I say if you're going to compare two things, movies in this case, make sure you have something to back up what you said. If lawyers/people in court didn't have evidence or anything to back up their claims, the judge and jury would never, EVER take their claims into consideration.
Granted, this is no where NEAR as serious as court, it should be followed the same way: back up your answers, and do your research(in this case, watch both movies) before you make a statement like that.
And for those who say Bolt has better graphics, of course it does. Bolt was made in 2008, Underdog around 2007, I believe. Sure, that's only ONE year, but in one year, a lot changes, especially in a fast-paced world.
And to back up my statement as to where Bolt is lacking, not only does the story steal from Toy Story and use the unoriginal idea of a lost dog and a sad boy/girl who lost their dog, and their "courageous story to reunite". Oh please, if I wanted to watch THAT, I'd watch Lassie Come Home, at least that's classic.
And Bolt also has some problems in scene development. One ENTIRE scene on how hungry Bolt is? A bit much, to me. And some scenes are chopped short and would've made a great movie for older kids, who like stories with more background; then there were those scenes that feel like they drag on and on and will never end, as I said before, the begging scene with Bolt happens to show that rather well.
And another thing: so many serious and thoughtful moments felt rather ruined to me when they added rather stupid jokes in. Sure, it's a kid's movie, tell me something new, but it's such a let-down when an emotional scene is mixed at what would've been it's BEST point(climax, I guess you could say), and then there's one stupid, "humorous" joke thrown in. Drives me NUTS.
And just so you know, I like the movie Bolt, I've watched it more than once, not in a row, but more than once. And yes, it's a great movie for YOUNG kids, but teenagers, or pre-teens going to watch it, if they have some sense it what a movie SHOULD have, can see Bolt lacks far more originality than Underdog. Saying I havent seen the production WOULD be a lie. I have seen trailers to the Bolt movie. You can't judge a movie by its trailer. I have a video I made with Bolt clips. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WliexEVmbMo

Thank you! I cannot stand those people that answer the question in "this or that" topics when they have not seen one of the two things. If you haven't seen/read it, then you cannot form an accurate response. I really think responses like that in those types of topics should be marked as spam. x] That being said I actually like Underdog better. Like some others have said, Bolt's main plot (lost little doggy trying to get home) is, well, overdone and overrated. If I want to watch a story about a dog trying to get home I'll watch Homeward Bound. YES, Bolt is a cute movie, but it is just too much of a 'kid' movie for me to get much enjoyment out of. (Besides, I REALLY don't like Miley Cyrus and due to the fact that she was a voice in the movie it did knock off some points to me). Underdog has more of an original story - at least as original as you can get nowadays. But it didn't have such an overused plot like Bolt. I ended up liking the characters more in Underdog as well.

Yes, I hate that whole "I like this movie better, even though I never saw it" scenario.
And I have to agree with Miley Cyrus in the movie. I didn't like her voice in this movie. She did better acting in this than she'll probably EVER do in a live "comedy" show, but I couldn't force myself to like her voice in this movie. I REALLY think that the voice of Penny would have been much better with a younger girl's voice. I don't like the whole idea of mixing a 16-17-18 year old girl's voice, with a character that looks like she could be 12-13-14.
And now on the movies: I can see Underdog taking off as an animation, because there IS a cartoon version of the movie, though it was made farther back in history. But I can't see Bolt coming out any good as a live-action movie like Underdog is. You understand what I doing? I can't see Bolt becoming the genre of movie Underdog is, though I can see Underdog doing well as the kind of movie Bolt is(CGI animation).

Alright, if it were the original Underdog, then I'd have to say, holy crap yes. And even then, it would be close. But, since in all likelihood it's not, Bolt FTW.

Just the clips don't give you a good view of the movie at all, in fact. I remember back when I was purely in love with Twilight, I used to look up clips for the upcoming movies on Youtube. Guess what? I watched them, of course, but upon watching the movie, I found that the experience was ten times as good than when I had just watched the clips alone. I have done this with many movies, actually. Each time, I find that the movie is significantly better or worse than I would have thought if I had just seen the clips by themselves. So, no, just watching clips of a movie doesn't mean you know entirely what it's about. Until you actually watch both movies, I say that your parts of this 'argument' aren't really valid.

I prefer Bolt, even if I saw the two movies. But are talking about the serie or the film ? You can't make a comparison between a film with real dogs and humans and an animated film.

I'm talking about the two movies. And yes, you can make comparisons between the two if you want to, hence the reason everyone else has been doing so.

I like both. I couldn't decide if I liked Bolt better, because the German Shepherd is a main protagonist or Underdog, because it had real people.

Bolt, definitely. Though I liked Underdog, it isn't in any way better than Bolt.

Hmm... I would have to say Bolt for this one. I like the 3D animation better than using real people and dogs. I just don't like how Underdog animated the dog's mouths to make it look like their talking. It's just not fitting to me.
