They have to validate them, yes, to make sure they are not breaking any rules. -- Some of you people need to learn that moderators on this site are humans, too. We have lives outside of this place. If you think we are here 24/7 just to serve your [mostly petty] needs, you are dead wrong. I'm sick of so many of you people saying "mods are lazy" or "the mods don't do their jobs" and crap like that. You guys think you could do a better job? Yeah. Right. Most of us are late teens and I know there are a few that are adults. We have jobs. We have friends. We are not paid to moderate BS. Many of us come in our spare time when we could be doing something else. Learn to freaking appreciate what some of the moderators do. Do you know what a mess half of this place would be without Lux and UK making sure the forums are in top shape? Do you remember how the Ask Questions section looked so hectic and messy before I cleaned it up thoroughly after coming back? Do you know how many fanfics are sent that need to be read and validated. We are taking time out of our lives to help make this place better for you all and we don't get anything in return. The lot of you could be a lot more appreciative of that. And if you do find a mod that doesn't "do their job", PM Togo. It's not that hard. Togo is the lead mod, he can take care of it.Another note ; just because a moderator doesn't post messages doesn't mean they are not doing their job! I have seen so many people say things like "Well I haven't seen [insert moderator's name here] for a long time!! They must not be doing their job and we should demod them now!!!111onetweleve11!" NO. A moderator can do their job perfectly fine and not post messages. Calm down, Tibb. It wasn't supposed to sound "harsh" but using bold words and such is the only way I know how to highlight points. xD It's so much easier when I say stuff like that in person. I was just trying to make it easier for people who "skim" read things instead of reading the whole posts like some people. Sorry. D:

Kohaku Kurama wrote: I'm going to put my best two cents in. From experiance, if there are too many Mod.s, it will get out of hand. This forum is BIG. Yes, it may be divided up into two main sections, but still, it's big. There are over 12160 members on this forum, and only 6 forum mods. Ok, so let's say that you are a Balto fan forever, but a Lion King hater, ok, so one day, every thing's fine in Balto land, but down here in Lion King land, it's bad, this one user keeps spamming, making useless topics, no, let's say 10 members, 10 VS 6, Ok? And the Lion King forums are looking pretty bad now, and then in Balto land it happens, 20 VS 6 And we all know there is most likely twice as many members on the main site than the forum. And many of them send in sometype of fanwork. 26 VS - 12160 X 2- Yeah, that's a lot. They have to work threw that. The Mod's can't full-fill every need. They are just as human as you. They can have a parent die, a pet. And most of the mods are Teenagers, and some adults. So they are busy, Gotta get out of High school, get into collage, pay the rent, buy food. They face that. Buying food VS Moderting little kids on a kids site Winner = Buying food. Most of them do this in there spare time, they can't do everything. And as I said before, From experiance, if there are too many Mod.s, it will get out of hand. I know they are doing there best, we could help out too, by Not making useless topics, contests, art, fanfics, images, and behave. That could help them greatly, and hopefully speed things up. So try maybe combinding your art together next time, and maybe just post your fanfics on the forum. It might help a little. You speak words of wisdom, allmighty one.

Alright, now this is just getting out of hand. I can already see this topic turning into an argument.
First of all, I'd like to thank those members AND mods who are being calm about this matter. I think they know who they are. Thanks for keeping this from turning into a flame war.
Anyway, I am no saying the mods don't do their jobs. I didn't even say ALL of them. Some moderators were "slacking" a little, and like I said, were complaining when they were asked to give a much needed update. No, I did not say they never do their job. The mods don't care. Etc. I just think we should have a few MORE, maybe even newer members (But not so new that they don't know the rules, minimum six months or something) who are very interested in the site at the moment. That may be a solution.
Also, I respect that everyone has a life. I respect that they have jobs to go to, friends to be with, and well, lives to live. But if you think you're too busy to work together with the other mods and look after the site together, and help keep everyone happy, why take the job in the first place?
Finally, I realize that at the time I made this rant mods were dealing with the cracker and such, which is a perfectly good reason for the lack of updates. Things have been picking up recently, updates are being performed daily again in some sections. I'd also like to point out that I did not know we were allowed to send reports about certain mods to Lux and Togo. Therefore, I don't really see the point in this topic remaining open.
If it's okay with the moderators, I'd like to request that this topic is locked.

Lux, The Janitor picks up his broom and swipes the floor, noticing a rather strange-looking sticker on one of the topic doors. His eyes squint as he tries to interpret the strange language the text on it is written in, but he understands that this door has been requested locked. His aching back creaks as he sits down in a nearby chair, looking for the right key. Failing to find it, he instead chose to replace the lock on the door with a new one. After ensuring it is tightly locked, he neatly stuffs the key away in his inner pocket. "All safe and sound..." he mumbles as he continues on his way, sweeping the floor with his broom.
