The girl is obviously not mentally ready for such things (sleeping with several guys is an obvious example). No one cane be truly ready for something like that, in the sense of being able to do it without severe repercussions of some kind. We simply were not made for sexual immorality, which these things certainly are no matter what anyone may try to tell you. As for this girl you know, do something. Tell a teacher, a cop, or somebody who is in a position to intervene. Even if your suspicions aren't accurate, smoking and drugs are still a problem and must be dealt with immediately.

Well that is the cause of alot pof Under age pregnancies in the UK, you get drunk, have some *Insert drug here*, you don't understand what your doing, you get pregnant. The same for the men, you either get drunk, or take alot of drugs - And suddenly you become a father.

Still not the baby's fault. And even in cases like that, there are alternatives. For example, an unborn baby can be transplanted from one woman's womb to another. I am aware of one case, for example, where a woman was expecting twins (identical, as it turned out) and, for some reason, could not safely carry both of them to term. So she had one of them transplanted to her sister, who carried and birthed the baby for her. Both women survived, and the children were born healthy (and with the rare distinction of being identical "cousins"). So even in cases of the mother having been... mistreated, or in the event that she cannot safely have the child herself, it's not like abortion is the only option, no matter what groups like Planned Parenthood may tell you. you have a point Dragon, but so does Ghost... lets say... the father sexually abused his daughter?.. or the brother sexually abused the sister?.. first off the child itself would be in terrible risk of serious health concerns and mental and physical problems.. and deformaties if possible.. although i am against abortion.. but i agree with w.e the mother choses... if she wants abortion.. let her be, if not.. good for her... but here in Canada it's not the laws choice anymore women now have a say in if they want to keep it or not... but putting pressure isn't good either like saying "she should have gotten the abortion" blah blah blah... but for those against it... would you really be calling her a murderer??.. if she thought that adoption wasn't an option for her.. and she knew she couldn't care for it properly.. then yeah.. but truely think of the girl/women's feelings before yourselves.. if she wanted abortion and she thought it was best and adoption wasn't a choice she has in mind.. then let it be.. instead of going around calling this women a murderer.. is already crucial enough.. think about what they're going through and how they feel besides jumping to the fact she killed an innocent child that might not have a good enough life in her opinion. again like i've posted it's quite disgusting and this isn't something i agree with, although if i was the mother i'd do a paternity test on the potential fathers and let the REAL father deal with it and help her.. other than just saying hey it's this guy who's the dad.. but anyways.. that's about all i got to say for now.

Dragon once again true.. if drugs are involved.. tell someone who can do something about it.. and also the thought of her drinking, doing drugs and what not during this pregnancy can seriously harm the child's future and present health... and Conay.. am sure it is, since i have several friends who live there and that's how most of their friends have gotten pregnant and half of which never knew and were still drinking/smoking/doing drugs all together.. but then again, people should honestly be more aware of things so they're not stuck in such situations and the plain fact some women (especially the young ones) have a hard time coping with it being a mother and all and having barely any money, being on welfare from being kicked out of their parents house.. if lucky they're still at home with their parents with their help....

Black --> Somehow I knew somebody would open that can of worms. Yes, genetic defects and birth deformities are a major problem these days, and particularly in cases like you described. But it's still not the kid's fault, and it doesn't have to impede the quality of their life. Of course anyone can tell me, "That's easy for you to say." But then you see very few proponents of abortion who have birth defects or genetically related deformities. Are the abortionists killing off their best supporters, or their worst enemies? My mother works with a lot of disabled people. One of her clients, now deceased, had no ability to move from the neck down. She couldn't do anything for herself except talk or communicate through a special computer operated by her chin. And she was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. I admit I didn't talk to her all that often, but I never once heard her complain. Yes, you may argue, but was she born that way? Admittedly no, so let's look at someone who was born worse than that. Meet Nick Vujicic, a man born (for no discernable reason) with one of the most challenging "deformities" imaginable: no arms, no legs. Since birth. If anyone has a right to say that his life isn't worth living, it's him. But did he play that card? Did he let it defeat him? No. He learned how to swim in just a few lessons, even though his only appendage is a small limb more resembling a fin than a foot. In elementary school, he was an ace soccer player and, somehow, a champion at handball (you heard me right). He's engaged in fishing, hockey, and a whole host of sports many people with perfectly good limbs consider themselves incapable of. And he's traveled to 19 different countries at the age of 25. Were it not for the college I'm at, I doubt even one healthy person I know at twice that age would have been to even 10. His career: motivational speaker. Here are a few of his own words, selected for the multi-religious requirements of this site. "...God has given me the strength to surmount what others might call impossible. Along with that, the Lord has placed within me an unquenchable passion to share this same hope and genuine love that I’ve personally experienced with more than two million people all over the globe." You can find the rest right here at his website. http://lifewithoutlimbs.org/He can't drive a car. He can't hold a fork. He has expressed repeated doubts about the prospect of marriage, wondering what kind of husband and father he could be if he'd never even be able to hug his wife or hold his children. Yet he considers life worth living. Far more than many who have it way better, he has truly found life, and life to the full. Some people may think of me as insensitive for saying that deformed children should be put through the "struggle" of living. But I defy you to find me any person who has had to face obstacles as heavy as those faced by this man. Until then, consider the "deformity" argument beaten to a pulp. By an unarmed man, no less.

