ooh, sorry! I should have posted earlier I kinda missed the action

Balto smiled at his daughter as she butted him playfully, and returned it with a playful fatherly shove. Then he made a polite nod of greeting towards Niara and Tear, the foxes. Out of the corner of his eye, for a split second- one of them met his gaze full-on, and shot him a dazzling smile, batting her long black lashes over star-studded eyes. Then in a flash her look returned to normal, and Balto blinked at her, wondering wether he was imagining stupid things. Age is getting to me already, he thought to himself.

But he felt the social atmosphere grow colder and alarm bells began ringing feintly in his head. He glanced sideways at Jenna, and saw that she wasn't liking this one bit.

Then Jenna said "This is my mate, Balto"

Reinforcing what Jenna said, Balto instinctively moved a litte closer to her.

Tear and Jenna say what they say.


Balto felt uneasy. He didn't like the way things were going. To break the ice that was swiftly forming over the conversation, Balto remarked brightly "I dunno, Dingo. But I saw them sweeping the tracl today, so yes there might be a race either today or tommorow." He glanced over and saw that Niara had taken Saba aside and was muttering to her. Uh-oh, he thought.

"As I was saying, I'm off to the Butcher's Shop." She hoped to impress Balto as she walked past him, holding her head high and batting her eyelashes. She turned and ran down the street to where the butcher held his meat stock. She listened for a moment. Nobody is inside. Good she thought. Pushing the door open, she eyes a roll of sausage. Fresh and hot. She looked around and quickly grabbed the roll, walking out the door with it sucurly in her mouth, She glanced at Jenna and a plan shot into her head. She would put it in progress tonight.

She left the sausage in the boiler room, to keep it hot for the evening. She turned walked into an alley and lay down to rest, making sure that she wouldn't be tired for her plan.

Dingo looked wry at Saba. "What do you mean?" He hadn't noticed anything really. He watched as Tear dashed away. A few moments later, she was walking proudly out of the butcher's shop holding a rol of sausage. "I gotta go see Spotlight, she might be looking for me. He dashed away.

Tear was dreaming. She walked over a misty plain and saw nothing but plae grass and white. Suddenly, a figure was walkign towards her. She could make out the brown grey fur and that it was a canine. It stepped out of the mist and she could see Balto standing before her. "Hello Tear" He said. She smiled and nuzzled him. "Now that Jenna is gone, we can start a family of our own..." He faded away and Tear woke up, ready to set her plan into place. The moon was up and she knew that Balto came this way every night to go home.

Tear stepped out from her spot. "Hello Balto" She said, batting her eyes again. "You seem cold and tired. I'm sure that you wouldn't want to spend this night on that boat of yours, hm? Why don't you stay in this barn with me, it has a warm furnace." She motioned towards a barn that you coulf feel the warmth coming from.
