I have another suggestion. Its called Paint.Net http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/
its total freeware. not nearly as feature packed as gimp, but its for those who like ms paint. it give a bunch of new things like layers, la la la, read up and try out!

this is the program that i use for my signatures and my request topic. it's pretty simple to use, but it requires a basic knowledge of computers.

I know people on here have a hard time getting photoshop because it costs so much. If you do look on ebay you can find some nice deals if any of you are looking to upgrade from GIMP.
