Bottom line of this topic Only mods should act like mods, suggestions are fine, unless your a mod, let the mods do their job.
All a Webranker is a fancy name, and the Member, has no rank change, they just go to other sites and ask for them to look at theirs, or link to them. No rank change, but they should never act like they are a mod, if they should, maybe they should't be a Webreanker if they are not Mature enough.

That was a mistake. I didn't mean to put that last "older members are allowed to correct mistakes" thing. I was going to erase it. But if we don't teach the younger members here then who else will, apart from the moderators of course. I mean't to say that just because members correct younger members doesn't mean that we're 'trying to be like moderators'. I have a bad way of expressing myself.

So, if a new member is acting out in the SB we're just supposed to say 'oh look! A newbie is acting out! Oh well. The Mods aren't around, let's ignore him' is that how we should act? Not do anything just because we aren't Moderators? I don't think so. That is just what it sounds like to me. Then again we could always report him to the Moderators, which would be easier, but, the mods can't be there for every little tiny problem that goes on in the Shout Box. Telling a member off is not acting like a Moderator, truth be told, it's more helpful than just sitting around ignoring the little pain in the butt who might be causing trouble. Would you sit around and watch a N00B use SMS and not do ANYTHING? Just because the Moderators aren't around, will you ignore the person causing the problem?

Not to ruffle some feathers, but I belive calling other members "n00bs" is against the rules, or just plain rude.I know your not pointing it at other members, but still...

The vulgarity of "noob" or "newb" is dependent upon the context in which it is used. In this case, it's not really vulgar. Could be if it was directed at someone, but it isn't.

Well the Major issue is the person trying to help for example is telling the new member not to do the certain act... People unfortunately say it very negatively make it seem like their Help pointless.

Member 2: "Please, don't write in SMS its against the rules. You can get in trouble and get banned"
Member 1 : "How r u guys"

Over Here you can see a simple member warning the other. Nothing wrong, nothing offensive. and I wrote the "get" in bold for a reason. It's to explain the member means a Mod can ban the person not the member himself. This often can be misunderstood as acting like a mod. Now the second way which can both offend the member and also make the situation worse. Those people Shouldn't try to help or make a single comment knowing that it will cause more problems..

Member 1: "Noob Stop writing in SMS" or "Can you use your eyes or are you blind? didn't you read the rules?" or "I'll send you warnings if you don't stop"
Member 2: "what r u up to?"

Here obviously the member 2 is going to react to member 1 statements comment of noob and the offensive content in the other. As well as he's going to say he's acting like a mod in the third since only a mod can send warnings. This will be causing conflicts which doesn't make the situation helpful at all. So mainly as stated many times before It Depends on the member who's telling the person breaking the rules. That's what really counts. Otherwise there's nothing wrong with telling a member Politely please obey the rules or to please stop break them. If they still Disobey then report using the report option. No point acting like a mod that will just get you in trouble. Although there are some situations best left to the mods. Like people making a lot of Drama Like "ill commit suicide" and "Im going to leave the site" Members should either Ignore or just take it to the pms.. its best they don't say anything on the sb because these are the ones that create and get the most negative feed back. "Your just asking for attention. Or just shut up and stop being a Drama Queen."
So yea even members have their limits in handling a situation.

Correction. In life a person can misunderstand even said speech. a mod can be misunderstood as well. So your saying Don't talk at all at the shout box? because everything you say can be misunderstood? Its actually the style in the way the person writes. That gives a no doubt about it view. Those who are unable to give that view should avoid telling or saying certain saying as I mentioned before knowing themselves it should cause conflicts.Who can misunderstand Please and thank you? Any one knows that That's the politest manner of speech. There Fore It is absolutely Possible to give a Clear Cut view of what your saying. You just have to know how to say it.

Untrue. Please and thank you can be interpreted and/or intended in a sarcastic manner, which proves JCs point, ultimately....

Anyhow. I've been on the shoutbox multiple times. Members give other members sooooooooo much flak, it's almost asking for a fight. Example:

Person #1: What's up?

Person #2: Oh, not much. At home right now. Haha, I'm actually doing nothing else than chatting on here. What are u up to?

Person #3: Hey! No SMS! You could be banned!

I don't know about everyone else here, but if I were person #2, I would be rather ticked off. This does happen on the shoutbox. Person #2's use of SMS is not even noteworthy.
