she is and not for who she is pretending to be.

Realtion to Boon: none

Appearence: just an odd mismatch of stripes^^

why you want to join boons pack: Kwilly--> So I can prove myself to the gods and my family that I am good and I will fall in love. I will have a litter of cubs to prove them wrong.

do they like/hate/love boon: She acctually finds him rather interesting and has a crush on him. But Boon thinks that she is a male and that 'he' acts very strange towards him. He also noticed how Rafe is very nervous around females and tries to avoid conversation with them, that is another reason he can tolerate Rafe in his pack because 'he' has no intention of stealing "his girls."

breif history of charecter: Kwilly was born in a pack that was lead by a superstitious leader. Kwilly's pack also believed in having a mate chosen for you by the time you were born. Her chosen mate was Zeffite a silly little hyena who's one ear always flopped. Sadly Zeffite died of an illness a few weeks before they were to become mates (Kwilly was currently two and a half. After a year Kwilly was then told that she would mate with Kimber. Kimber was killed in a stampede during a hunt about 4 days later. After these horrible inccidents Kwilly was viewed upon as a bad omen by the leader and the males parents. The leader was frightened and banished her from the pack. Kwilly and her mother were horrified. For a female to be banished is normally like a death sentence. Other clans will usually kill an outcast female and even if they don't kill them no other pack member will mate with them shunning the cast out female. Kwilly unfortunately didn't really think another pack would kill her she thought that she could make it into another pack. When the other pack saw her the lead male tried to kill her. Luckily she got away with a few scars. Kwilly realized that she would never make it alone she had to find some way to join a pack. Kwilly devised the plan to disguise herself as a male. She rolled in elephant dung and peculiar smelling plants to desguise her scent. She walked through borders for many rainy seasons. Usually being chased away by male pack leaders thinking that she was here to steal one of his females. At one point another did join her in her journy a handsoe male with a bum leg. She grew very happy with him around and acctually started to fall in love with him. Until Kwilly came into heat. When this happened Lizzo(the male hyena) knew that she was barren he left her. Kwilly was heartbroken, she knew that she had to hide herself better. When she stumbled upon Boon's pack he accepted her mostly because 'he' looked like an interesting character. Kwilly introduced herself as Rafe. Many of the pack members were suspicious of 'him' often thinking that 'he' was a weakling left to die while others thought 'him' interesting and full of character. Many females thought 'him' a sweetheart but very skittish around them. Boon really doesn't care what the rest of the pack thinks because he really wants to find out for himself who this Rafe really is. Kwilly only really hung out by herself and tried to avoid others expecially the females in the pack, but will once in a while have a nice yet surprising conversation with Boon. When Kwilly comes into heat she often leaves for about a week and comes back making sure to always bring food back with her as an excuse for leaving. Kwilly isn't sure though that Boon can forgive absences much longer. Kwilly is coming close to what she feared most, she knows that Boon will ask her what her problem is and she has to decide to either leave the pack and try to survive on her own for however long she can or tell the truth and she could be killed.

Mine is based entirely off real hyena activity. It's mostly from a national geographic DVD about lions and hyenas.

