That's fine with me. And yeah, she is pretty!

Hmm....I suppose its Keno's turn to post?

Keno sat on the pebble-covered shores, his eyes passively watching the younger dogs enjoy themsellves. Why should they mess around, they had a race in a few hours. They should be focusing on the job! He certainly wasn't going to go in the river himself. It reminded him too much of...other things. The soft sunlight, gentle and warm, was already making him drowsy-and besides, he should be saving all his energy for the big race. He gave a surly grunt and put his large head on his thick paws, already dozing off into a dreamworld, a happier place, as far as he was concerned.

OOC: Well, I don't really know where we were up to in the 'order' but I guess I'll post now... all the OOC post kinda stuffed things up a bit, but it doesn't matter. It's easily fixed.

BiC: Saba loved the feeling of the cool water soaking through her fur. She didn't understand why Lucifer and Keno were so... uptight about what Alpine did. Sure, it was dumb, but as long as he could still run the race there was no harm done, right? He was still able to run, right?
Saba was disrupted from her thoughts when she heard a sharp whistle from their musher. She leaped right out of the water and shook herself dry before running over to her master.
"Good girl, Kiki." He said, rubbing her over with a towel. Saba could never get used to the name Kiki. It was like humans thought she was a whole different dog. Saba looked behind her and saw some of her teammates heading towards the musher.

OOC:What's the new posting order?

OOC: By the looks of things, it's non-existant. Doesn't matter. So long as no-one is left too far behind.

BiC: Saba turned to Pitch. "Of course I'm nervous! And yeah, she is gonna kill you. Let's just hope she waits until we reach Nome for that." Saba said, grinning excitedly. If it wasn't for Pitch and Alpine on the team, Saba probably would've given up or ran off months ago. While the other dogs didn't hate her, they wouldn't actually start a conversation with her, unless it was about work. Stuff that they had to talk about. Saba slipped into her harness and barked excitedly.
"Kiki..." The musher said sternly, and Saba was instantly quiet.
"Come on guys! Let's do this thing!" she said, beaming with confidence. One of the things her 'big sister', Maria, had taught her was that if you pretend to be confident, it gives you a confidence boost. Saba had never really got it then, but now she needed more than ever, and it was working.

I'm giving others a chance to post after this, so no more posting for me until a few other people have posted ^_^

Belle ignored Pitch, but once she was in her harness she completely forgot about him. There was no time for grudges now, they were bout to go into the race. "Come on guys! Let's do this thing!" She heard Saba bark. She was about to come up with some smart remark, before the musher told Saba to be quiet. She looked ahead again, satisfied with Saba's scolding.

Pitch raced after Saba excitedly, before slipping into the harness next to Belle. Luckily she was too distracted to remember what he had said before. He grinned when he heard Saba bark confidently "Come on guys! Let's do this thing!". He admired her confidence, this would be a big race for her, he doubted she had ever done anything like it before. He had been in races like this before, but he was still nervous, but seeing Saba so confident made him feel more confident. When the musher wasn't looking he barked "Yeah, lets do this thing!" Before looking ahead and pretending that he had done nothing.

Sorry it was a little bit my fault.

Keno came trotting up to his musher, his tail wagging lightly.He smiled trustingly up at his human as the man patted his head. "Cmon big fella, time to get ready." Obediently he walked over to his position and swung his harness onto his bulky shoulders, als he had done so many times before, ready to start, his eyes focused on the horizon. What irritated him ever so slightly was the other dogs larking about, but he shrugged his shoulders passively. He was used to their foolish behaviour by now. Finally they seemed to organise themselves, and he heard Saba call "Come on guys, lets do this!" in an attempt to raise their spirits up before the race. Keno smiled. Even though she was only a rookie, he quite liked her, she was a good kid. Which was more thancould be siad for some of the others....

OOC: I think we should wait for whitewolf17 and rose_weasley to post before we go on (which is what we're doing anyway, lol). By the way, I rendered an image of Keno. Let's just see if it will upload.

And... it won't. Grr. I wish mods would hurry up in accepting fan images, so that I could link to the renders.

ooc: uh, just wanted to say sorry about before, I think I did misread the rules.

OOC:Thankz for waiting for me guys. I pm'ed rose to post. @Vivid:How do ya render a picture? I've been wanting to but I don't know what kind of program I would use or how I would do it.

Alpine slowly got off his rock to join the rest of his teammates at the sled. As he was getting into his harness he looked at the rest of his teammates and felt like apologizing for earlier. "I'm sorry about that guys. I promise not to do that again, okay?" After getting in his harness and saying he was sorry Alpine turned towards Saba who looked rather nervous to him. "Don't worry. You'll be fine" said Alpine as he tried to comfort her. "Just try to treat this like any other race you've been in and you'll be alright". As he turned away from Saba Alpine wasn't sure if he was alright. He was feeling worse by the minute and he'd lost a lot of strength. He then turned his attention to the musher waiting to know what to do.

Ooc:// Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have mid-terms coming up and I've been studying like crazy. Anyways, thanks for waiting.

Bic:// Samson shook the bit of dampness out of his fur and walked behind the rest of the dogs to his place in the back beside Keno. He shrugged his smaller from into the harness and gave a ready sigh ending with a smirk. Now, he was ready.
He glanced at Keno and saw the slight smile on the other wheel dog's face. Sam smiled a bit larger, seeing that even Keno was happy and excited inside.
Sam turned his head around to face front and looked around at all the dogs. Saba was nervous. Of course she was. It was her first race, after all. And Alpine looked... drained. Like he had just run a race instead of just starting. Som wondered if the dog got any sleep last night.
Sam shook his head, not wanting to concern himself. He had to have his full concentration on the race ahead if he wanted to be any help to his team.

Everyone was in their harnesses now. "Don't worry about me, my nerves just keep me from messing up!" Saba said to Alpine, but she said it just loud enough so that all could hear. "But I know that you're gonna do great, even if you're not at one hundred percent." she said, quieter this time.

As the musher gave them the command to start running, Saba noticed a slight change. They were using a different sled, one of top quality that was quite light, but very sturdy. The harnesses, too, had changed and were of very high-quality leather. This was what happened to most of the money from their past races. Right now they were only going at a jog, to conserve their energy and warm up their muscles.

They arrived at the starting line and twelve other teams were already there. There were eighteen teams competing in this race. A scrawny-looking man knelt down by their sled and painted a '13' on the side of their sled. "Great, the unlucky number." The musher muttered.

The competition looked very fierce, and the teams were all very different. One gruff, serious-looking team was, aside from the musher, all wolf hybrids. Another team, number twelve, was all cocky, competitive, purebred huskies, very much like Steele. When their lead dog caught sight of our team, he simply laughed. Another team was completely female. But all of teams were ready to race and to win.
