I think its friendly enough, even if a kid reads or listens to the song until the parent or child complains about this to the site whats the big deal? I think people worry too much about stuff that isnt even a big problem on the site. Anyways I support your concern but, also think its something that'll keep happening on the site. Even if you manage to get her post locked about the songs, someone else is bound too post something else with explicit content again. Just trust me in saying in many ways the rant board isnt very helpful. Its to rant thats it.Half the people will disagree with your opinion and maybe two will defend you. Thats why this board is becoming somewhat useless to me. So? Everytime a sick person gets well, someone is bound to get sick or hurt again later. Does that stop doctors? No. And it is a big deal, because Balto was made for kids, and this site is dedicated to maintaining the legacy of Balto. If we alienate, through the parents, the very demographic the movie was made for, where does that leave us? It would be like a grden with no soil and poisoned water: useless. It was not about the songs you are concerned about, but rather the specific things "lost one" said. No, I understood that.

I listened to all the songs marked explicit and the only one that actually was, was the one you mentioned "I'm not your boyfriend, baby". I agree that one should have been left out of the fan news, there's swears...and then there's swears. You could have just PMed Drew herself or just PMed the "mods" account so all of us received it and voiced your concerns about it and let us know that it should be removed. (We don't allow music videos with swearing like that in them, so it follows we wouldn't allow one anywhere else too).
It's not a huge problem though. Drew did a really good job of finding a good variety of songs that actually DO represent the characters. A lot of people do just choose their favourite song and make it fit one of their favourite characters. It really is a challenge to find fitting songs these days without swears in them to fit a character like Steele.
(Last point: Niether Balto or Lion King are actually KID'S movies. They're family movies. A lot of things these days that are intended for kids and adults have "questionable" things in them. The Simpsons for example. Without direct swearing in it, it's still got questionable things in it.)

I should have contacted him privately before taking it to the forum, and I blame myself for getting ahead of things. As for selecting songs that would fit the characters in question, I might be able to come up with one or two (I could name some people who would label my choices as too "Brady Bunch" for lack of cursing, etc., but whose problem is that?). So might a lot of other people, which is part of the reason I made this topic here viewtopic.php?f=49&t=22294 . Besides, from what I saw of that song, it hardly matched Steele. Aside from the language it used, the overall "Not interested" message was anything but his kind of attitude unless I'm missing something. Well, all's well that ends well at least.

Like I said ranting is pointless....everyone will disagree and your comparisons are a little irrational compared to the internet. Try as you may this site will ALWAYS have problems. Anyways whatever,I understand your concern, but I'm pretty much done with this topic. You can quote me but,I probably won't read it. I'm not trying to be mean at all,its just this subject seems to be getting taken care of so there is nothing further to add in my opinion, I never said you were being mean, and I agree. It would have been much wiser to address the matter separately, and i admit I was wrong to do otherwise. But at least it ended well. Didn't say you did. Its just my comment did sound pretty mean if I didn't clarify it and I didn't want you to take my opinion as rude or anything and yes I am commenting again but, only because I want to clarify what I meant and technically that has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

I agree DT, Songs like those should be Saved For Youtube. -- This is a Kid's site, most Reasonable parents don't want their children to cuss. Swear, which ever you would like to call it. Yes, there are Teenagers (13 and up) that are not affected by it. But there are younger kids. It's bad enough that there are some pretty R rated FanFiction on BaltoSource, but Videos attract more attention.