Name: Awiti (means "thrown away")
Age: 3 years
Personality: Awiti is proud and headstrong. She strives for excellence and won't settle for second place. She's emotionally unstable and will often yell and cry when things get to hard, but she won't give up. This makes her a very dangerous girl to be around because if something does not go her way she will force it. She has all the makings of a great pack leader but she can't. (See why in history.)
Relation to Boon: Not related, but part of his pack.
Appearance: She's pretty much the same on the other side, obviously the spots are a bit different, but still in the same general pattern. Pay attention to how the spots on her side and neck are differently coloured to those on her legs and rump.
Why you want to join Boon's pack: I hadn't thought about that. I just did, and then I made her and now I want her to be part of Boon's pack so that she'll be used because I spent a lot of time making her.
Do they like/hate/love Boon: Boon is the only creature Awiti will ever trust from now on. She feels as though he is her only friend in the world and trusts him with her life, because she has no other choice. She has feelings for Boon but will never admit them for fear of what may happen.
History: Awiti's mother was the leader of the pack, which meant that her first born daughter would lead the pack after her death. Unfortunately, Awiti was the second born of two girls. While Awiti showed more potential as a leader her sister Apiyo was stronger and favoured by the pack which meant that Awiti was at a huge disadvantage.
Apiyo's ambition to become the matriarch grew and so she knew that Awiti would be a pest to her as Awiti wanted to become matriarch as well. So when they were both a year old Apiyo tried to kill Awiti and nearly succeeded, but their mother discovered them and stopped the fight, declaring that neither of them would become leader until her own death. But that came sooner than expected.
While hunting some zebra, they were spotted by a pride of lions and the male pride leader spied Awiti's mother and killed her. So once again Apiyo fought Awiti. Awiti didn't die, but she was driven into the river. It was late in the dry season so the water was shallow, but it was treacherous and muddy and still perfect for crocodiles. Awiti climbed atop a boulder to be safe from the crocodiles and stayed there for nearly a week before the rain arrived.
As the herds migrated through the river she managed to steal a haunch from a zebra calf that a crocodile had killed and now the water was higher she just barely escaped the raging waters and slip onto the bank. She was confronted by a pack of hyenas while she was eating and they were going to kill her for tresspasing on their territory, but Awiti pleaded for acceptance into their pack (this is Boon's pack) and was granted it, so long as she participated in every hunt and would serve and protect the pack until death.

Sorry the history's so long, I couldn't shorten it. Is Boon the leader of his pack?

I think I may enter another one, but better. Give me about thirty minutes or so to make it, please.

Boon


Name: Deenka
Age: 5
Gender: Female
Personality: Deenka is the kind of girl who is not afraid to stand up for herself. She can't stand when people make fun of her, just because of her scars. She is sarcastic, but sweet. She is easy-going, and carefree with her life. Deenka is a bit of a joker, and loves to play eith her friends. She is very quirky, and random. Deenka loves to lay down and go to sleep.
History: Deenka was born into a fairly small pack of hyenas, until she was three years old. The leader of the pack, was too worried on pups, that he didn't care about problems, or overgrowth. Her pack believed in having all the land you could have, and the strongest survive, while the smallest get eaten. Thanks to this belife, their pack was brutally attacked by lions who they had upset by killing a cub, and eating it. Her mother saved her life by guarding her till she was attacked by the lion, and killed. The lion had hit her with his paw, and left a couple of scars on Deenka. She lived the life of an Outsider, and was terrified to go around any other animal. She found Boon while drinking at the water hole, and he has been her role model ever since
Her relationship to Boon: Nothing, just his friend/ pack member.
Why I want her to enter Boons pack: I love contests and hyenas, and I would love to see this hyena in a fanfic

Name: Civi
Age:5 1/2
Breed: Spotted Hyena

Personality: He is a ladies man compared to his cousin but he is oblivious to the attention females give him though. He speaks like a surfer dude always saying words like: radical, lame, totally, sweetness, tubular, and gnarly. loves to chill by the watering whole with his crocodile bros. He doesn't take anything seriously and is quite a slacker. The only reason still holding him in the pack is that if he goes so will a bunch of Boon's "crushes". He loves water and food.

Realtion to Boon: He is actually Boon's cousin

why you want to join boons pack: Civi- Well I am related to Boon after all and my parents are lame dude, I need to fly the coop and blaze my own trail.

do they like/hate/love boon: Civi-- I love him like the brother I never wanted.

Civi really does love Boon and ignores the fact that Boon is slightly jealous of Civi. Civi is currently uninterested in getting into a relationship. He would rather play with his bros and just have fun plus he doesn't want to end up like his parents. Though yet many chicks dig him and they don't even realize that he probably isn't even mature enough to have pups of his own.

breif history of charecter: His parents smothered him with love that Civi couldn't wait to leave them. When he was old enough to leave he left finally happy to have them out of his hair. he joined Boon's pack with his posse of girls that never seem to leave him but one of them ended up dieing and another left without telling anyone. Civi was thankful for there absense but Boon just go angrier at him. Thankfully Civi was able to befriend a few crocodiles and was able the come up with a food treaty. This saved Civi for a while.
