As it's been previously said, I would have the movie longer, for the following reasons:

1. Better develop Steele's character (seems flat)
2. Delve further into how exactly Steele gets lost
3. Add some more musher/team interaction (i.e., why do the dogs care about their mushers ("Our musher hit his head..."))
4. Make MuknLuk worth more than comic relief (like Timon/Pumbaa)
5. More Jenna/Balto interaction

Any reasons I missed?

But i would get more Boris and Muk and Luk scenes in the movie.

I wouldn't change a thing. Everything is perfect just the way it is.

no matter what movie I see, I'd always change it in some way
I'd change it by (of course making it a bit longer) maybe not making the journey so fast-paced, but at the same time keep it's humor, beauty, and every other element it has to offer.
I'm actually thinking of making a remake of this film...may sound a bit strange...but, well...I don't know. Although I love this film so much I would've made it a little differently. Same characters, same place, same plot, but with a lot more to it then what there was.