Maybe because the parents would more than likely find out about the pregnancy were they to choose adoption. If they had went with an abortion the parents of both children would have never found out - at least if it is like it is in many places throughout the US where you don't need parental consent.

Well, as stated in the main post (Uh, I think), the reason they never got an abortion, nor are they putting it up for Adoption is because little Alfie thinks it would be fun to be a dad. Stupidity, I highly doubt he's the father anyway.

That's just sick, treating a kid like a mere novelty item and going into parenthood because it "might be fun." What happens when they get bored with being parents? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saing that parenthood can't be fun or that it's wrong to anticipate it as such (perhpas I am jumping the gun somewhat on this account too). Parenthood is fun at times (I have no direct experience, but I've seen enough healthy families to know this), and the more you do it right, the more fun it can be. But a child is not just a plaything to try out for fun, like some pull-string doll. Everyone who might be a parnet someday, listen up: A kid is a human being, with needs of their own, who can't pander to your desire to play whenever you want to play, and will sometimes have needs, either emotional or physical, that need to be satisfied when mommy and daddy aren't in the mood. No one has the right to take on such a responsibility with such an uncaring approach, because it's not just their own life they'll be messing around with. Those who approach parenthood like it's some kind of game will inevitably come face-to-face with two big, red words: YOU LOSE.

Well, no offense to the girl involved here, but she went and slept with someone and got pregnant. She has to be held accountable to that. I think getting an abortion to keep a pregnancy like this a secret would be horribly selfish and sick. IMO, it would be very uncool for two young teens to rob their child of a potential lfie just to cover up their mistake. But they were just that, young teens - one hardly even a teen. I for one would have held nothing against them if the girl had decided to get an abortion rather than have it.

If they'd gotten an abortion for the sake of secrecy, I definitely would've held it against them. Honestly...I think it's disgusting. What it amounts to for me is "oops! now there's a baby on the way. didn't see that coming...quick, get rid of it before our parents find out!" Well the boy is 13 and the girl 15. Do you really think they honestly would have thought of the "best way to do things"? Well, obviously, just the fact they had it and are keeping it prove that to be wrong. They are still children. I don't see it right to hold something like that against them. Heck, for some mothers at that age, it probably would have been better to have an abortion. But I'm strongly attached to my Pro-Choice beliefs. If she got one, I wouldn't hold it against her - no matter why she did. She didn't, so okay, that's good for her I guess. But she should have put it up for adoption so someone who actually can, can take care of it.

The bottom line is - which I think everyone will agree with - is that they shouldn't have had unprotected sex in the first place. The fact that they're not married doesn't bother me in the slightest - but the fact that they're throwing their own childhood away by having a baby is just awful.
I'm not against abortion though - as long as it's done within reason. Like the parents couldn't afford to look after the baby, or whatever.
The legal age for having sex in the UK is 16. Same for marriage, but it has to be with parental permission. A lot of people these days have sex at a younger age, and it's just not right. Doesn't their childhood not mean anything to them? Can they really find it so hard not to control their hormones? I mean ... sure, us teenagers all have this problem, but come on.
I just hope they keep their promise and raise the baby properly, and with love and care. I don't fully support them, but come on. They could've been younger. And they could've not wanted to look after the baby properly. Atleast they're actually preparing themselves for parenthood.
My point is - thing could be a lot worse.
