Ralph would probably bsck out of a tough spot, but Kodi has the courage to do what's right at any cost and under any circumstances. If Ralph had that in him too, it wouldn't matter. Honestly? As far as I know, Ralph didn't exactly 'back out' of anything. Just because he complained about an ingrown toenail, I don't see how it makes him a quitter. From his point of view at the time, not going after Duke was the right thing to do. And he encountered a 'tough spot' in the movie where they risked losing their jobs, but he was completely ready to face the challenge.

"Completely ready," as in at the tail of the pack (so to speak) when it came to going. Granted, Kodi hesitated at the start. But when he was seriously confronted with the gravity of the situation, he found his integrity. He did the rightthing while the rest of the team hung behind. Besides, if Ralph was making excuses from the start and couldn't suck it upover a toenail, what makes you think he could handle something really serious?

You guys aren't satisfied with single characters? There has to be romance and love between EVERY SINGLE male and female character that so much as look at each other in the movie? That is so true. Just because they're the main characters doesn't mean they have to be in love with each other. However, there is another possibility. What if Dusty or any of the other team members has someone who we didn't see in the movie? Someone who isn't on their sled team. I mean, they could have friends and relationships outside of their jobs right?

Because he handles it at the end of the movie? He has a job and takes it just as seriously as either Kirby or Dusty? Because "Are you ready? I'm ready! Are you ready? Cuz I'm ready!" Because he made the only good point as to why losing their jobs is a bad thing? ("If we don't deliver the mail, who will want us?") Because he knew that they needed Balto in order to win the race and not himself (or Kirby)? Just cuz he's not as srsfaced as Kodi, doesn't mean he can't be mature xD Try looking at things from all angles.

I've seen a lot of fanfics along those lines, particularly about Kodi, where some new girl dog shows up and she and Kodi hit it off. I even saw one fanfic with him pairing up with Steele's daughter.
