I love husky and i want one and will get one some time in the future. I would like it to be a black husky that has blue eyes. I think that it would look like a wolf.

What is the difference between husky and malamute?But I love both of them

I have loved huskies (and all dogs for that matter) forever, especially since my aunt and uncle got two of them, a black and white one and a gray one. Their names are Nanook and Neeko.

i would love to have a wolf or a wolf pup i would either want a white,black,red,brown, or grey!!!they are all so cute!!*_* ^_^

LOL if you go to a breeder and ask for a puppy with blue eyes they will probably put the phone down on you... or charge you extra for it. That is if you go to a decent breeder.

But I wouldn't recommend getting a Siberian husky to anyone unless you are going to race it or do another sport with it such as husky trekking, skijoring etc. But I love huiskies, I race huskies, why am I telling you not to get one?

They aren't pets, they are not loyal dogs (they will never guard your home) which is why they are so friendly, they love everyone but also hold everyone in the same light. That is why you can never ever let one off the lead as it just won't come back. It's running instinct is too strong and it will be gone in a flash. Very rarely you do get one that will come back but it is rare. I do know one myself.. the others I have had to chase on a quad bike to get back when they have escaped!

Also if you value your home, don't get a husky, it will eat everything. Everyone I know who has huskies does not have carpets in their house because the huskies ate them years ago. The reason they do that is because they are super intelegent dogs, they get bored pretty easy so chewing things is the first thing they think of.

They get fat too easy as well if you don't exercise them right, a couple of walks a day is not enough, these dogs need to run miles and pull a heavy weight to stay in shape. If you are used to the shape that seems normal now..which is a round body with stocky legs.. that is a show dog that isn't exercised. A real Siberian husky should have the same shape as a greyhound with a tucked up belly.

Look at these guys look how thinner they look. You should be able to see ribs on a husky and the leg muscles should be huge. Fat huskies can lead to all sorts of medical problems too.

Finally people are drawn to them because they think they look like wolves. Its the same reason I was myself years ago, but now I can honestly say that they don't look like wolves at all. Yes you can get a wolfy colour, it is actually called "wolf grey" but the shape of the husky is nothing like a wolf at all. the head, the ears, the legs, the tail, the paws, the ribs, the back etc etc it is all different. They look like huskies and that's it really.

By the way Malamutes are a lot bigger, usually have more fur and they aren't as fast but more powerful instead.

Wow that says alot right there. But don't they grow out of chewing up stuff like during a teething period or is it just a regular thing to them like they can't be trained from?

I've seen a husky that was 18 years old and he still chewed up everything lol.

I forgot to mention training, you can train them but it takes a long long time. much longert han a regular dog. If you want to train them to run, that is a lot easier! Huskies can handle lots of commands for running (e.g. Hike, Gee, Haw, woah, etc [there are a few more for tensioning lines and different running speeds]) but you try training one to "sit" and it'll just look at you funny.

Dogs from northern area are usually live longer than breeds from southern areas.

I do not have a husky but in my dreams i could see myself with a team of huskies and a sled. I have been have this dream even before i wached Balto back in 1995. At the present time i could only dream of getting one, but in the future i WILL get one.
