You know, I find that response heavily funny. Of course, I'm not gonna 'bait' you into a flame war. That would be oh so wrong. And prevention? What is it you're talking about? I have absolutely no idea at the present moment. As for your recommendation as to if I'm going to give something 'intelligent' and all that jazz and if not, to not chime in... Sorry, no can do. I have a right to express my opinion on this little matter and I am not here to wrangle with you but just to say that you may interpret what the mods here and the members who have replied to this topic say, but it doesn't mean you are solely right.

It takes time or more, but it can be chosen one day...

Any one, that is mature, and if a lead mod or Steet says should be one, can be. If a member joined a week ago, but was super mature and nice, and let's just pretend Steet was impressed, and made that person a mod. It could happen, it's unlikely, but it could.

This annoys the heck out of me. Asking to be a moderator doesn't make you a moderator, nor will it ever. Although there is a saying "You don't ask, you don't get" (although that might just be in my family ) there definitely are exceptions. To be a mod, you have to prove you can be a mod. BUT, proving you can be a mod means doing these things to help the site, not so you can be a mod. Which works in both ways. You know the site, you try to help improve the site, you act responsibly, you follow all rules (even the very obscure), you act kindly towards members, you guide members to correct sections of the site, you are online almost daily... then and only then should you be able to become a mod. When week-old members coming on, create a suggestions topic about being a mod because they've been here for a long time, I think comes under none of those. It's not only annoying, pointless and lock-worthy, but it's against the rules. However, I think that if someone felt that they should be a mod, for all the right reasons and have ticked all the boxes in paragraph 2, then perhaps it would be acceptable to PM steet explaining why you think you should be a mod. And as for age relating to mod-worthiness, I think it should only play a minor role in deciding on mods. A mature 17 year old is would obviously much more mature than me (a (supposedly) mature 12 year old). And for time on the site, well I think it should relate your percentage/fraction, as in... A) Someone has been on the site for 2 years, 7 months. But they only come on about twice or thrice a fortnight for about 30 minutes. B) Someone has been on the site for 1 year 10 months, and comes on daily or once every two days for about 2 or 3 hours. I think example B would be much better suited as a mod, because of more activity. Bah, and also, it probably wouldn't help if it's midday while the rest of BS/TLKS/AS is sleeping, like in my case.

I've been a member that long, but do I complain? Nope. Well, I personally like not being a mod, you have a pretty big responsibilty by being one. A few of my friends are mods, at trust me, they do NOT like it when people say,"Hey, umm, can I be a mod, please??!!" So annoying.
