Just finished reading "Balto: Father" . . . WOW.
Just like with "Son", there are no words. My GARSH, how are you writing such good work? You really have a way of connecting two different worlds (that really aren't all that different) together to make a great piece of work!
However, there was only one thing that bothered me about halfway through the story . . . but I'll post that on your gallery, OK?
Still, you deserve a nice break from writing. Rest up, and until then, I await "Balto: Mate!"
(*sigh* And I should work on "Here I Am" or one of my Aleu fics once finals are done with! Just to make you happy, okay? *winks*)

I'm done resting, I've started Balto: Mate. I'm glad you liked Father. I loved the idea of taking the two seemingly disparate storylines and weaving them together, with the ties between them being the relationships between fathers and sons. It's a subject near and dear to my own heart. My favorite scenes in that one are when Kantu first beings the elk back and his alpha walks up to him and says "didn't get him without a fight, did you?", and actually I liked the scene with the vet in White Mountain too. I've now read all three of your fanfics and all I can say is "Wow," and I mean that. Your fictions are beautifully written, honestly, I think they are great. You've inspired/motivated me to continue to write fictions and I actually mean that. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your support Wolf, and everybody who reads my stories. I'm grateful to all of you for it. As to the popular list, who knows. I tend to think my first three will start to fall off the list by the time I get Mate finished. To be honest, I'm surprised they're all still up there. Either way, it won't change my love of Balto, Jenna and the stories. I love writing Balto fanfics, and I'll keep doing it for as long as I have the inspiration. -X

Here's a bit from Balto: Mate while those of you who are waiting for me to finish it continue to wait patiently. Quote: Balto sighed, knowing he was about to give her the same reason to hate him all the other dogs already had. He shut his eyes and spoke slowly.
"Jenna, I'm... I'm half wolf."
She opened her mouth in surprise, but before she could say anything, Rosy appeared at the entrance to the alley. "Jenna! Come on girl! Time to go home!"
Jenna looked at Rosy, then back at Balto. His eyes were still shut, waiting for the inevitable hatred or dismissal he received every time someone found out he was half wolf. The difference was that this time, it was going to break his heart.
"I–" she began, and looked down at the ground. "I'm sorry Balto, I have to go." Thanks for being patient, and as always, thanks for reading. -X

By the looks of that little teaser there, I would say that it is coming along brilliantly! I eagerly await the fourth and final part of the series!

Balto: Mate is taking me considerably longer to write than my other fanfics did. Partially because I got stuck for a few days trying to write one of the sections, and partially because this one is just longer than my other stories. I am getting through it though, and I hope to have it done in another week or so. With the holidays coming up though, if I don't get it finished by next week it will probably have to wait until after Christmas. I am working very hard on it. I'm writing as much as I can every day, and I'm trying to tell an interesting story. In Balto: Mate, we learn the details of when Balto saw Jenna for the first time, and their consequent meeting. I also tell the tale of what happened in the months before their pups were born, before Balto II: WQ takes place. There is more, but I don't want to give everything away. In the meantime, here's another sample from Balto: Mate. Quote: Balto shut his eyes and turned away from Boris. "I... I got scared. I panicked. I told her I didn't think I could do it. I said I was worried about the pups being part wolf, and that I couldn't be a good father, and... she ran away from me."
"Balto... I love you, but sometimes I want to smack your fuzzy head," Boris said with a sigh.
"I already feel stupid enough Boris, you don't have to make it worse." Balto grumbled.
"Let me ask you something. You want to have a family, yes? And you love Jenna?"
Tears formed in Balto's eyes as he remembered Jenna's face last night right before she ran away. "Yes," he said hoarsely. As always, thanks for reading. -X

Ooh, the teasers are wonderful . . . I'm honestly feeling a bit emotional while reading just those bits! *weeps* I think you've inspired me to write a new story (Thanks, Xaqtly!) based on how Balto and Jenna's relationship strengthens once he's considered a hero and once they realize that what they feel for each other is actually love. (I still find my romance stories awkward, due to the fact that I've never had a boyfriend before . . . GAH. Yours, on the other hand, are pure genius - believable and are able to fill in those little holes in each of the films that weren't really fleshed out.) *bows several times* I'm not worthy. Oh, and have a happy holiday - you need to take the rest of this month off. - Juuchan17
