Kiche wrote: Well.. I don't like almost any kind of vegetable... but I don't think it could be counted as one of the 'grossest' things, even though *I* think it's gross uh. My cousin made me eat shaving cream once when I was little. Then my aunt made me drink milk, and it just tasted nasty... And... we all know how cafeteria food is... one time, one of my friends got a chocolate pudding w/ lil chocolate chip cookies on it, and I foolishly ate one of the cookies off of it D: It literally had no flavor, and the texture of a BOOGER... ibghjsnkjasm *vomit* Aaaaand people tell me this apparently is gross soundin', but I swear it's freaking delicious, TRY IT... vanilla ice cream w/ breakfast sausages, mixed together But I think one of the worst things I've had to date was cracked pepper breadsticks... just the name makes me feel nauseous again... Before you say 'wtf that sounds delicious', listen to the backstory! ...My mother and I went to see my sister ride in a horse show down in RI early one Sunday morning... we hung around there for a while and it was a swell morning, yadda yadda, then on the 1 1/2, 2 hour ride home, we had nothing to eat in the car but these breadsticks... I tried one and at first they weren't so bad. So i had more. And more. By the time we were about 1/2 an hour from home, I felt sick as the dickens. I had my window down and my eyes shut and I was starting to lose the battle w/ my gag reflex. When we got home, I ran out of the car and inside to the bathroom and promptly threw up all the icky breadsticks... and then it was like puke & pepper flavored in my mouth. And it was just a terrible experience. I hate anything peppery now because it can only remind me of regurgitating those disgusting breadsticks x.x USMC Wolf > ohmahgah I've done that before... eww >,< Most vegetables are horrible tasting which is kind of ironic because they are "supposed to be good for us". Also milk does taste terrible which is why people should drink orange juice which has more calcium than milk and tastes a whole lot better. One of the grossest things I ever ate was barbeque sauce because I mistook it for ketchup and I almost threw-up after eating that sludge.

I've thought about that many times how come the better a food tastes the worse it seems to be for us, and vica versa?! oh and I don't like barbecue sauce either-or terriyucky (teriyaki) sauce either!

They were spicy and chewy and ... delicious. <3 Anyway, grossest thing would probably be off milk. I absoloutely can't stand it. xD Either that or just about any vegetable. xD They make me sick. Meat all the way! ? Oh, and don't worry Conay, you're not alone. Despite all the processed artificial crap in MacDonald's ... I love it. Especially the chicken nuggets, fries and milkshake. Yum! You're making me hungry! Well the most discusting thing I ever tasted was Pineapple XD. I hate it! Aside from Nick's lol. (I hate that place! ^.^)

I think its a good idea to bring back old topics^^ its better then making a bunch of useless duplicate topics that take up more room, gypsy is smart by doing that^^ really whats better make duplicates of the same topic or utilising a topic already there? It's stupid to make the same topic over and over again when there is a perfectly good one from few years back there for not reducing the speed of this place on people's computers which I already know you have an issure with things slowing the site down for people^^ Anyway back on topic, this will so top the grose chart, I was dared to eat a scorpion pop which is a huge lolipop with a big scorpion in it, the stinger everything is in it and it wasn't that bad once you get over the hard crunch when you bite into the scorpion^^

I guess I'll chime in.
Of course, what is "gross" or achieves varying levels of "grossness" is highly subjective. For instance...many westerners still have an aversion to sushi and sashimi (Japanese food - raw or steamed...or sometimes even cooked...fish and other things wrapped in seaweed and rice, or seaweed paper as a roll, or placed on a little ball of rice, or just left as strips of fish or other food), despite the now-ubiquitous availability of it all over the country...even in rural areas. Most Chinese restaurants (except the small take-out only places) have a sushi bar now; there are tons of Asian and specifically Japanese restaurants around, and even some non-Asian restaurants have sushi and sashimi on their menus. I happen to love sushi (not so much sashimi though...I prefer rice with my raw or cooked fish and fish rolls). Admittedly, it took a little getting used to, but I find it the most normal and enjoyable thing now. And cannot understand others' aversion to it. But hey - that's me.
And I had reindeer sausage in Alaska. And didn't hate it. In fact, it was very similar to eating any other kind of sausage. Nothing stood out.
But like others, I have had some nasty stuff. Broiled cow tongue in France. GUH! It wasn't my choice either! I was in high school, and participating in a France/England trip through the school (with a group of students and teachers...). And they got us together one night to go to dinner, and told us that we'd be having a special meal, but refused to tell us what it was. Not until it was sitting in front of us, and one of us dared to taste it did they finally reveal it. And, as you may expect, several of us refused to eat it. I tried a few bites and spurned it. Disgusting.
Snails. Another French specialty. Nasty. Horrible flavor. Strange consistency. Vile things. Not worth the trouble. Again...in my opinion.
Liver once or twice as a kid. NEVER liked eating organs no matter how they are prepared. Vegetables and muscle is all, thank you. And milk is fine by me. I do hate pickled beets (as they are commonly sold in the supermarkets in that awful purplish goo), yams and sweet potatoes (though I do like all other kinds of potatoes). And squash. Ugh. No thank you (but oddly, grilled zucchini with olive oil and spices on top is awesome!).
And when I was up in Vermont with some friends some years back, one of them, who is a hunter, prepared some venison and wild turkey for us. You might expect that this would have been mild by comparison, and rather enjoyable. The venison meat, however, was prepared in a stew (probably to mask it's gamey flavor), and the wild turkey was excessively dry and veiny. Uh. Nasty. Unpalatable.
I have no problem with fast food...in occasional moderation. Be it McDonald's, KFC, Burger King, Wendy's, or even stinky Taco Bell, or others, I will do it when I am traveling on occasion (and in need of a quick meal where I cannot stop for a longer meal at a real restaurant), or am just too lazy to prepare something at home.
Meanwhile, here in the U.S. there has been a strong push to follow the eastern practices of insect eating. There is much advertising and literature devoted to espousing its nutritional value, and cheap cost. Strange as it sounds, I am interested in trying SOME of it...a little at a time, and rather cautiously. lol

Liver is probably the worst thing that I've ever stomached in my life. I hate it so much I think vomit would be more appetizing than liver. I have no idea how my mom can eat that stuff. I swear vomit tastes way better, at least I'd rather eat just about anything before I take another spoon full of liver. Blagh
