If I microwaved a diaper, it would be more awesome than the first movie.

By now, anyone that has read one of my threads should know I want everyone to be respectful, and the mods are the same way. I'm fine with you voicing your opinion that you disliked the first movie but please voice it in a respectful manner. Many people do like it and that is being disrespectful to those people.

Your friend does not lie, Soundwave actually plays a MAJOR role in the film. He's the reason the Decepticons have returned to Earth.

Even though I hated the first one, I'll have to admit that the more I see, the more confidence I have. It looks like the screenwriters realized they couldn't write if their lives depended on it and focused on making an all out thrill ride. The fun Summer film the first one was supposed to be. Also, as an old school Transformers fan, I must say I'm really pleased on how the designers decided to handle some of the characters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNGrnAmmtNgAll that being said, it probably has the worst soundtrack ever. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transformers:_Revenge_of_the_Fallen_-_The_Album*shivers*

I have to admit, I found the idea of robots turning into animals more interesting than turning into other machines, like trucks and stuff. I even watched the Beast Wars series on TV, and got the new chrome-style Rattrap figure! As to this movie... I've only heard bad stuff about it. According to one reviewer, pretty much nothing happens. I don't think I'll even bother to watch it.

I just saw it today, and well, i don't know what to think about it, really. It was a lot like the first in a sense that everything was chaotic, everything's just chaos. There were hardly any scenes of what's called "releases," when the story just slows down and paces itself. Instead, it was constantly, one action scene after another, bam-bam-bam-bam. While this may be a good thing for some, I found that too much action can be somewhat distracting, and you start to loose sight of what everyone's fighting for.
Also, I did think that the movie had a lot of overused elements recycled from the first movie. They're pretty much after the same thing, using a lot of the same methods -- only one Desceptacon apparently gained the ability of uber telekinesis [Since when was that a power?]. I mean, hot muscle cars, young love with some cute chick directed to lean enticingly over a motorcycle, really big guns, even bigger explosions, and worst/best of all... sexual innuendos in almost every scene. I felt that these things were just put in there to suck in their teenage target audience. Good for them, but I didn't really feel that all that was necessary to create a good sequel.
It's a worthy addition to the Transformer series, don't get me wrong. It ended nicely and it's always good to see some familiar faces as well as new ones. I'd say it's worth it to see in theaters, and if all else fails, hey -- I must say, the previews were also rather thrilling to watch. :]
